The Moz 71 Posted August 29, 2010 Sleepers Louis Murphy - Oakland Finally has a QB that can throw it and Murphy as a rookie with garbage at QB actually did decent he has a chance to really shine as Oaklands #1 wr as DHB sucks and Shillens gets hurt if theres a strong breeze. BMW - He has his college coach and is finally in shape. Already people are saying he might e the best WR the hawks have and has shown as much preseason. While everyone is going gaga over the other Mike Williams in TB BMW might end up the better pick when it all shakes out and he can had on most WW's. LT - He is showing he all world form and his adp is low. Greene will begin as the starter but make no mistake this will be a staright up RBBC with LT getting most GL carries and all passing downs. He will be a great #3 RB and can be had for song right now. John Carlson - other than week 1 sucked last year - he has a coach that uses a TE in the passing game and has great talent he should be a great TE pick in the late rounds if you passed on a TE Tim Hightower - Sorry but Wells is not even close to worth his ADP and Timmah is going in the 10th ot later in a lot of drafts and will be the back to own in Arizona. He will be the GL back , 3rd down guy , as well as the starter at least currently so you know he will get at least a 50/50 share of carries. Wells is the HR hitter but Timmah is the bell cow when said an done -- he will end up a nice #3 back in 12 team leagues. Duds Shonn Green - I have seen him going round 2 in alot of leagues and if it was just him I can see it the Jets have a great Oline and offense/Defense. But LT is on the Jets and has looked even better than Greene and lets not forget LT is maybe the best FF player ever and a top 10 all time RB. People think its Greenes team drafting him late 2nd early 3rd will be kicking themselves when they find him in a full blown RBBC with LT and in PPR leagues LT has more value than Greene IMO as LT also gets the GL carries well - LT is maybe the best GL back ever as well. Pierre Thomas - Bush is showing his form so far this year and folks are drafting Pierre like he is the feature guy he won't be and theres no promise he is the GL back either as Payton goes with Bush alot in the redzone as well. Maybe Thomas gets 60% of the runs and 40 rec. but he will have to make the most of that to justify his adp. I drafted Pierre early so I am hoping he does that but I just think Bush will be much more involved than folks think and will get a large chunk of carries and be a PPR stud. 85 - Sorry but I think TO is the WR to own here and he is going a few rounds lower than 85. 85 hasn't been great in a long time and can't see that changing anytime soon. People that think having TO makes 85 better might be in for a surprise when it's having 85 on the other side makes TO better. Javid Best - This one I will get ripped for as he just had a great highlightreel carry - but fella's he has only played 1 full season and is an injury waiting to happen. Couple that with playing on one of the worst teams and a shaky at best oline I just can't see him being worth his adp as he is a late 3rd early/mid 4th right now and after tonight likely higher. He will get a heavy workload but against NFL D's I can't see him holding up - blast away - JMO.. Fitz - a 2nd rounder that will play like a 8-9th rounder. Not his fault but even Jerry Rice couldn't get 2nd round numbers with Leinart and DA throwing it. It is sad as Fitz is the best overall WR talent in the NFL sent to WR hell with horrific QB's throwing it. Why Arizona didn't try and draft Claussen I got no idea

SuperSteelers 1 Posted August 29, 2010 Sleepers: I don't agree with Carlson as a potential sleeper. There are about three guys I'd draft before him that I'd bunch in the same group as Carlson. Z. Miller (Oak), H. Miller (PIT) & the rookie for CHI. I drafted Carlson last season and it was a battle all season. Each week I waited for him to breakout and it cost me. I'm not saying his production last season will mirror this year, but I'd rather take a proven player. With Holmes gone in PIT, Heath will be the 2nd target in the red zone. I am kicking myself for not taking Hightower. He kept slipping and slipping. The guy who drafted him might go undefeated this year his team is so stacked. LT: I feel like I betrayed a family member by not drafting LT this year. He has been on my team seriously like 4 straight years. He looks to have a renewed energy and quickness about his this year. Duds: Pierre Thomas will be just as productive this year as last season. He is going at about the same spot. I agree with you on Fitz. Regardless of who is passing in ARZ their offense will be a joke. Other than his running game, I don't think Hightower accumulates as many catches as last season. Warner was just far superior than both the QBs they have now.

