JTB 52 Posted November 19, 2010 I know, everyone makes so much more money in this place, but here is what my pay check looks like today. Gross Income = $15,537.91 Fed Tax = 3,538 SS Tax = 957 Medicare Tax = 224 PA State Tax = 474 Local Tax = 255 Right to Work Tax = 12 Remind me why I can't get pissed when I see money squandered away and misused. JTB 52 Posted November 19, 2010 If you make that much money on a monthly basis I'd just feel fortunate. A lot of people who kill for any work right now. Typical - I happened to study in HS, go to college, not get tattoos on my face and neck, not deal drugs, not have a mohawk or earings in every piece of skin on my body. I also, right out of college networked and hung aroung the right social circles and low and behold I got a job. Not making much money to start, but hard work, not bitching and moaning about the hours or pay and I moved up the ladder. Now, if there are people who have taken these steps and are out of work, I'm here to help. For the others who feel they are owed something...I say Fock off! I did basically the same thing, except i graduated from hi skool, dropped out of college, grew out my hair, got my girlfriend pregnant, got married, and got a job working in a large manufacturing facility. We're practically clones.

I considered that but he didn't identify any ways it was being squandered, he just complained about his tax burden in general. And taxes are historically speaking pretty low right now. I am not mad at paying tax, I just wish/hope it is going to the right things. I will argue it isn't. I mean, I am puting a lot of cash into a social security pot that is going broke and I will likely see nada from it.

I make considerably less then you do. My taxes are being wasted as well, but I get to watch them increase as we continue to pay for the 'wrong' things, IMO. Health care, welfare, etc. I get to receive less every month to pay for my family while I work hard. I get to pay for those who refuse to work, or those that feel that every cold needs and ER visit. It's the American way.

He works 80 hours a week and barely sees his family. He paid $92,000.00 in total taxes last year. He doesn't want to hear he's paying less know than they did 30 years ago.
