Sup yall?

What are your guy's no-holds barred thoughts on Brandin Cooks? I've been watching a lot of highlight packages of potential receivers and linemen, jacking myself up (up!) for the draft. I think I'm in love with the guy. I know he would be another midget, but pairing him with Harvin would be just a crazy amount of athleticism on the field.

For my fantasy wr rankings, I have him as my #5 WR in the draft.

He's alot like Tavon Austin from last year, but I think Cook is twice as good. I was never really sold on Austin. I think alot of his value came from the Geno Smith hype. And the fact that he played next to a severly under rated Stedman Bailey. Cook I think is the real deal. But like you said. We already have a Cook on the teamin Harvin. Who's very highly paid and really great himself (when he does play). I'm not to sure if from a team standpoint they'd want to use #32 on him. I say 32 because I don't expect him to still be on the board at #64.

But yes, I do like him. However I also don't pick until #14 in my draft, so I won't be getting him.

Well money over a ring won out for Jared Allen. Enjoy losing in Chicago.

4-year, $32 million deal with $15.5 million guaranteed, can void down to a 3-year, $24 million deal

Wow. That's a bunch of cash. In the end, Jared Allen wasn't looking to compete for a title, but go to a team where his ego will shine and stuff more cash into his overflowing pockets, and be less effective in getting his footing on that shitty Chicago field. But at least he stinks against the run, so he has that going for him.

So, why did Chicago get rid of Peppers? The NFL is weird.

I say f0ck Jared Allen.

We're the defending Superbowl champions. We're one of the youngest teams in the league. Even if we don't win another one, we're gonna still be a force for years to come. We have one of the best owners in not only football, but all of professional sports. A very good GM. A head coach that just got voted #1 as the head coach people would want to play for. A state of the art stadium with one of (if not the) best home field advantages and fans in the game. And an off season practice facility thats top notch.

I'm not begging anyone to come play here. There's nothing to think about. You either want to or you don't.

Jared Allen can lick my ballz. I'd pull the offer off the table right now.

I DON"T WANT HIM!

:pointstosky:

Wasn't just money. Apparently Jared Allen's wife visited the city of Seattle twice with him, and didn't care for the city nor the weather.

So, I guess daily dozen murders on the streets, and wind, and a few dozen yards of snow every winter...now THAT she likes. Are you serious? Hey, Jared, not for nothing, but take some parting advice. Who's the head of the household? Me thinks some yippy broad needs to learn her role and shut her mouth.

Holy cow. That's a trainwreck.

PC stated that Tony McDaniel becomes the new Red Bryant, Cliff Avril becomes the new Chris Clemmons. My guess is Bruce Irvin becomes the new Cliff Avril.

Seahawks signed CB Phillip Adams to one year deal.

On Oakland past two seasons. Punt returner, special teams player, played solidly two years, but was miscast in a terrible defensive scheme last season. Could be a decent depth player. But, I suspect punt returner was the key point of the signing since Golden Tate is no longer with the team.

Bruce Irvin is a turnstile vs the run. He can't get off the block at the line of scrimmage still. He is not the new Cliff Avril. He has to build up a head of steam to get in on the play. But, you can't start him at LB over Bobby Wager nor KJ Wright. Malcolm Smith is the guy that can play any LB spot, but I think you have to start him now. I'd put in Irvin situationally, in space, to rush the passer. But Irvin at DE makes me physically ill. He's a bust, and if the coaches haven't figured it out yet, I'd be more physically ill. We just keep missing with these early picks. Carpenter, Moffitt, Irvin, Tate was mediocre. Okung and Thomas were no brainers and top 15 picks. I rant and rave on draft day on those early picks, but honestly, how often do I turn out to be right in the end about the ones I hate the most? Despite how good our current front office has been with everything else they do, they just don't get the early draft picks right. If Girl's Name doesn't do something this year, it's really going to start to look bad. And of course Russell Wilson went in the 3rd round and Bobby Wagner went in the 2nd round, so I will give them due credit for those too. Still hitting below .500

 reports are Oakland was offering Allen 9 million a year. Isn't anybody willing to overpay old vets like the Oakland Raiders.

It's simply amazing. A guy is sitting out there for weeks, and suddenly a bidding war starts up as soon as Seattle gets close to signing him. Oakland has to sign bodies just to meet the cap minimum.

