Just got my $150 set of stickers

Recommended Posts

Just got my "draft kit" from CBS. Basically paid $150 for bunch of stickers we dont use but atleast it means the season is getting close :headbanger: Saw CBS also extended their "discount" for leagues till end of July. Must not be getting enough returning players. If they discount it even more they better dam well give me a refund.

Alright have anouther question for anyone. My buddy has a $110 redraft/keeper league on ESPN. He has a spot open but i have to inherit a team. The team open has only Turner which i would even consider keeping. You can keep 2 players. Its a PPR league and id have #1 pick once draft starts(think). Do i take it or say hell no?

Positives

-its another good size league and different then standard leagues i play in

-like the guys in the league

negatives

-dont like the scoring. But i can still win but player pool not too great

-hate Turner and he sucks in PPR

-ESPN sucks

-also since its a redraft commish does the playoffs manually so you can not see score updates :shocking:

-I told him if your gonna have a good league like that atleast pay for a dam good website.

Hell if someone is gonna pay $110+ they will pay $15 extra to play on good site.

But most for some dam reason like ESPN even though you can not customize crap

-QB completions count as 1 pt

-one team has AP and Rice

By the way here are some easy predictions=

1-Randy Moss will be the #1 WR this year in every league

2-Jay Cutler will have a very good year

3-Cutlers rebound year will mean Greg Olsen will have his break out year this year. And those owners who reached for him last year will be pissed when he goes off this year.

4-Finley will be the #1 TE

5-Tomlinson will be the JETS #1 RB this year and will have 1,000 yards + with 10+ TDs(even though i absolutely hate the JETS yes even more then the Colts)

first of all, points for QB completions is focking gross. it is almost as bas as points per rushing attempt.

but, if you consider yourself a good fantasy player then i see no reason to let any of the other stuff deter you from playing with what you consider to be a good group of people. Everything else can be overcome.

Turner doesnt suck in PPR he just loses value compared to some other top guys. He is still a first round talent any way you slice it.

do you have to keep 2? if you only keep 1 where does the extra draft pick fall? Unless you get a round of selecting before those owners who kept 2, I would find someone else to keep. Top pick will still net you a pretty good player with only 20-24 guys off the board? You could even go the opportunity route and grab Mathews.

Very good points. That is why i want to play but i dont like fact they do the dam playoffs manually??? I told him hell just start another league since they are free in ESPN and just use that for the playoffs.

Dam now you almost have me talked into playing again

-Moss is in the wonderful contract year and we all know what motivates him the most. $$$$$$$$$ Plus Brady should have better year but they need Welker back ASAP or Edelman to step up really really big and Tate or Holt to contribute

-Finley is a WR playing TE in a great offense. Maybe Clark is #1 but maybe. Gates is gonna see triple or quaduple coverage without Vjax and a rookie RB.

-I watched the LT interview on ESPN and superstars that are really motivated are hard to ignore. He will have very good year.

He said on ESPN it will not allow him to redraft and play during weeks 14-17. The playoffs start when the NFL playoffs do.

I played in league with them similar last year for only $25 and the QB completion thing is a freaking JOKE. I had McNabb one week and he had 250+ and 3 TDs and lost because his QB Garrard had 300 yards 0 TDs 3 INTs but about 30 completions. After that i was pissed.

oh, no it wont but why would anyone want to do this?

what is the point? you draft a team for weeks 1-13, then draft a new team for weeks 14-17?

I played in a league once with points for QB completions and it was terrible. The QB's completely outscore everyone else by a ton. All comes down to how good of a QB week you had. And often the highest scoring QB's each week are whoever's team is down a lot and throwing constantly at the end of the game. I did not enjoy it.

Agree with WW that if it is a good group of people and you enjoy playing, then it's all about having fun. Maybe after you join for a year you can talk the league in to making some rule and scoring changes in the future.

Yes, Turner is MUCH less valuable in PPR leagues. I wouldn't ever say he sux, but I wouldn't touch him anywhere near the first round in PPR leagues. At quick glance, I actually have him ranked around the #14 RB in PPR leagues, while I'd have him around #7 in standard scoring. He won't catch more than 5 passes all season. This creates a HUGE gap between him and guys that even catch 30+. Unless you are projecting him for another 1700 yard and 17 TD campaign (still he only finished 4th among RB's in PPR scoring that season), I can't see putting him in the first round. I think a realistic projection might be something like 1350 yards and 14 TD's if he plays 16 games. That's about 220 points in PPR leagues. I'd prefer CJ, AP, MJD, Rice, Gore, SJax, Charles, Mendenhall, D.Williams, McCoy, Forte, P.Thomas over Michael Turner in PPR leagues. And I could even make a case for Ryan Mathews. Just my opinion though. I hate Michael Turner in PPR, and see him being overdrafted in that format. I could see many people bumping him over the last 3 or 4 guys i listed, but that still doesn't put him near the first round for me.

