After the 26 round regular draft is completed, any players left in the Yahoo pool are eligible for the Supplemental Draft. Note to the new players - this includes all players not on your team, regardless of eligibility, so be sure to protect anyone you want with an official draft pick. As with seasons past, this will be a two-round, serpentine draft. Draft order will be based on a draft lottery, with pick 1.01 receiving one ball and pick 1.14 receiving fourteen.

I believe I have the draft settings here, so please confirm (I am a draft lotto virgin). If anyone would like a copy of the draft results by email, please let me know and I will add you to the distribution list. I would like to ensure at least one other Owner receives the results to avoid shenanigans, so will copy cmh if no one else requests a copy.

That said, we have typically run the lottery selection after the draft, or at least very late in the process. Perhaps it's my ADD, but I've always wanted to know early where my spot stands. Perhaps it's to avoid another edjr meltdown, but I hate waiting. I am inclined to process the supplemental lottery selection early, say Monday or Tuesday, unless anyone is adamantly opposed to doing so. Feel free to state your objections or agreement!

im in the camp that feels the supplemental order should be determind further into the draft. Not that we have to wait until the draft is over but at least after round 5/6 are done perhaps. My reason being certain teams that have choices to make during the early rounds can then make those choices more easily if they have an idea where they pick in the supplemental......

I'd like to know as soon as possible. Dont see that it matters a whole lot in determining who we'll draft in the regular draft or not.

I don't deserve a vote - I go with the flow ................... And Hope to secure a #1 pick !

for the record i dont really care when we select the order but traditionally, as mora said, we have waited.

and knowing before you even make your first draft pick certainly does have an impact.

I know I am not playing this year, but I disagree with this... If you know that you have an early supplemental pick and you miss out on a player at a position that isn't exclusive to you, one can just punt that position knowing that you can get that player to cover it... I think that is unfair as you should have to try to fill that position with your regular draft slot or try to make a trade...

I have always thought that waiting until the regular draft was over would be better because of this... Plus, the one year that we didn't wait and decided to do the supplemental early, edjr ended up quitting because he wasn't happy with the outcome... I know that there aren't quitters like that in this group, but that still is a very sour note...

i don't see an edjr situation arising but completely agree with the other point you're making and remember you saying this in previous seasons.

im sure it sounds like im fighting hard to delay the supplemental draft order and all because i've posted a few times but really, in the end it doesn't matter. however, the 2 points i'd make are

1. if the supplemental order would have no impact on the current draft, then why does anyone need to know?

2. to use the Rays as an example. David Price and Jose Bautista were 1/2 on my board by a wide, wide margin. My choice was made for me but if I had to choose, knowing my supplemental draft slot would make things easier as i have already made a list of players that will be available in the supplemental and which ones I like best If I get an early draw.

I'm with WW and posty.

But I'm also a go-with-the-flow type of dude. B)

sounds pretty evenly split, so no need to tip the boat and change things up too much. For those that prefer to wait, how about WWs suggestion that we run the supplemental after Rounds 5/6 are complete?

I'll do that anyway.

Is this serpentine or the same order both rounds?

I'm good with this...was thinking maybe round 7 or 8 though, get through a couple more of the higher round picks first.

Like burt said people punt position anyway. Especially with the extra value well have with 2 less teams this year, I didn't see an issue with knowing the order early. People lower in the supplemental might get more depth from the regular when people punt.

A team may not reach at round 7 for a 35th rated 2b when they think they have a legit chance to get Cano or Dozier because they have one of the first 7 picks. And that's ok to me.

Unless I somehow beat all the odds and get a top 3 pick in the supplemental I should walk away with 2 players on my list I'll be very happy with.
