Trump refuses to release tax returns

Recommended Posts

I think he is delaying just because it gets him free media attention. He is definitely a devotee of the "no such thing as bad publicity" school of thought.

Interesting idea.

The last President who didn't release his tax returns was Bill Clinton.

the tilted fruitcakes are ignoring her continuous non releasing/hiding deleting etc of documents related to her many many criminal sleezeball dealings throughout her life, which I was referring to. All more damming than stupid focking fake outrage tax returns.

Tilt city Batman!

Yes, you taking phurfur's incorrect statement and making it more hacky is definitely tilt city.

Clinton's have been rmff in your head since the early 90s

This is about what other candidates...including Clinton have released and past candidates have done.

Not...let's deflect to other things about Hillary because, once again, you have zero defense for your idiotic support of Donald Trump.

Did others release these?

Last time Ichecked, there are two requirements to becoming the POTUS. They are in that big document. A citizen of the US and an age requirement.

I'm guessing both can be proved with that document we all have. I may be wrong though.

I don't recall tax returns being one of those. Until recently. But who cares. It's a non factor now.

Love the dripping hypocrisy. One politician with savy duplicates his predeccor with the same arrogance and he is now a phirah. The political machine at its finest.

You mean the hypocrisy of your crying for eight years about Obama not releasing this document or that document, and reveling when Trump does the same?

Consistency is not your strong suit.

It actually is. I brought up a fact and you are the one who plays the "Wahhhhh" card. The ship sails in the same direction....till it doesn't?

Funny sh!t.

No hypocrisy. Presidential candidates have typically given up tax returns.

That is the standard.

Trump is refusing.

They also avoid controversy with the little things. Like being a citizen with papers that prove it well before November.

The Hope and Change crowd should appreciate The Donald doing the same....no?

If you didn't have a problem with Obama, you shouldn't have any problem with Trump. Unless you are a dye in the wool with sheeps clothing Hillary supporter.

There is nosifderence. Unless you believe the wolf.

So, your theory is Obama never provided any agency proof of citizenship at all until all the idiotic birther requests?

I didn't have a problem because Obama had proven it and the right didn't like it...they even whined when he did release the long form and called it fake.

It was pure made up bullshiite.

The difference is you have zero evidence against Obama...and we have Trump refusing to do what other candidates have done.

There is zero hypocrisy except to idiots who were going to biotch like you all always do.

Trump isn't other candidates, it's why he is kicking ass.

And why you crybabies are fake outrage full tilt.

The only difference between Trump not releasing his tax returns and Hillary not releasing the transcripts of her speeches to Goldman Sachs is tradition. And if you think about it, what's more important? Hillary is running on Wall Steet oversight and reform. Her speeches to those people are more relevant to what her administration will do than Trumps tax returns are to what his admin will do. Both should release them, but neither have to. They will leave the arguing about it up to us, and it will mean zilch. I doubt you'll see Hillary demanding Trump release them.

If Hillary had given a speech to the NRA I'm sure we would all want to know what she said, seeing as she's supposedly going to do something about gun violence. Meet with bankers and Wall Street??no big deal, it's just our economic system and our retirement money at stake. But Trumps tax returns could show what? He exaggerates his wealth? So do most geeks. Like I said, she won't personally make a big deal about this, because she's hiding plenty herself. She'll just leave it up to the media and her supporters to beat the drum.

But Hillary has promised to release information from Area 51. Great. Let me guess, there's nothing there, or we won't see the good stuff. I'd rather she be up front with us about something important. Everyone's mad at Trump, but she's the real problem.Trump is what he is, she's trying to portray herself as a serious candidate. It's not working. She brought all her baggage, or there wouldnt even be a Trump right now.

Great argument. You've been been very simple in defending them lately. I'd be willing to bet the house that you wouldn't say anything remotely the same directly to me. You talk a big game but are easily one of the biggest poosays on this bored that talks tough. It's that giant melon of yours. Sad to see that all you have in arguments lately are direct insults and little to no substantive arguments that back up facts. Your side in Kunton and Bernie sawk big donkey cacks and you know it. Times are a changing my friend. Mmmmmkay!!!!!!

Trump totally changing his story now. This dude is a sleazeball in case you haven't noticed.

Donald J. Trump said Friday that he doesnt believe voters have a right to see his tax returns, and insisted its none of your business when pressed on what tax rate he himself pays a question that tripped up Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race.

Mr. Trump made the comments in an interview on ABCs Good Morning America, as he continued to try to answer questions about his change in explanations over the last year about why he wont release the taxes.

When the interviewer, George Stephanopoulos asked Mr. Trump directly if he thought voters had a right to see his returns, something that presidential nominees have provided for roughly 40 years, the candidate replied, I dont think they do.

Mr. Trump added: But I do say this, I will really gladly give them not going to learn anything but its under routine audit. When the audit ends Ill present them. That should be before the election. I hope its before the election.

When asked what effective tax rate he pays, Mr. Trump said: Its none of your business. Youll see it when I release, but I fight very hard to pay as little tax as possible.

Mr. Romney, who is also a businessman, delayed releasing many of his returns until September 2012, at which point they showed an effective tax rate that was much lower than most Americans pay. Mr. Trump has said in the last few years that Mr. Romney erred in waiting so long and should have done it sooner.

Also during the interview, Mr. Stephanopoulos pointed out that the Internal Revenue Service has said being audited is not prohibitive in terms of individual choice to make tax returns public, and that President Richard M. Nixon did so when he was being audited.

But he insisted that people will learn nothing.

http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/05/13/donald-trump-on-his-tax-rate-its-none-of-your-business/

So to recap:

- first trump says Romney messed up not releasing his tax returns sooner

- then trump says he'll release his tax returns but not until it's closer to the election

- then trump says he'll release them but not until an audit is concluded

- now trump says he has no obligation to release them at all

The dude is a fraud.

I heard it. He straight up was asked if he supported the GI Bill. He said no then babbled about bringing jobs back.

:dunno:

I'll let you guys try to figure out what he meant. Seems pretty obvious to me. He doesn't support the GI Bill.

Let me guess: he misspoke.

They tend to be those uneducated, authoritarian-leaning voters that Trump just loves

As Mung pointed out, it was an obvious reset point. They are smart enough to realize what Trump meant and didn't fall for this most recent media concoction.

Our resident lefties on the other hand, not so much. In their defense, they are pretty fockin stupid.

Trump does enough stupid sh1t, pretty silly to try to invent a story like this. This is the exact kind of fabricated garbage that pushes more support into his camp. The left may eventually figure this out but, I doubt it.

How is this story "invented" or "fabricated"?

You do realize Trump has thus far refused to release his tax returns, right? After saying earlier that he would? That isn't made up, it's an objective undisputed truth.

And you do realize it has been tradition since the 1950s for presidential candidates to release their returns, right?

And you know that Clinton has released hers, as has Sanders, and probably a host of other candidates who have since dropped out?

Holy hell, talk about "pretty focking stupid" :(

Lefties and the media invented the words coming out of Trump's mouth?

Why don't you just take the next step and say that a question like "Do you support the GI Bill" is a "gotcha" question. You know, like "What kind of magazines do you read" and questions like that.

Amazing how many republican candidates are so unprepared for these difficult inquiries.
