Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots: In-Game Discussion

Recommended Posts

What comes out of these playoffs is two things:

1) Indy was the pretender in these playoffs;

2) McCarthy and Capers need to grow some balls.

As much as I detest the Colts, I still feel almost sorry for them getting humiliated on the national stage.

That is, until I remember Irsay sucking for Luck and screwing Manning...and then I've gotta smile. :)

this is hilarious

The NFL is looking into whether footballs were properly inflated by the Patriots during Sunday's AFC Championship Game.

We've had Spygate and now we have Deflategate. The NFL requires game balls inflated with between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds of air. Anything less than that could help increase grip for Tom Brady in the passing game, and the officials during Sunday's game thought there was reason to take several balls out of play and weigh them. A source told the Indy Star that if the NFL's investigation confirms purposefully deflated balls, it could result in lost draft picks for the Patriots. Of course, the Colts had no shot in this game if it were played with a beach ball as they got absolutely hammered 45-7.

BELICHEAT!

Figured i come on here and someone would have started own thread about how Patriots cheated again. Patriots could have won playing with a brick. If i was going to try and "cheat" i would probably do it to gain an advantage. Luck and Colts used and had access to same exact balls the Patriots did. Guess Luck could say the balls were too soft causing him to complete only 36.4% (12 of 33) of passes for only 126 yards.

Sounds to me like someone was just butt hurt that Indy got sparked that bad. Even if I wasn't biased towards the patriots the lengths people go to to justify why a team lost is absurd. No one can just lose with grace anymore. Someone has to "cheat" to have beaten them. Last week it was with not declaring a receiver in eligible til the last moment. Now it's the balls were too low on air. Next week it could be the grass was too thick.

My understanding is that the balls in question were manipulated by Patriots ball boys, and were the balls NE used on offense; not Indy.

Even so, the refs still inspect the ball each time before play. If something was wrong with it they would/should have noticed and gotten a different ball.

I hope someone is not that stupid. It be hard to stop some ball boys from telling people they were told to only give certain balls while NE was on offense. Cause i read where the home team provides 36 balls and the balls are to be inspected by refs

Its similar to baseball when you rub few dozen balls up before game and umps look at them. When i started id find the ball that felt the smallest and warm up with it and make sure to take it to mound with me. And usually the ump would ask to look at it before started throwing but sometimes he wouldnt. That was college baseball but still similar. If i got a scuffed ball i damn well wouldnt throw it in thats for sure. Put your fingers on the scuff works the best.

So this justifies the cheating attempt?

It's embarrassing.

So the league had to make up a reason for Indys loss?

Come on this is not a fan story like bad calls. It's a league and official issue. Sounds like you will lose draft picks again for cheating

Bill will always be known as a cheater

I don't care if it was a blowout. The intent was to cheat. If they won by a field goal would you feel differently about the cheating?

might want to check the scoreboard, let me know "if" it has changed.

How do you even know they attempted to cheat? You're assuming it's already been proven that they attempted to cheat. I don't care what team it was. For someone to say "Oh the game was way too one sided they must have cheated. Had to be a deflated ball they used" is absurd. Come on man. Think a little. If all the balls they used were purposely deflated you think the officials wouldn't have noticed and gotten completely different balls for the game instead of kept using the altered ones? How come this issue wasn't brought up until after the game? It's the same as last week with ravens complaining patriots cheated with not declaring receivers in eligible til the last second. Someone just whining cause they lost

Note to Colts. Maybe just maybe, when your down 17-7 at halftime in the AFC Championship, instead of calling your General Manager in his box to tell him some balls feel flat you might want to try and figure out how to win the game?? Just an idea.....actually it doesnt matter because after worrying about the PSI in the football the Patriots outscored you 21-0 in 3rd quarter.
