Rg3 worth waiver claim?

Recommended Posts

Some ding bat dropped RG3 for RIVERS!!!!!

I'm #2. I own Romo and Vick. I m tempted to pass. thinking in upcoming weeks there might be a substantial person to claim that could really help my team.

Thoughts?

If you get to keep your waiver spot throughout the year I'd save it. My leagues usually reset every week so there is no point in ever saving it, and usually I have the worst waiver spot anyway for winning/points.

If anything I'd package Romo in a 2 for 1, then grab RG3 to backup Vick. But most people won't trade for QBs so I don't know what you'd get with it. The past few years I've had 2 top 3 QBs on my roster (Brees and Newton, Rodgers and Stafford, Brees and RG3, Peyton and Romo/Wilson) and I've never been able to trade the second QB. I even had one year where I had Favre, Rodgers and some other top QB that year, and just gave up and dropped one.

Passing on RGIII because you have Vick & Romo? You must be hurting at your RB/WR depth or have shallow benches if you're passing on RGIII. Not bagging on you since I play in an IDP heavy league where it's tough to roster many bench players but I'd drop someone else & trade Vick/Romo.

6 Teamer, or are the wives and kids playing too?

He has Romo & Vick, not hard to come by in a 12 team league. That said I think it depends on who you think can stay healthy. My guess is rg.

It depends on your depth. If you have enough WRs and RBs to start and get through the byes, you could claim him. #1 if Romo or Vick gets hurt or underperforms, then you have another starting option. #2, If they all do well, you may have great trading material among all 3 for later on to someone who is hurting at QB. Lastly, its called "Keep Away". If he's stashed on your bench, its keeping him away from the opposition. Think fast. He should not be out there long.

What is this, amateur hour? I was not assessing his roster. My point was RG3 should not we on a WW... Especially in a 12 team league. As Commissioner of this league, that would be a major red flag/concern.

Then say it that way and not the way you did.

You attack someone, get called out on it, and then whine about how "everyone else" is wrong.

That's actually a sign of psychosis. As in it's in the DSM. It's not everybody else...it's you.

Yes, it's me... That plays 12 Teamers and a player such as RG3 will never hit the WW.

Which I find mind-boggling... I just want to know how that happens. Kinda like the path of a hurricane or the lack of economic development in third world countries. These are all mysteries to me, but I've gone to far.

Who do I start Vick or Kaepernick? Matt Ryan sucks. Fock Jimmy Graham, I'm 1-0 in all eight of my leagues...The Patriots suck!

Aw, there we go with the regular forum material.

In conclusion, if Robert Griffin III is on your waiver wire, I suggest you pick him up. What an excellent opportunity.

This board kinda sucks. Every other post is "how the heck did _________ get dropped/not get drafted? 2 team league?"

yawn

i think vick+RG equals 1 16-game QB2. as vick is getting banged up and worn down, RG is going to be recovering and getting more proficient with the offense.

There are also many competitive leagues that have owners that make stupid moves. And sometimes those moves don't turn out to be so stupid after all.

In the OP's case RG3 would definitely be worth a waiver claim IMO, but maybe someone who had Manning and Vick (still attainable in 12-team leagues) would have a tougher decision to make.

Few books have caused more harm to our society as a whole. The DSM is awful, written by drug companies for drug companies.

EDIT: Pick up RG3 now.

The point is:

1. this isn't the team mgmt board.

2. no one cares about your team roster. we all have team rosters. some of us many team rosters.

3. you already knew SOMEONE should own RG3 in a 10 team league (the fact he was picked up for Rivers shows the person who did it is new or a rube).

4. this thread adds zero redeemable value to the FFtoday community. it gives no insight or knowledge and makes you look foolish for asking.

I posted the roster due to the comments on roster size, league, etc. I realize no one gives an f about it nor do i care about anyone elses.

As for the league its been very competitive since I joined and this is by far the worst drop I've ever seen in its exsistance or in any fantasy league I've been in.

I was merely looking for insight on whether I should burn the waiver due to my qb sulituation being very serviceable.

I realize RG3 shouldn't be dropped and is a no brainer pickup off waivers. Only reason I debated not doing it is bc I could potentially have two top 10 qbs already if healthy for a yr and didn't want to miss out on something I could really use.

I've had same issue...it wouldn't have reset but too much to pass up even though I didn't need him

With the way RG3 is playing, everyone is going to drop him in a few weeks. I don't know how big the benches are for most people on this site, but people on here talk about rostering 4-5 RBs, which I like to do myself, but at the same time are also carrying 3 QBs, 5 WRs, 2 TEs. What kind of rosters are these? In my leagues roster spots are a premium because the benches are not unlimited. You have to actually decide on value and if a player can be useful to you. People on here on one side of their mouths insist you should wait on QB because the position is so deep, but then turn around and say you should carry 3 QBs? Huh? If it's deep that means you only carry a starter, someone you think is going to finish top 5 ideally.

Only pick up RG3 if you project him to be in at least the top 80% of your league size (so if you're in a 10 teamer, he has to be a top 8 projected by you). Use your other roster spots for RB depth, and maybe a spot or two on WR breakouts.

He is now a liability on a fantasy squad. Hard to drop, but equally hard to start. He looks bad out there. He clearly is not beating Peterson for quick turnarounds.

Maybe he shouldn't have dropped RG3, but it's looking like the OP's leaguemate made a good decision by picking up Rivers.
