Can't believe the other team let you go off like that sniping. I might start a game there sniping, but usually doesn't last more than 2 respawns before everyone's wise to it, unless I get the roof and Tac Insert.

I just unlocked harrier today, and I used harrier/chopper gunner

 

I sat in that house with the upstairs and the downstairs and I had both entrances claymored, I even ran the gunner while I was on the stairs and no one killed me.

team concept wise you mean with MAG?

That, and more. Like the environment is just better. On COD, if the guy is on the map, he's a target. On MAG, you look down your sights and guys are just too far away to hit a lot of times. You may land one bullet, but you'll never keep him lined up for the kill. If you fire like that, you give away position, etc for snipers perched around the map. You can't just run and gun like on COD, or you'll get raped. You move as a unit, take advantageous positions like houses, bunkers, high ground, etc. You can heal yourself and teammates if you have the medic stuff on your character, and reviving them is a MAJOR key to victory.

 

 

On COD, just throw me on a team and I can put them on my back and go win a match. On MAG, you're a solider, not a god. Without my teammates on MAG, they're gonna storm my location and I'm dead in .2 seconds. You don't seem to take as much damage before death on MAG. On COD, you have time to get shot, turn and find your attacker, and return fire. If someone you don't see fires on you on MAG, you're dead.

 

 

That said, the game just doesn't play as well. The engine, physics, style, feel, and experience of COD is just superior. MAG is a GREAT first installment, and I think they've pushed the genre forward. Their second game may rival the next COD, and hopefully it pushes COD to a higher level as well. For those who find themselves playing COD and are like "dude slow the fock down. this is just chaos" MAG is something I'd recommend. It's a VERY difficult game. The best matches I've seen are like 22-9 or so (and those are the high level guys who are just BEASTING) and the levels are like battlefields in that you can't just sprint across them or run in firing or whatever. It's incredibly frustrating at first. You'll just get slaughtered, and the higher level actually indicates superior players as they've unlocked more skills, ability, and weapon attachments (HUGE factors, unlike in COD--a foregrip or reflex sight is a major advantage to your gun on MAG). Plus they can be squad and platoon leaders, giving out orders, calling in air supports, changing spawn locations, etc. They really are in charge of your team and a good leader will win the match for you if you follow orders.

 

 

To be honest, they're different games. I'd like to see each one borrow style and ideas from the other. It's hard to say "Oh ____ is better" as it's really just personal preference. I mean technically, COD is more advanced and clearly had a bigger foundation, budget, and all that. But one isn't really more fun than the other. COD is just MUCH more user friendly, more arcade style. MAG is more of a war simulation. Think maybe SOCOM meets Medal of Honor. And a kill just FEELS so rewarding.

 

 

Anyone interested, give it a rental and know ahead of time you're gonna get raped at first. Just keep playing through it. Take your lumps, level up, improve your guns (it doesn't take all that long--level 5-6 you start to be pretty solid) and learn to get the feel of it. Don't just play one match and quit saying it sucks. It's a really really hard game. But it's insanely fun, especially with a large group of friends playing together in a squad working together. Plus, since I got started playing MAG occasionally, I am a flat out monster on COD. It's child's play. Went from MAG, played two matches of COD and went 39-1 and 34-1 nuking them both. COD is still my #1 game, but MAG is the first legit challenger to the throne. I suggest everyone give it a try, although don't do so from the standpoint of trying to compare it to COD or you wont enjoy it. Play it for what it is, and it's a great game. I'd give it 8.5/10.

Figured out the Pavelow thing. If it's the first pavelow called in, and you haven't died yet, it counts toward your killstreak/nuke. From what I can gather, if that's not the case, you have to get one kill before it does for it to all count toward the streak. If you're sniping or in a high traffic area with a good vantage point, I suggest just waiting to get one kill before calling it, it still appears to count this way.

Yeah this happned after we played together last night, I had Harrier, Pavelow, AC 130 set up. Called in the Harrier and Pavelow pretty much back to back, got at least 5 kills with them and never got to call in the AC 130 focking stupid.

 

When you say first pavelow called in, is this by you, or for the game? Also so if I call in a Harrier, and it gets m two kills for the Pavelow, should I wait for it to get a 3rd kill?

I didn't do much better I wasn't getting any kills going like 12-9 every game or less. I did stop some boosters on Highrise, that was good times I knew where they were hiding from that Randy Savage video that was posted
