It's time for another summer of Look-Alike Player threads...if you're new to the Board, every few days during the summer, I will try to post a thread that lists two players who are very close in value in redraft situations. Simply vote for the player you feel should be drafted first and then add comments about your selection if you would like.

This is non-PPR for Look-Alike matchups that involve RBs, WRs, or TEs. Just standard point for every 10 yards and 6 for TDs.

Our Eighth Look-Alike player matchup of the summer is: LeSean McCoy vs. Ray Rice

Previous matchup results

Miles Austin over Dez Bryant, 19-16.

Steven Jackson over Frank Gore, 20-7.

Matthew Stafford over Cam Newton, 31-9.

Victor Cruz over Jordy Nelson, 16-7.

Jamaal Charles over DeMarco Murray, 15-14.

Jeremy Maclin over DeSean Jackson, 29-4.

Matt Ryan over Peyton Manning, 14-10.

Thanks for your participation!!

It's super close. I think I'd give the edge to Rice b/c Baltimore is lacking play makers and Philly isn't.

That plus Vick barely had any rushing tds last year, Maclin was sickly, and Djax was MIA.

And I'll take Rice over McCoy

Slight edge to McCoy. Rice will be more of the focus on his team, but I think the Eagles may have an explosive offense this year, and give me the guy on a team scoring a lot of points.

Love to see the vote even at 8-8. I'm on board for another special year for Rice. He's the back who has a better chance of repeating last year's numbers imo.

It seems like Rice might be a better bet for more touches and more possibly more catches if that matters in your league. McCoy is rumored to be split out wide more often but there has been talk of possibly scaling back his touch count.

Rice

2009 254 rushes, 78 catches

2010 307 rushes, 63 catches

2011 291 rushes, 76 catches

McCoy

2009 155 rushes, 40 catches

2010 207 rushes, 78 catches

2011 273 rushes, 48 catches

'Eagles coach Andy Reid admitted that he overplayed LeSean McCoy last season.

McCoy racked up 321 touches in just 15 games, which works out to just over 18 a week. Expect that number to decline by a touch or three in 2012. Reid mentioned sophomore Dion Lewis as a player he wanted to get more involved. One of rookies Bryce Brown and Chris Polk could also be worked into the mix. McCoy should still be a top-three overall pick in fantasy leagues.'

'Coach Andy Reid suggested LeSean McCoy might have a lighter workload this season to extend his shelf life.

McCoy's carries increased by 66 while his receptions decreased by 30 last season. Even after sitting out the season finale, McCoy had more combined touches (321) than all but three backs last year. While he will remain a strong RB1, McCoy can't be expected to repeat 20 touchdowns again.'

'LeSean McCoy played more snaps than any running back in the league last season.

McCoy was on the field for 81.1 percent of the Eagles' plays from scrimmage, well ahead of second-place Ray Rice. It's the kind of usage Andy Reid used to give to Brian Westbrook annually. McCoy is the rare three-down and goal-line back in an explosive offense and projects for another 300-plus touch season.'

'The Philadelphia Inquirer suspects there may be more smoke than fire to the Eagles' pledge to scale back LeSean McCoy's touches.

As beat writer Jeff McLane notes, Andy Reid would often say similar things about Brian Westbrook in offseasons, then rarely use Correll Buckhalter "when games were played." Observed OC Marty Mornhinweg, "(McCoy) has an opportunity to be one of the great ones." Mornhinweg also pledged to move McCoy "around a little bit more" in 2012, possibly giving him snaps at slot receiver. McCoy's carries may drop, but he could just as easily catch more passes.'

Rice had better numbers and no more Ricky -- I did wish he would of played under a Franchise Tag instead of signing a deal -- never great when your stud just got his big payday. Still I take Rice

think becasue of Ben Tate Rice and McCoy are the top 2 PPR Backs an Foster is 3

I voted Rice, but these numbers are the reason why I even gave pause to think about McCoy. The workload for Rice has been pretty heavy for three years running now. 332, 370 and 367 touches in that time is a ton by today's RB standards. But I think Rice has one more year of high volume touches before it starts to catch up with him.

I'm an Eagles homer and I LOVE Shady (and have him in a Dynasty PPR) but I voted for Rice. Just more opportunity. I think Shady is 2nd to none in talent but the Eagles are stacked with offensive weapons and this will limit him. Last year may have been a career year (and not just a career year to-date).