Cutler restructured his contract to help get Allen. Meanwhile, Chicago sunk an ungodly amount of money into their defensive line. How the hell is that financial sanity? Ah, fock 'em. Good luck with winning a Super Bowl with Cutler. Oakland has a better chance.

Everytime I hear Carpenters name, or even see it for that matter. I always remember the screenshot of Nick Saban laughing sitting in the audience. Yep, bust.

Irvin, I didn't even know who he was at the time. I'm gonna wait until this season to see what he does. But unless he's great. Yep, bust.

Moffitt, yep, bust. But at least I can say I whiffed on him also. I loved the pick/player at the time.

Yes those first 2 rounders have been bust (except for the obvious). However if it makes you feel any better. You can't get any closer to round 3 than #64. So I got a good feeling about our 2nd rounder this year. I'll consider it a 3rd.

How stupid is Moffitt? He was on the roster of both teams that faced off in the Super Bowl this year, but he quit way back early on, missed out on all the fun, and then gets busted for dealing drugs.

They won't cut Irvin this year, because he is fast, and he is a body. But getting one sack and one pick for an entire season just ain't going to cut it. He doesn't make plays. And his rookie year, he made an impact in the first half of the Green Bay game, and that was about it. You don't notice him in a game, ever.

Carpenter, as much as I've sh!t on him and wanted him dead, his family dead, his house burned to the ground...can still make this team. Clearly the team isn't going to pick up his option for next year, as it would cost 5+ million. He's making maybe 2 million this year. It's a contract year, basically. He's playing for a contract either here or somewhere else in this league which is more likely. He's been hurt and out of shape his entirety of his career. Is he hurt because he doesn't work out, or does he get fat because he's hurt? Chicken or the egg? One thing for sure is that he lacks passion. Just an empty vessel. A whole lot of nothing. Sometimes he looks OK when he's playing next to Okung, but I think a hat rack would look good lined up next to Okung. He hasn't been able to win that job. But right now, there are a lot of spots on the OL on this team. Okung, Unger, Bowie, Bailey, Sweezey, and Jeanpierre are probably locks to make the team. Carpenter is just another guy, but he has the physical tools to be an NFL starter. He just can't get in shape, can't get motivated, can't get healthy. If he can't figure it out this year, he might fall out of the league. So, you have to figure that there's a chance, right? Or do I sound like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber talking to the red head in the hotel room. I'd say like more like one out of a million. So you're telling me there's a chance? YEAH!!

The safety from Pittsburgh, Ryan Clark, visited but left without a signing. I know that Jeron Johnson is in the mix behind Kam Chancellor. Would he be capable of backing up Earl Thomas too? Dual role? Well, we should still bring in other bodies, but Clark looks like he would cost too much since he's basically a starter in this league and we are looking for a backup.

We would have to be insane not to bring in OG Mike Brisiel for a visit. He just got cut from Oakland, a bit of a veteran who specializes in zone blocking and got edged out of a job by change in scheme and new players being brought in, and could probably be signed for a song.

Interesting comments by Jedi John Schneider about FA. Basically they are following a model set forth and have made decisions based on that model allowing for attrition (Clemons, Tate, Bryant). It's nice to see the team has a plan and they are following it and not letting emotion get in the way. Does this mean these are the correct decisions? We'll find out. But I like the direction and structure.

Well, I've started putting together the 'ole draft board. This year, we get extra time to do it, but it's habit forming to do it this time of year so what can you do?

Both are Tennessee kids. I have OT Antonio "Tiny" Richardson going towards the end of the 2nd round so that certainly puts him in the wheelhouse of a guy that might get drafted by us. If Cable signs off on it. I seriously doubt we reach for him with the 1st round pick and trading down this year will be virtually impossible. Personally, I'd rather they go outside of the SEC to draft for offensive linemen, as I think they do better picking them from other conferences (Big Twelve: Okung, Bowie; ACC: Sweezey) than in it (SEC: Carpenter, although Bailey is a positive but was UFA). Big Ten is a stay away too (Moffitt).

