Boy the Royals fans are stuffing the ballot box...

C'mon, you know Omar Infante's .617 OPS screams All-Star!

there are currently 5 royals.. the royals to me are like the Atlanta Hawks. Im not sure I see any one of them as deserving of a start.

I'd have Marcus Semien over Escobar

Vogt over Salvador Perez

Brantely should be up there in OF and Torii Hunter is completely overlooked. I honestly wouldn't have Cain OR Gordon in there. Trout, Brantley and Hunter

Moustakas... .327 with 4 homers and 15 RBI? This is better than Josh Donaldson and his .300 10 homers 27 rbi? Longoria .280 5 homer 21 RBI? Machado .281 6 homers 19 rbi 7 steals? <_< i guess he only has 3 errors...

I definitely have to disagree on Torii Hunter. He has been a good, not great offensive player and is very limited defensively. At the moment I would take Reddick (better on both sides of the ball), Cain (comparable OPS, miles better on defense), Gordon (comparable offensively, far better defensively), and I would even consider Anthony Gose IF he maintains his production.

At second base, Jason Kipnis should be in control right now. Kinsler was off to a great start but is stuck in a 2 for 27 slump, and Altuve is struggling at the plate (by his standards).

At shortstop, Semien is probably at the top by default. Iglesias has hit the inevitable regression from his ridiculous .377 April, but if he can find a middle ground between the first two months, his defense is enough to push him to the top.

No arguments on Vogt over Perez.

I would probably go Donaldson over Moustakas, though it isn't a huge gap so far this season.

Cruz and Cabrera are real simple calls at DH and 1B. Trout is the only no doubt OFer so far.

gordons offensive numbers are undwhelming for an all star (same with my boy adam jones.... as are Cains, IMO. for the three AL outfielders I'd still go with Trout and Brantley over any of the others. I could see a case for reddick. i could make a case for han ram as well. Hunter has 1 error and 74 put outs in 34 games from a defensive standpoint. At his age, he is still amazing. I understand if you want to leave him off for a reddick or ramirez. out of the KC guys ill take Cain. def not Gordon.

and still no way Escobar and Perez lead Semien and Vogt. thats tragic.

While Perez has better defensive numbers they are so slightly better that the offensive numbers swing it wayyy in Vogts favor. Semien does have a lot of errors but better offensive numbers, more double, homers, steals. If you want to argue just based on defensive prowess then I could make a case for Aybar over Escobar.

I think you are putting way too much stock in home run totals. Ramirez hits for a lower average than every outfielder I mentioned, doesn't draw walks at all, and even with the ten homers he doesn't make the top 5 in slugging among AL outfielders. Throw in the fact he hasn't homered in nearly a month and has three extra base hits in his last 74 at bats...oh, he also is extremely poorly rated defensively.

You call Gordon's offensive numbers extremely underwhelming while pumping Hunter...Hunter and Gordon both have 15 extra base hits, Torii has a slightly higher slugging % from the two extra home runs, while Gordon gets on base more often. Each has 74 putouts in the field, with Gordon throwing in two assists and zero errors to Hunter's zero assists, one error.

Hunter: .280/.331/.465

Gordon: .271/.376/.450

Meanwhile...Prince Fielder might just force his way to the top of the first base discussion. 14 for 22, 5 HR, 2 doubles, 15 RBI in his last five games, batting over .400 with 9 HRs in May.

and hunter has done all of his offensive damage in 5+ fewer games?

i understand your take on Han Ram.. so you really think Cain and Gordon are both deserving of a starting spot over Brantley? and you don't think both Cain and Gordon are VERY close with a handful of other AL outfielders?

you have to at least agree on Vogt over Perez. Even Semien vs Escobar the ONLY glaring difference in Escobars favor is errors.

I listed Cain and Gordon as candidates I would take over Hunter, not as my picks for starter. I would right now have Trout for sure, followed by Reddick, Cain and Brantley. Also, Hunter has 17 MORE at bats than Gordon.

Soler 15th in OF vote without being on the big league squad yet this year. Good work, Cubs fans.