Joking aside, Good list. In mocks Carlson was always my consolation pick when I'd miss out on Zach Miller late. Definitely a high upside late pick. The only name on here I would disagree with would be Pierre Thomas. Super hyped last season, but I think that may have been a year premature. His owners from last year, me included, still have a bad taste in their mouths from how Payton used him. I dont think Betts is the goaline threat Bell was. I agree that he'll share a lot of touches with Bush, but I think he gets most of the goaline work this season. Just the fact he'll only be sharing the rock with one guy instead of two has to boost his value. If healthy, 1,000 yards rushing, 400-500 receiving yards, and 10 total TD's are a conservative prediction, not too far off from what he produced last season. I too drafted him again this season as my #2 RB, so a lot of this could be wishful thinking.
WhiteWonder 2,925 Posted August 29, 2010 Then why did you just trade Brees and Forsett for Shonn Greene and Kevin Kolb? my guess would be that he simply doesn't view Greene as a 2nd rounder... so he is a dud by adp standards however still vastly better than forsett. and maybe he really likes Kolb? WhiteWonder 2,925 Posted August 29, 2010 i disagree with Fitz as a dud. He isn't a first rounder anymore but should still be a very good fantasy producer. I expect either QB to lock in on him and I also expect the Cardinals to be playing from behind fairly often. ofcourse if Warner was in town or they had gone after a McNabb type, then Fitz is in the discussion for top overall WR with AJ... still I think Fitz will be just fine. Certainly not an 8th or 9th rounder.

tanatastic 2,062 Posted August 29, 2010 Then why did you just trade Brees and Forsett for Shonn Greene and Kevin Kolb? Horrid. Brees for greene and kolb would be bad enough, throw in high upside forsett too? kolb is not a top 12 qb in my eyes and greene prob wont even be the top scoring rb on his own team. Brees is a first rounder. The person getting the better player ALWAYS wins the trade.

Brees is a first rounder. The person getting the better player ALWAYS wins the trade. totally disagree of course. Brees is a super stud no doubt but I think Kolb does very well in a pass first O with tons of weapons - in his only 2 starts he posted studlike numbers. If he busts so be it but I really like Kolb as a top 10 QB. Though I don't think Greene is anywhere near a 2nd rounder I do think he is much better than Forsett and a great keeper for next season. also note I was being forced to start a seattle back as Forsett/Leon was my only other real option after Steven Jackson -- What I like best about the deal is I think I still end up with the SEattle back that gets the most fantasy points as Washington wasn't part of the deal. If healthy Washington is much better than Forsett.
The Moz 71 Posted August 30, 2010 NEVER base projections on predicting injury....... otherwise I like it Not really hard with Best though - while I will agree he is showing he can be a monster talent he only stayed healthy 1 year in college - and the way he will be used as a workhorse makes me think there's better chance than not he gets injured. Also its based on Detroit just not being good unless their O pulls a 180 and learns to block and Nate B is actually an upgrade I think the preseason might prove to be a teaser. The Moz 71 Posted August 30, 2010 True. And Shonn Greene can be kept as one of two keepers with only giving up a 12th round pick. I thought of that after I posed the question. pretty much you and WW are right -- I can keep him for a song and while I don't love Greene he is much better than a Forsett that IMO won't be the main back in Seattle mid season -- IMO Washington ends up as that guy and I made sure I kept him. I also just like Kolb alot this year as I think he is this years Matt Shaub or the Rivers of 2 years ago. While Brees is great I don't see more than a 2 points per game difference by end of season as I see a big gap in points per game with Greene and Forsett.