Ju'wuan (or is it Ja'wuan, I've heard it both ways) James figures to go around the spot Seattle traded out of in the 3rd round to Minnesota for Harvin. I doubt he lasts until our 4th round pick as I think he goes top 100, but if there is enough questions about his health or attitude, you never know. I seriously doubt we reach for him with the 2nd round pick.

Great info. I only scout the skill positions for fantasy purposes. QB,RB,WE,TE. And I've historicly been bad at QB and TE also. So anytime you guys give me anything for other positions, I love it.

We don't have a 3rd, and then day 2 is usually depth purposes or guys that someone on the staff really likes and wants.

So we're basically looking at our 1 and 2 to be THE man. If the draft was today our most glaring needs would be for me. WR and Oline.

As far as I go. This is probably one of the best/deepest wr classes I can even remember. I've also had buddies tell me it's a really good Oline class too.

So if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck. Are those our first 2 position picks?

Yeah, unless we get some very good value at a position, most people would expect our first two picks to probably go in the direction of OL and WR. Although, it would not surprise me if we took a Defensive linemen or a pass catching TE, or maybe FS. We will not take a RB nor LB in the first two rounds, and that's about all you can cross off the list.

It's interesting that we are looking at OT prospects specifically, as those two kids in that article play tackle. Gives insight on what they want to take first in the draft, tackle over guard.

He's a late first round pick. He's the fastest WR in the draft but only 5' 9". He's being compared to Desean Jackson. Which is the rub, because the Eagles are drafting right about where I think he would get drafted, and he would fit in Kelly's offense. He's an Oregon St product, and the front office is all over the Pacific Northwest in scouting these guys (Angry Doug Baldwin, Jevon Kearse). He's probably somewhere around the third to fifth WR off the board. And it's not just Philly that could replace a guy they just released. Fat Andy Reid drafted Desean Jackson so you know he likes this type of weapon, so he's sitting their at #23. Carolina at #28 needs WRs desperately. I'm sure New England and San Diego need some weapons to throw to. And San Francisco keeps getting rumored in picking up a WR in free agency, so they could just draft one, no matter how much they need secondary help. Eh, it dicey if Seattle ever gets a shot to draft him, but it might be a possibility, considering how well Wilson throws the long ball and the guys speed.

If I were a betting man, I'd say Kelvin Benjamin is WR the Seahawks want at #32.

A 6'5" WR red zone target is what this offense needs. Some really unique measurable which the Seahawks love. Excellent run blocker. Good leaper. Makes the contested catch in traffic. Yeah, this is the guy they want.

Well let's get it started! Apparently Dan Quinn was at the Louisville pro day looking at Marcus Smith.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfBbKM2LfXw

OLB/DE. He's a tweener, think Bruce Irvin type. Not as fast, but a bit better vs the run, not as good in coverage. Louisville moved him around on defense as the situation warranted it. He had some kind of undisclosed injury a while back, which gives one some pause. It's debatable whether he is highly thought of enough to go in the 3rd round or if he falls to the later rounds. I'm thinking he might be around in the 4th when our pick comes up. So, it's a possibility. His strength is quickness getting off the snap and getting and effective pass rush initiated, but can be manhandled easily by two blockers.

Seahawks signed head coach Pete Carroll to a three-year extension through 2017.

Carroll has posted a 71-57 career record as a head coach, dating back to stints with the Jets and Patriots, and his record the past two seasons in Seattle is 24-8 with a Super Bowl 48 trophy. Carroll's style of play has arguably revolutionized today's NFL, as in a "copy-cat league" many teams have begun playing press coverage on defense while running the ball first on offense. Carroll also plays a major role in personnel decisions, along with GM John Schneider. In Pat Daugherty's head-coaching rankings column, Carroll came in second to only Bill Belichick. Daugherty's article can be accessed at the link below.

O.K. Now I've actually heard 2 conflicting reports, and I'm not sure which is right?

1 says it's a 3 year extension, and he's signed through 2017

The 2nd is saying they ripped up the final year of his 5 year deal (this year) And it's a brand new contract starting this season. This would be through the 2016 season?

supposedly there are 8 or 9 WRs that carry 1st round grades. Could see one of them slip to the Hawks. The thing is, what we do NOT have is a highly talented and tall receiver for the red zone. Cooks may be a lot of things, but tall is not one of them.

I'm gonna say 5 wr's go in round 1 this year, with Cooks being 1 of them.
