Here I'll make my reasoning for this post clear right now:

 

Recently I heard some people talking about sharia law and also saw a few things pop up on Facebook. It was late last night whn I was reminded of it. I admit that I did not know much on the issue. Just what I've seen. Therefore, I wanted to know more about it and what others have heard about it. I also wanted to know if there was any legitimacy to it. Some of the links I posted where ones I found when I googled. What I hoped for was people here being able to convey some things they heard as well on the issue or tell me the links weren't very factual. My stance on the issue is neutral cause I don't even know if this is an issue.

 

Now what I got from here shows the character of a lot of you. Would I respond to some peoples threads like this? No. I'm more considerate than that.

Right. Basically the same thing as arbitration. And no one can force you to go to "arbitration" unless it's in a contract you signed and that's mainly for civil/business cases. You might choose to do so due to your culture/upbringing but in the U.S. you're entitled to to the protections of the U.S. legal system. It's really not rocket science.

Well except an arbitration decision is usually recognized by the courts whereas a decision under sharia law never would be

How have I not accepted anything? In this thread I asked MULTIPLE times about the issue and even kept telling people that no one has yet to answer me.

 

You know sho some days you're actually able to hold a decent convo. Other times like today I dunno but you get this bug up your ass where all you do is criticize. Like I said before, and I'm forced to repeat myself AGAIN, I don't have a stance on the issue. I was trying to figure out if this even was an issue. From what I read some places were already trying to block it from becoming an issue. I was, and still am, trying to figure out, if there are actually some issues going on with this sharia law

The thing is with how our country is going I could honestly see some type of shift towards this. It would not surprise me if we did start seeing some type of court case involving sharias law. Which was why I was curious as to see if this actually had any footing anywhere

All the stuff about "punishable by death" would never fly. It is established law that your rights end at the point of my nose, and courts have already held human sacrifice, even voluntary, as not protected.

 

But clauses like "a man may unilaterally divorce his wife?" If evidence were shown that both parties were devout Muslims, I could see a court upholding that. A crazy court, but there are some.
