mmmmm...beer 814 Posted August 26, 2012 So we go to Paranorman in the last couple days. Movie is mediocre at best as the animation movies go. A bit slow at times. Then we start getting into how everyones okay... it's all okay. Bullying in any form is bad. Which I'm okay with I guess, but I think there's something to be said for having to take/give a little teasing as a kid in order to grow that thick skin as an adult or your a focking wreck of a person when someone can say something you don't want to hear and you fall apart. So it goes on like that... everyone is different and okay. Mind you this is a show for kids probably 5-12ish. Low and behold... towards the very end, out of nowhere with no reason. One of the main male teenage characters starts talking about his boyfriend. I'm all like..... wtf? This guy is the "jock". My son 8, looks at me like... wtf? Fock... Thanks a focking lot creaters of corroline... thanks for your motherfocking hollywood agenda that now I need to have a conversation with my kid over. Yeah... I knew it was coming. We live in the city but motherfock... in a childrens movie I paid motherfocking money to see? Now you force my hand you focking @ssholes? Be warned... if you haven't or don't feel the need to pay to be politically ramroded don't take your kids to this piece of sh!t. The movie is lackluster... with a nice big gay d!ck in your ass. Two thumbs b!tches. The wife and I were not amused.

Reality 3,121 Posted August 26, 2012 Thanks for the heads up, I have a 9 year old and was thinking about seeing this movie today. Just another example of why I truly believe liberalism is a mental disorder. They are everything they claim to hate, they have to jam their agenda down your throat. jerryskids 6,960 Posted August 26, 2012 From the MPAA review as per IMDB: Sex & Nudity 3/10 A boy pauses his mother's exercise video and looks at her buttocks. Norman jokingly says he was watching "sex and violence" on TV to his parents. Norman's teen sister ogles at Mitch since he is shirtless. A teenage male character talks about having a boyfriend. Alvin grabs Courtney's buttocks, and Courtney makes a comment. You don't see this. A teenage girl is very curvaceous, and wears tight pants with her buttocks sticking out. From the MPAA rating description: PG — Parental Guidance Suggested. Some Material May Not Be Suitable For Children. A PG-rated motion picture should be investigated by parents before they let their younger children attend. The PG rating indicates, in the view of the Rating Board, that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children, and parents should make that decision. The more mature themes in some PG-rated motion pictures may call for parental guidance. There may be some profanity and some depictions of violence or brief nudity. But these elements are not deemed so intense as to require that parents be strongly cautioned beyond the suggestion of parental guidance. There is no drug use content in a PG-rated motion picture.PG-13 — Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13. A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. The theme of the motion picture by itself will not result in a rating greater than PG-13, although depictions of activities related to a mature theme may result in a restricted rating for the motion picture. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented. There may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 movie, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context. The Rating Board nevertheless may rate such a motion picture PG-13 if, based on a special vote by a two-thirds majority, the Raters feel that most American parents would believe that a PG-13 rating is appropriate because of the context or manner in which the words are used or because the use of those words in the motion picture is inconspicuous. I'd say that by the definitions, the PG rating was appropriate. If the kid being ghey were a major thematic point, I'd argue it should get a PG-13. That being said, to throw in a random reference to a ghey character is obviously pushing an agenda, and I'll be interested to see if this impacts the overall viewership as word of this gets out. Just another example of why I truly believe liberalism is a mental disorder. They are everything they claim to hate, they have to jam their agenda down your throat. Their "agenda" is that everyone has a right to live as they see fit, and that people's life choices should be tolerated. Wow, what insidious stuff. That said, I disagree with putting homosexual storylines in children's movies. Parent's should have that discussion with their kids when they see fit. Just to play devil's advocate here... but shouldn't kids that are growing up in a same sex household, get to see something that's representative and relatable to their experiences? I haven't seen the movie, but it's not like they showed two guys kissing or anything, right? Just a mention of another male having a boyfriend...
mmmmm...beer 814 Posted August 26, 2012 I remember the first time I saw blacks. Damn Fat Albert cartoons. It was traumatizing. Ohhh yes. Of course lets of course bring in the comparison that someone being gay is just like someone being black. I'm sure our black brothers and sisters with living family members recall "gays only" fountain right next to theirs. If I was black I'd actually be pretty pissed at the comparison. Once again.... rats ass about weiners and butts. Just not their job to slide stupid sh!t into my kids movies. Fock off troll... I'm done responding to you tiki. That did get pretty over the top enviro... as a half native american I can see how they pandered a bit there with their comparisons. Great visual effects though... and though he was the villain I rooted for "the general" because he was such a military bad ass.... like the part where he was out in unbreathable air shooting the fock out of his assault rifle knowing the air was deadly... but he just had to get some lead downrange b!tches. FeelingMN 273 Posted August 26, 2012 Just not their job to slide stupid sh!t into my kids movies. Their job was to make a movie....which they did. It is therefore their movie, not your kids. Your job is to figure out what your kids are viewing; even if it's a children's movie. Seems like you want someone else to screen the content of what your children view before you do. Screw that. Lots of homosexuals in the Twin Cities. The issue is bound to come up sooner rather than later. I get that you were taken off guard but the world is filled with "stupid sh!t". Can't keep 'em from it forever.

You expect a movie, made for children to be to be a bit more innocent when it comes to stuff like that. So any new little kids show that comes out, parents should be looking up before hand and doing some pre-screening? That's crap and you know it. Until now it seemed you could be pretty sure you were spending the money to just allow them to have a little fun watching a cartoon. It's not like we took them to watch the focking family guy where you know there's going to be stuff you don't need your kid exposed too. And no... it wasn't the whole show. It was just obviously put in there very blatantly to get their political view to your small child with no warning.
