Sharia Law

Recommended Posts

What are your thoughts on sharia law taking over the United States? Pretty scary, huh?

Worms I don't think anyone here has said it was taking over. My question, if you can read then please go back and read when I asked if anyone else has heard about it or knows anything about it, was about if anyone knew anything about sharia law since I admitted I don't know much. Only what I've heard

No more moronic than multiple other posts from conspiracy nuts, typically conservatives. This doesn't preclude someone being intelligent enough to get through med school, which isn't really that difficult if you are willing to work hard.

Eh I'm kinda over it. But you're right. Even if they ask a legi medical question its not hard for someone to just google their symptoms. But when it's time for a script to get written...Google can't do everything. Although it has been years since I have handwritten a script for meds. It's all done on computer nowadays through a system we use called AHLTA. Makes it harder for people to steal scripts when they can't log on our system without a CAC card

So it's been "years"? You said your 33. That's young for an entrenched doctor. It takes years of school to become a licensed doctor and more years of residency to be anything but a low level scrub student once your in a hospital.

So your Doogie Houser and got your license at 12 or so?

You didn't ask if anyone knew anything about Sharia Law. You asked whether it was taking over the U.S. and if STATES were trying to outlaw it.

I wouldn't worry about it, any more than I would I worry about Sharia law in the US.

If he had no interruptions in his education, he should have completed training at age 31 or 32. But electronic prescribing has been around for over a decade, and he could have written scripts with cosignature since residency.

You mean no interruptions like his much ballyhooed military career?

But ok. Fair enough.

Yes and I graduated college early because I took full semesters worth of classes during the summer. I wanted to get school over with quickly since I knew how much school I had left.

And FYI you can be in the military and go through your residency and fellowship

I'd be damn proud of my medical license and would have no problems flaunting it on here. Especially when every other thread becomes a back and forth about its legitimacy. Id have shut us up long ago if Inhad to listen to this stuff.

You're right I could. However even if I do that there will always be the "who's medical license did you steal" so I see no point in wasting my time trying to prove something to people on an online message board. I thought the picture of me in uniform would be enough but I guess not

How so? When what I read said Seattle was trying to make it where banks are compliant with sharia law offering no interest loans (though I'm sure fees are hidden somewhere) for Muslims and in Irving these Muslims were having private court cases basing them on sharia law. What part am I misinterpreting? Also, enlighten me on this whole sharia thing within politics

Actually, they were checking into ways to push for more have me ownership.

Not forcing any businesses to comply...but even they realize they are missing out and banks wanted to find ways to finance them.

In Texas you had them doing that, not based on legal support and were basically shut down.

So, no governments at all accepting or pushing Sharia...but keep crying...its funny.

Who's crying? I'm just asking for people to shed some light on the sharia issue. It seems to me like you're trying to project the issue onto me but whatever floats your boat sho

Doesn't there have to be an "issue" before we start shedding light on it?

You keep seeing it pop up at whack job web sites. Are these the sites you usually use to "educate" yourself as to what's going on in the country?

For one, who determines they are "whack websites"? You? If so then sorry but your opinion there holds no value. What you think is a "whack website" could be legit for someone else and vice versa. I will say that no I don't frequent these websites. These are what pop up when I google them to read. So I don't know if it's your definition of whack or not.

I dunno, it's not easy to score well on the MCAT. I know being a doctor doesn't mean you're a genius, but I think you'd have to be smart enough not to believe everything you read on crackpot websites

Here's a quick one before I head to bed. I'll look into it more tomorrow but wondered if anyone else knows more about it than I do.

This 'court' doesn't have any legal jurisdiction nor is it recognized by any government authority. As a matter of fact, its being quashed by one.

I remember that time Spanky, Alfalfa and Buckwheat held court. Scared the hell out of me. I was afraid gang law would rule the land.

Do I frequent the sites? No. Do I take what I read from them with a grain of salt? Yes. Do I think they are at least reporting what happened in the situations? Yes. Do I always believe their spin on things? No.

The information is what it is. Hence why I brought the thread up wondering if anyone else has heard of this. If you've got a better site for information on issues like this then please share. Cause I would like a reliable source to read news. I don't like to watch it on tv because it's got tons of crap that they try to spin for ratings

I know it doesn't. The point was they were trying to make it have legality and go by their own rules

Wait. Backup up. I'm trying to determine how this became an "issue" for you. In your last post to me you said that these sites are what came up when you googled something. I am trying to figure out how this became an "issue" for you. Because either you googled the issue and these sites are what came up, or you went to those sites first and this issue came up. So which was it?

I think the participants have to both agree in advance they'd rather a private decision from their own religious leaders rather than a legal authority and are willing to give up their Constitutional rights to do so.

I think family law decisions where a Muslim man can intimidate his pious wife, using her faith against her, to force her to appear before a religious court rather than a government one, considering what I know of Sharia law, is a bad precedent.

Since -say- alcohol is banned in Muslim communities and one pious Muslim (say mom) wants to bust on another for boozing it up, eh, in that case, I don't really give a shiite.

Right. Basically the same thing as arbitration. And no one can force you to go to "arbitration" unless it's in a contract you signed and that's mainly for civil/business cases. You might choose to do so due to your culture/upbringing but in the U.S. you're entitled to to the protections of the U.S. legal system. It's really not rocket science.

Yes however they are wanting their laws to be above US law.