Back to the league, that is pretty strange that they redraft again after 13 weeks. ESPN actually is pretty customizable at this point, and since its free, I'd much rather play there than CBS. But considering this is a strange league setup with QB completions and redrafting, you may have to pass on playing. Although I'd bet you'd have fun in any format on any site if it's a good group of owners in the league.

Why would you pay $150 for a set of name stickers? I am sorry, but that is such a rip off. All it takes is one guy in your league with a lap top assigning the players to the correct team as the draft takes place. Spend the $150 on food, beer, and an escort service.....NOT stickers! LOL.

The stickers are what CBS sends you to go with the hosting you're paying for. He didn't actually drop $150 on stickers, in which case we would surely all rip him to tiny little pieces.

This league sounds awful, but not because of Turner. I took a look at the numbers, and up until his injury in week 9, he was actually coming at 16.8 fp/game in PPR, good for #6 on the year. Now, there's a significant delta between Turner and guys who do catch passes (Peterson, Rice, MJD, and Gore were all at 20 fp/game), but he was the top guy at the next tier.

The counterpoint to that is that guys like S. Jax who scored only 4 times all season were almost dead even with him in PPR, but at the end of the day Turner's still giving you points.

I asked CBS if they could take some $$$ off my league fee instead of the dam pack of stickers. Of course they said no. I just enter the picks as we go using the commissioner options and in other we have disk for program put on projector and enter picks as we go and everything is up on the wall. Thats the best way

Yes i agree the $150 is a rip off. With that said i do really like the set up on CBS. They must have lost a good # of commissioners this year because they set the deadline to get $30 off your league at June 24th, so of course i paid for my league, then i saw they extended the savings till July something.

And i did decide not to play in that ESPN league.

I can't do CBS for a buck fifty. In that case, I'd go back to MFL.

Too happy with Yahoo though. I got too many other leagues I can switch back to on that site. Plus on the HTC Evo, it's light years ahead of the Blackberry POS I just tossed.

I DO, however, go through TJ Fantasy sports for the cheapo draft board, since we're all too wasted after draft time to remember who we picked as concrete evidence.

You have to have one BOLD prediction. Anyone can make the easy ones like most of mine are.

And what is so insane about LT having a big year?? A motivated superstar can be dangerous. Hell even Thomas Jones tore teams up behind that O-Line and Thomas Jones was crap. Yes he is younger than LT but im not gonna bet against LT this year. Even though i hope he does not have a good year for my PATS sake.

Thomas Jones was crap, that's hilarious considering he was coming off back to back 1000 yard seasons when the Jets signed him. Also, genius, Thomas Jones is OLDER than LT. It's not about age, it's about mileage. TJ still has 600 less carries on his body than LT.

Your predictions aren't easy by any stretch, they're asinine. No chance Randy Moss finishes #1. Your prediction about Jay Cutler has no meaning, because "very good" is not quantifiable. Greg Olsen is a tight end in a Martz system. Jermichael Finley is the only plausible one, but that's not even an "easy" prediction considering his small sample size and injury concerns.

Then there's the LT prediction, which is the most laughable thing I've read all offseason. He better average 10 yards a rush if he wants to hit 1000 yards, because that's the only way he will hit that mark with his 100 carry season.

You hammer me and my little predictions and make an assnine statement above. Lets here your great insight of why Randy Moss has no chance to finish as the #1 WR please OH GREAT MR FANTASY

1-is it because he is the highest point scoring WR on average for last 3 years??(yes 2007 boosted his #s but he still had that year) averaging 1255 yards per season and 16 TDs

2-Because he finished last year as the #2 scoring WR overall with 1264 yards and 13 TDs for 197 pts only 14 pts behind Andre Johnson

3-Because this will be Brady's 2nd year after major knee surgery usually the year when players are fully recovered from that type of injury

4-Or is it because Randy Moss is in the last year of his current contract so he will not want to perform to earn another big pay day :dunno:

Yeah Moss has no chance what so ever to be the #1 WR i was just kiddin

OK ill admit Jones was not "crap" he had 1402 yards and 14 TDs last year. Obviously not a crappy season. He did however basically lose his starting job to Greene.

I think by assnine, you mean asinine, and by here, you mean hear.

Guess who is the top scoring RB on average the last 10 years, LT, is he going to be #1 this year because of that? Don't use previous stats as a crutch.

Randy Moss is not going to have Wes Welker drawing coverage away from him all year. He'll struggle to put up 1200 yards or 10 TDs.

Well lets see now 10 years vs 3 years??????????????? Come on seriously atleast come with something worth a crap.

Dont use previous years stats as a crutch  You said you can not use past stats. So please enlighten me on how you determine who is gonna have a great year? Do you go out to each training camp and scout each team??

How about potential? Then Mcfadden will be the #1 RB and Russell will find a team and be the #1 fantasy QB.

Dammmmm i figured it out you are Al Davis :lock:
