parrot 789 Posted April 27, 2011 This tread's title should read: Obama ..... it's over. White House releases Obama's original birth certificate There were two trains of thought here 1. Obama is no better than any other President and should be required to show his Birth Certificate. 2. Obama is special and should not have to show his Birth Certificate. The word of a couple people I don't know is good enough for me. To me it is pretty obvious who the fools are. Great point, other than the fact that he produced a perfectly valid and legal birth certificate long ago.
Greedo 13 Posted April 27, 2011 I would venture to guess must of the american public didn't even know about this nonsense unless they troll political forums on the internet or watch fox news. I only heard about it from here. Sane people don't pay attention to crap like this. Why should Trump apologize for forcing Obama to do what he should have done 3 years ago before this issue hurt the country? What injury has the country received, other than nut jobs that wasted time in which they could have been productive?
Recliner Pilot 61 Posted April 27, 2011 What injury has the country received, other than nut jobs that wasted time in which they could have been productive? Dunno. You would have to ask Obama I got that from a soundbite I heard on the radio from him announcing why he finally released it. Said the issue was hurting the country. I just threaded that worm on a hook to catch a few bored libs. Worked in you, Bishop, and DanIQ11. Hehe.
parrot 789 Posted April 27, 2011 What injury has the country received, other than nut jobs that wasted time in which they could have been productive? Not that they would have been. I think it actually did good for the country by giving a subset of really stupid people something to occupy themselves with when they might have been making real trouble. Like giving a puppy a chew toy to keep him off your shoes.

BunnysBastatrds 2,440 Posted April 27, 2011 http://www.thesmokinggun.com/buster/barack-obama/birth-obama-certer-movement-098513 This morning’s White House release of President Barack Obama’s long form birth certificate will, of course, do little to derail the “birther” movement, which will now analyze the document with the kind of verve previously directed toward those Texas Air National Guard memos faxed to CBS from that Kinko’s in Abilene. So here’s a few nutty points about the birth certificate sure to be seized upon by the nonbelievers: • If the original document was in a bound volume (as reflected by the curvature of the left hand side of the certificate), how can the green patterned background of the document's safety paper be so seamless? • Why, if Obama was born on August 4, 1961, was the “Date Accepted by Local Reg.” four days later on August 8, 1961? • What is the significance of the smudges in the box containing the name of the reported attendant? • David A. Sinclair, the M.D. who purportedly signed the document, died nearly eight years ago at age 81. So he is conveniently unavailable to answer questions about Obama’s reported birth. • In the “This Birth” box there are two mysterious Xs above “Twin” and “Triplet.” Is there a sibling or two unaccounted for? • What is the significance of the mysterious numbers, seen vertically, on the document’s right side? • Finally, the “Signature of Local Registrar” in box 21 may be a desperate attempt at establishing the document’s Hawaiian authenticity. Note to forgers: It is spelled “Ukulele.” It's not over.

DAVID RUFFIN 2 Posted April 27, 2011 Why should Trump apologize for forcing Obama to do what he should have done 3 years ago before this issue hurt the country? Exactly how did Obama hurt the country? The right wing crazies are the ones that made this an issue and they hurt the Republican brand in the process. parrot 789 Posted April 27, 2011 Maiden name IIRC? According to her(?!) wiki, 'Dunham' is the maiden name. NOW we gettin' somewhere!!!! Named after her father because he wanted a son, as a child and teenager she was known as Stanley. Other children teased her about her name but she used it through high school, "apologizing for it each time she introduced herself in a new town". Then she went mud-sharkin' to piss the old man off. That'll teach him!

DanXIII 8 Posted April 27, 2011 Obama should've waited until a week before the election to make the Teabagger Wingnuts look even stupider. Maybe, but I think this was timed to get out in front of the forthcoming book on the subject. I kind of feel bad for that author. His book will have to be reclassified as "fiction." DanXIII 8 Posted April 27, 2011 sure enough the hard-core dumbasses aren't going anywhere Obama trumps book on birth certificate By Stephen Lowman Jerome Corsi's "Where's the Birth Certificate?"Last week, Jerome Corsi's "Where's the Birth Certificate?: The Case that Barack Obama Is Not Eligible to be President " reached the top of Amazon's best-seller list — and it doesn't publish until May 17. Today the White House answered the question in the book's title by making public President Obama's long-form birth certificate. In light of the release, what happens to Corsi's book? WorldNetDaily, a conservative Web site based in Washington, D.C., is releasing Corsi's book through its publishing imprint, WND Books. In an interview with The Washington Post, publisher Joseph Farah said that he "fully expected this to happen" and takes credit for Obama releasing his birth certificate. "I'm delighted! I'm triumphant!" "There were two pressure points," Farah said. "This book and its success, and Trump's big megaphone. Those two things raised the stakes for Obama. He had to do something." And now that Obama has acted, is the question of his birth certificate moot? Farah is not giving up that easily. He said that producing the birth certificate won't end the debate. Debate? "Now we can have an intelligent discussion about what it means to be a natural born citizen," Farah said, suggesting in what direction conservatives will now push the issue. "If your father is Kenyan, how are you an American citizen? If your adopted step-father was Indonesian, how are you an American citizen? At best you are a dual-citizen." Farah takes issue with the legal fact that a child born in the United States is a citizen no matter the nationality of the parents. "We don't have clear definition about what it means to be a natural born citizen from the founders," Farah said. As for the book, Farah said there were no plans to update it before it release next month. Jerome Corsi isn't new to controversy. He co-wrote 2004's "Unfit For Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry," which accused Kerry of lying about his military service. The charges were widely discredited. He also wrote "The Late Great USA: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada" and "Atomic Iran," among other books. Farah, who spoke with Corsi earlier today, said the author's reaction was "just like I expected." "He is deeply suspicious of the authenticity of this document," Farah said, "and believes that we shouldn't jump to conclusion about it." NO SH!T?!?

titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted April 27, 2011 Seriously, the timing of this release is genius. The Birther nuts were starting to get stale. The hilarious "issue" was going away. So now, he releases it. Of course, many of the nuts will keep picking at it (like the post above) and make the Republicans look even more stupid. Brilliant. DanXIII 8 Posted April 27, 2011 Most American voters voted for him dumbass. And unless the Repubes can field someone more inspiring and less insipid than a walking toupee he will win in 2012 as well. He's been a pretty horrible choice, though. I thought maybe it would be worth it to have him as President just to read the daily posts by you and RP but unfortunately it wasn't. I wanted Hillary. But once the fear of Palin sitting in the oval office took over, I really felt I had no other choice.