Soler is the starting right fielder, are you thinking of junior Lake?

No, I think it is because I just read about Baez. Clearly I am easily confused by Cubs super prospects.

They have a few that should pan out. Supposedly, their first rounder last year, Kyle schwarber, already has a major league ready bat. I've even heard some say it's just as good as Bryant. I would love to have a catcher with that kind of pop.

As a Tigers fan, I am unable to process more than one prospect on a single team at the same time. I don't think we have had multiple relevant prospects together in 9 years.

Not that anyone else cares (other than me), here are my current choices:

AMERICAN LEAGUE

C: Vogt, S

1B: Fielder, P - tough vs Miggy but hes been on fire lately

2B: Kipnis, J

SS: Semien, M

3B: Donaldson, J

OF: Brantley, M

OF: Jones, A - going to disagree here and go with Reddick. could also make a case for Cespedes who has come on of late. Adam Jones is a fave of mine but his offensive counting stats are underwhelming. 8 doubles, 6 home runs and 3 steals?

OF: Trout, M

DH: Cruz, N

Starter: Hernandez, F

NATIONAL LEAGUE

C: Posey, B

1B: Goldschmidt, P - i'm going A-Gonz here. More doubles, better average, half the strikeouts. HR and RBI and run total is almost identical. Only real edge i see for Goldy is steals.....

2B: Wong, K - Dee Gordon batting .376 with 19 steals. More doubles, less HR's....

SS: Crawford, B - amazing tight race between he and Peralta. I lean Peralta but their stats are so similar offensively and defensively...

3B: Carpenter, M

OF: Harper, B

OF: Holliday, M - Starling Marte has more doubles, home runs, RBI and steals. More strikeouts and less walks though and a much worse average. Their fielding is level..

OF: Upton, J

Starter: Scherzer, M - not as cut and dry as the AL. Wacha is 7-0, Grienke is 5-1 with a better ERA... Scherzer has the big K lead but is just 6-3. Not saying its the wrong choice but i think its a close race. Fan vote probably way in Scherzers favor though.

Wins/losses are one of the most useless stats for pitchers, so lets look at the NL race based on how each of the top 4 starters have put their teams in position to win.

Scherzer:

- 10 starts, 1 start w/fewer than 7 innings (6 IP), 2 starts of 8 IP or better
- 8 starts with 1 ER or fewer, 1 start with 2 ER, 1 start with 5 ER

Greinke:
- 10 starts, 5 starts w/fewer than 7 innings, no starts of 8 IP or better

- 8 starts with 1 ER or fewer, 2 starts with 3 ER

Wacha:

- 9 starts, 5 starts w/fewer than 7 innings, no starts w/over 7 IP

- 6 starts with 1 ER or fewer, 2 starts with 2 ER, 1 start with 4 ER

Miller:

- 10 starts, 5 starts w/fewer than 7 innings, 2 starts with 9 IP

- 6 starts with 1 ER or fewer, 4 starts with 2 ER

Scherzer is more consistent and pitches deeper into game on average, but has the one truly bad start among the group. Miller hasn't pitched deep into games as consistently, but has yet to allow more than 2 ER in a start. Greinke edges out Wacha for number of real strong starts, though neither pitch deeper into games. Based solely on 2015 performance, I would lean Miller -> Scherzer -> Greinke -> Wacha so far.

Can Royals' fans kill fan voting for good? They are sure going to give it a shot!

Sure seems like it

Only a matter of time before Infante overtakes Altuve - prolly by Friday.... As annoying as it is - I'd much rather see this flooded with Royals than Yankees.

The voting is a joke. While KC is good, not a single Royal should be starting. Dumb.

I wasn't saying some don't belong on the team :dunno: I just dont think there is a single all-star starter on that team. Maybe Escobar. Donaldson at 3rd, Vogt should be the catcher. Kipnis should be 2nd. Fielder at 1st. Outfield Trout, Jones and Reddick. Cruz at DH.

AL has about 30% higher vote totals. Lots of vote stuffing for your team and no one else in the AL.
