1st round draft pick, and all that money for THAT. Once again...GREAT TRADE BEARS!!!

The Seahawks may be a rapidly declining team with an aging QB, but at least we have two 1st rounders to continue to rebuild with and we don't have a ton of capitol invested in a glorified Rex Grossman. We also aren't mental midgets raised by crackwhores.

On the plus side for Sweetness, at least he got to see Devin Hesters' ass.

I disagree with most of this, but that last line made me LOL.

Back to football, what are the Hawks going to do about QB in the future? Hass isn't long for this league, and Wallace ain't the answer.

This is his 11th year, (P. Manning is in his 12th) there is plenty of time to find a replacement.

Plus Hasselbeck was a backup behind Farve early in his career, so there is less wear and tear.

Hass's problems (injury/production) can be traced to poor offensive line play. Max Unger, the roookie from Oregon, has played well this season. Chris Spencer has shown a bit of life, the rest of the line has been a disaster. The Hawks also must address the QB position in next year's draft. They have 2 first rounders. One should be spent on a LT and the other on a future QB.

So Has gets a pass because his O-line is for sh1t, but Cutler is the worst QB in history despite playing behind a far worse O-line. At least recognize your own hipocracy.

No there isn't, and the fact that Manning has played one more year is irrelevant. Hass's back is shiot, he's done pretty soon. Not blaming him, but thems the facts. IMO he can eke out one more year, and continue to be mediocre at best doing so.

I didn't put the phrase in quotes, because its not, but you posted a picture of him with a passy in his mouth, not exactly a sign of respect is it. that and you upped a quote critical of the trade and said something like it was "tremendous team management by the bears", unless that wasn't sarcasm. you then said the lions future was brighter than the bears, another shot at cutler, unless you actually think they are better than the bears at any position other than WR, which would be rediculous, that stuff is mostly on page one of this thread, i didn't even review the other thread. look, i don't want to step in the middle of your proverbial pissing match with sweetness34, but in reality your vitrial for him is making you look worse than him. you continue to hate on bear fans as if he represents us, or our team on this board. I get that he was an ass in your thread, i do, but can i point out that bear fans are also capable of posting things like this:

At this point, we are feuding with fans of Chicago, Pittsburgh, New England, Arizona, SanFrancisco, Minnesota, and I'm not letting go of the venom between us and Philadelphia fans though they've been quiet lately.

There are another 6 teams or so that I have issues with, but we may or may not be at war with.

Bottom line, I personally don't care. Bring it all on, you Persian savages. There are 300 of us.

Sure. Take off your pants, get a running start, and jump into a cactus groin first.

Rebuild mode (obviously). If we can strengthen the O-line Hass can still give us a couple more years as a bridge QB (with Wallace as short-term bridge insurance). Two 1st rounders in the upcoming draft, hopefully we nail the QB of the future.

If some of the rumors come to light, having Holmgren as GM (and possibly Shanny as HC) could really help our search.

Just bumping this in case Sweetness logs on and wants to discuss the Bears game. The same Bears team that has the EXACT same recored as the Seahawks and no picks in the first round of the 2010 draft.

Where did you go big guy?

correction: they don't have a 2nd-round pick, either (traded it for gaines).

but no worries: they don't need draft picks...they've got rod marinelli on staff now. he'll take what's on the roster and "coach them up" as he says :overhead:

Urlacher "clarifies" comments about Cutler, Forte

Posted by Mike Florio on December 1, 2009 12:33 PM ET

We buried in the Week 12 Morning Aftermath (in order to get more of you to realize that you should be checking it out each week) some strong comments that Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher made to Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports regarding the team's direction under quarterback Jay Cutler.

Here's what Urlacher said: "Look, I love Jay, and I understand he's a great player who can take us a long way, and I still have faith in him. But I hate the way our identity has changed. We used to establish the run and wear teams down and try not to make mistakes, and we'd rely on our defense to keep us in the game and make big plays to put us in position to win. Kyle Orton might not be the flashiest quarterback, but the guy is a winner, and that formula worked for us. I hate to say it, but that's the truth."

Now, Urlacher is "clarifying" his remarks, which when it comes to NFL players who find themselves gnawing on their own feet has become code for "retracting."

"I'm not taking a shot at Jay," Urlacher tells Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune. "I'm not one bit taking a shot at Jay. He throws it better, right? And we haven't tried to run the ball as much. That's true.

"But Kyle has won games. His formula works. So I'm not taking a shot at Jay or Kyle."

Look, Urlacher said what he said. And he can now pretend he said something other than what he said, but he said it. And a reasonable person will interpret what Urlacher said as Urlacher taking a shot at Cutler by expressing a preference for Orton.

Undermining Urlacher's credibility in this regard is his effort to explain away this obvious slap at running back Matt Forte's inability to break free on a screen pass: "You know why that doesn't work?" Urlacher told Silver. "We don't make anyone [expletive] miss. I guess I just don't realize what great tacklers these [opposing defenders] are. They're amazing."

Even in a medium in which sarcasm isn't always conveyed accurately, Urlacher's words were dripping like a toothbrush Jerry Seinfeld had just dropped in a toilet.

So how does Urlacher explain his slap at Forte? "Minnesota's a good-tackling team, and they were up on our receivers pressing all game long," Urlacher said. "They never backed off. That's all I was saying."

Please, Brian.

On the bright side, we possibly have finally identified a procedure for determining precisely when a guy has had one concussion too many.
