Will Mike Evans live up to a first round pick?

Recommended Posts

In game one, I think the first half starts with a lot of Jackson and Brate with some Humphries sprinkled in. I won't expect much from Evans. I think they're going to take what the defense gives them. My guess is that the Dolphins will double Evans off the line and use safety help to contain Jackson. I think the Bucs go deep a few times to show off their new toy in Jackson and throw to Brate a lot and Humphries getting some action too. With the run game, I think it'll be no different regardless of what back is there... be it Rodgers, Sims, or McNichols. I expect an offense that favors the pass but doesn't ignore the run. Probably a 55/45 split with a high end of 60/40. In the second half I think you'll see more of Evans than in the first... but I expect the Bucs to be winning too, so probably not as much as you'd want.

I'd say for week 1, Evans gets 7 to 10 targets... I'll say 5 receptions for 70 yards, with the small possibility of a TD. After that, I think you'll see more 10-15 target games.

Agree with the above post.

Teams will key Evans and the use of the other targets will be important for the teams success.

It will hurg those who draft him in ff, but he will rebound as the season goes on.

He has that jerk Winston throwing to him but since Evans is getting mucho targets I really like him to have a monster season.

The sky is the limit for his TB offense this season. Deadean Jackson adds yet another dimension with all the young studs. Winston has gone back to back seasons 4K passing btw.

My only real criticism on Winston, and he really needs to fix this, is the turnovers. If he can do that, he has a legit shot of being an elite QB in this league. If he doesn't, he might be the next Jay Cutler.

How's his accuracy?

Improving, so I'm ok with it. He increased his completion pct by 2.5% so it's on the way up. Considering his weapons were better from rookie season to sophomore, and improving again, he's showing signs that he can utilize them. Of course, if he takes a step back, then it will have to be looked at again, but as of right now, he's improving so I'm fine with it.

Took him 3rd overall in my dynasty startup. I'm looking at him at the end of the 1st in my shallow modified keeper league. I'm a fan.

Got offered Evans for Hunt and Jimmy Graham. PPR for RB only, and I have Ajayi and Murray. Would anyone make that trade?

who would be your starting TE in this case?

Primed for a big season

.

1,500 yards and 18 TD.

He's 2nd on my list behind Brown.

Wow. Those are big numbers for sure. Are you a Tampa guy? I'm big on this guy as well, but 18 TDs is huge.

To me it's an even trade. If you like what you got that's awesome. I'm more an RB guy, and I love Hunt honestly, but this year I have both Evans and Hunt, so I am happy with both. Its an even trade in my world as Hunt hasn't done it before but looks good and is primed.

Not outlandish at all.

He's increased his yardage by 150 each of the past 2 seasons.

1,051

1,206

1,321

At this rate and Winston's continue improvement, 1470-1500 makes sens.

He's scored 12 TD last season and 12 TD in 2015. 18 might sound high, but this offense is prime for a big jump.

I feel like people just somehow forget how good Evans was last year and that he was the top wr in standard scoring. Putting Julio ahead of him is kind of silly.

He did p!ss me off a bit last year in the playoffs.

Wk Rec YD TD

14 4 42 0

15 4 59 0

Julio was out both of those games as well, so I needed Evans bad.

As long as Evans' targets don't fall off, he'll have another monster year.

I didn't forget. I had him last year and have him as a keeper this year with Michael Thomas. They are my 1 and 2. It's nice to hear all the trust in this guy. He is a monster.
