Hamstring injury epidemic continues with Finley

Recommended Posts

This isn't your usual strained or torn hamstring (which is bad enough). This is a "displaced hamstring ligament." Anyone know anything about this type of injury? I've never heard of it.

Hope the big guy can bounce back.

Good news...I mean the fact that they are already reporting 1-2 weeks, even if it lingers an additional week,he will come back and it's not an ACL or something

I broke my own rule of not drafting a TE early to get this big SOB and now he has a dam "displaced" hamstring  what ever the fock that is. Guess now ill be using Johny "piece of garbage" Tightend for few weeks :wall:

Did the same sheet; I never draft a TE high, but there was Finley, staring me down the wang-hole. And I went for it.

Now I'm wondering whether to grab Anthony Fasano or Joel Dreessen.

Anybody rolling with Aaron Hernandez for the next few weeks?

Yep. I was considering the switch after the Moss trade. I think Hernandez will be very consistent.

Well I don't know about you guys but I wish I had reached EARLIER and gotten Antonio Fockin Gates!

A guy in my league drafted Gates in the 3rd....we were all over him. He's 4-1 DOH!

I hate to be the first guy in my league to draft a TE, but when it got to the fourth round (14-teams) there weren't any RBs or WRs I liked much so I took Gates. I remember thinking this was a huge mistake and I'd really regret not holding off until the 5th for Jermichael Finley, and how disappointed I was in myself for violating my own drafting philosophy, etc. And now I sit here at 4-1 and leading my team in total points, despite having to start Derek Anderson, David Garrard, Chad Henne and Sam Bradford, with Big Ben coming off the bye and pretty much loaded everywhere.

I guess my point is that I'm much smarter than you guys.

Anybody considering Quarless, assuming Finley is out? Off the field issues helped limit his production in college, but he was a four star recruit out of high school and showed flashes (including the Capitol One Bowl last year). How did he look, yesterday?

""""According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the initial diagnosis is that Finley's ligament fell back into place on hits own, so he avoided a tear. His status for Week 6 remains in serious doubt, with the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel predicting Finley will not play against the Dolphins. The good news is that Finley has avoided a long-term injury. He should be back in a few weeks.""""

Actually doesn't sound too serious....hopefully. And if you saw the play it's hard to believe there was an injury, but those things happen.

Here is what the CBS updates just emailed me.

* Finley could miss two weeks

The Packers official team website reports that TE Jermichael

Finley, who was carted off the field Sunday in Week 5 at

Washington, has injured a hamstring ligament and not a knee.

He said he had a ligament pop out of place and is scheduled

for an MRI on Monday. He was taken off the field in the

first quarter and did not return, and he was on the

sidelines with crutches. Finley told the website that he

thinks the injury will keep him out a week or two and is not

season ending. Finley came into the game with 21 catches for

301 yards and a touchdown on the season. He was injured when

he tried to make a tackle on the second play of the game,

after Redskins safety Kareem Moore picked up a fumble and

returned it. "I was like, 'Should I really tackle this guy,

because something crazy is about to happen?' In the back of

the mind, I was like, 'I shouldn't do this.' And I went

after it. And something in the back of my leg popped,"

Finley said.

We'll continue to keep you updated on Finley's injury

heading into Week 6 against Miami, but it sounds like he

will be out against the Dolphins. On top of Finley's injury,

Aaron Rodgers (concussion) was hurt against the Redskins,

and No. 2 TE Donald Lee (shoulder) also left the game. When

healthy, Finley is a must-start Fantasy TE, but be prepared

for him to miss the game against the Dolphins in Week 6.

Lets all hope that MRI does not find anything else too serious
