Its difficult to debate politics rationally when each side cant even start from an agreed on set of at least some common facts. Historically we would be presented with facts and we would then debate if what happened was right or wrong and what should happen as a result. The current issue is any facts one side doesnt like are labeled fake news, and people have determined that the real facts are whatever hearsay they take in from novelty niche websites or personalities that the rest of us have never heard of.

 

There is no starting point for debate anymore. It would be like two boxers standing in different rings, each arguing that theirs is the ring the fight is actually in.

In this current climate, we've decided that any fact that doesn't suit our purpose is suspicious or fake news. So we search out unverified sources that support our conspiracy theories and we just label said viewpoint as the real facts that we must start a debate from. It's the fall of rational thought.

 

The point being.....you say we can't agree that if you have a c*ck you are a boy. But I'm saying that even with photographic proof and a statement from his doctor, we can't even agree that the person has a c*ck.
