devouredbychaos 0 Posted February 6, 2012 Hats off to the Ginas. Great game by both teams, Welker catches that ball and the Pats win. That being said, Sheli still isn't elite. He may have won 2 SB's but he's still not in the same class as Brees Brady and Rodgers. Let me know when he throws for 4000, leads his team to a 14-2 record, and wins another SB..then I'll consider him elite. And to the Pats haters..Fock you I'm not going anywhere so enjoy my wonderful posts.

Bandwagon Pats fan?? Nah. I've been a fan since the Bledsoe days. Sure the Ginas have beaten my Pats, but that doesn't make Sheli elite. The Pats took the 31st ranked defense to the SB, it was a great year that none of us expected. Boston has been overrun with championships the past 10 years, you can't always win em all kids. I'd rather them make it this far and lose then be one and done again.

All too typical for a large percentage of Pats fans. If rings make you elite, Eli has become elite along with Brady, Roethlisberger. If it's not about rings then Peyton > Brady. To answer your question, it's because Eli has gotten a pass when he's bad, and a freakin' Crown when he's average. * btw,....i hope next year you have your Manning back so you don't have to borrow somebody else's

Chronic Husker 85 Posted February 6, 2012 Eli's been lights out for two straight months. Outplayed Rodgers on the road and outplayed Brady in the Super Bowl (again). Set the Super Bowl record for consecutive completions to start the game and didn't commit a turnover. STFU you sour grapes biotches.

dfin13 0 Posted February 6, 2012 Lmao. 3 > 2 He said Eli is clearly the better QB right now. Consider the head-to-head matchups between the two in the biggest game of the year, and you have 2 > 0. I'd give my left nut to have either one of them QBing the Dolphins, both are playing at an elite level, but you can't deny that Eli has gotten the best of Brady and the Patriots the last 3 meetings. dream_team 2 Posted February 6, 2012 I have never been a big Eli fan. I thought he got more credit than he deserved for simply being a "Manning"... I also thought he got criticized more for the same reason. I then laughed when he called himself "elite". This season, I watched him alot more than usual, because I had both Nicks & Cruz on my fantasy team. I have to say, I was really impressed by his play. In my book, he's listed as one of the league's elite QB's. He's one of the best at reading defenses and recognizing where the blitz is going to come from. He's extremely accurate and throws one of the best deep balls. What I'm most impressed with, though, is his poise in the pocket. He's not afraid to stay in the pocket and take a big hit, and it amazes me how durable the guy is. There are only three QBs I'd take over Eli (Brady, Brees, Rodgers). Yes, that includes Peyton (mainly because of his age & injury).

Dashow28 7 Posted February 6, 2012 Maybe Tom "God" Brady should step up and take some blame for his errant pass to Welker, instead of letting Welker be the fall guy. If Brady is so friggin good, he hits him on stride, possibily for a TD. I mean heck, the pedestal you Patriots fans and the media puts Brady on, I expect PERFECTION from the guy. I mean he's God, right? The guy is unbelievably overrated it's unreal. Give anybody as much time as he gets to throw and they'll pick a defense apart. What happens when he gets pressured, turns into Baby Brady. Nice that his wife is trying to blame others too instead of admitting that Brady could have done better, especially on the Welker pass. "Oh no somebody's going to get me, I better just throw it up!" Well, that happened twice, once for a safety and once for an INT to a D-LINEMAN!!!! Stand in there like a man and take the hit Brady, I mean, you're ELITE, aren't you? As for Eli, I've never really liked the guy that much, but he proved this year that he is ELIte. The guy completes so many 3rd down conversions, it's unreal. At this point you can never count the guy out. And boy is he tough. He make look a little funny, or maybe even look fragile because he doesn't have a very big frame on him, but he is one tough SOB. He doesn't get nearly enough credit for his toughness. Guy got destroyed in the Niners game constantly, and he just kept going. You don't see him crying to the refs after a player side swipes his knee, like God Brady. Eli said he was elite before the season and got bashed for it, well guess what? He has now reached ELITE status. Get over it, haters!
RedzoneMonster 107 Posted February 6, 2012 If he were playing at the level he was in 2007 and won again I'd say he's a "good" QB in a good situation, but if you've actually watched NYG games this year you'd have seen he's made some spectacular throws. Has threaded the needle SO many times and made SO many great 3rd down converstion passes this year it kills me a s a Jet fan. Its rare to see a QB take such big steps 7 yrs into their career, but he def did. Eli haters should just shut up and maybe focus thier attention on other pressing questions....like is BRADY still elite?!!
dfin13 0 Posted February 6, 2012 Well, that happened twice, once for a safety and once for an INT to a D-LINEMAN!!!! Blackburn is a linebacker. But yeah, put some pressure on Brady and knock his WRs around a bit, and he becomes ordinary. Same can be said for a lot of QBs I guess, but we're supposed to expect more composure from Brady. Stand in there like a man and take the hit Brady, I mean, you're ELITE, aren't you? Well put. Brady is just a system QB that's been playing 5 yard pitch and catch since Randy (I can make Dante Culpepper look like Montana) Moss left. He simply isn't the Great QB the media makes him out to be and can't make all the throws that Eli can. Brady alone bears the responsibility for missing a wide open Welker and a wide open Gronk. Hit Welker in stride and it's the ballgame. If he throws that pass to Gronk a few yards further, even a gimpy Gronk makes the catch and the TD instead of an INT. Brady will be a HOF* for sure but there will always be questions regarding those Rings he won during the Spygate era. PERIOD..........or should I say *.
