A phenomenal artist who needs to be in this draft. I was between this and a few songs from a band already represented, I figured I'd add somebody new. As in the past she maybe has a more popular song, but this is my favorite song of hers. Lots of artists write songs about breakups; these lyrics are amazing.

But, I do think these drafts are best kept to regular posters. I believe shotsup set that ground rule up front in the 80s draft.

12 is a really excellent country song I like a lot. I tipped off the artist earlier.

 

13 will be a black artist. I haven't taken a black artist through three drafts because they don't make songs in the genre I like but this song I have in store is really good. No doubt people will like it better than most of the rest of the stuff I drafted.

 

14/15 I may double up on Queensryche or maybe not. I have a couple of ideas.

 

16 is a song by an artist from a band I like that had put out a solo album. I didn't even know the album existed. I'd never before or after heard it on played the radio. It was poorly promoted. What happened was that I was going through the discount music bin and I found something that piqued my interest and I said "Hey, isn't this that guy from blahblahblah?" I dunno. Maybe. I didn't recognize any of the songs listed either. Is it really him? Ah, what the hell? I figured if it's the guy I think it is, it was worth the buck or two they were asking to give it a listen.

 

Well, it was that guy. And wouldn't you know, he'd put out what I thought was a kickass album even though it flopped commercially and had no video support. My favorite song only got as high as 84 on the British charts, and didn't chart at all in the US. No matter. I wore the cassette out. It's here in China with me. I think the song's got a powerful message that's resonates even more pertinent in 2018 than when it was released.

Sorry you think I'm a d1ck, I think I made my point in my previous post which you completely ignored. If you'd like me to clarify something let me know. Or perhaps I'll have my wife, two daughters, and son get a team in the 60s draft, because I'm confident you care about their taste in music.

Reading back on this you are correct. I didn't address this. Bunny was sitting next to me at home as I prepared my list for both drafts. She followed them both and commented on the picks. She assisted me in preparing for the 90s and was very into it, so I decided to let her make the picks instead of me. That was she could have the joy that I got from the 70s draft and you guys would have someone that grew up with that music instead of another old fart that hasn't known half of the songs picked. From the comments that have been made, she hasn't done too badly. How involved was your wife and daughters in the last 2 drafts? I'm a dooshe, but I try to put some humor in it. You are just a dooshe. I hope that clarifies things for you.

How is your trip going?

We were supposed to be picked up at 5:30 am to go to the boat down the river.

 

Night before, I copied a bunch of sh!t to my laptop to watch. Only to discover that I have apparently left my laptop charger somewhere along the way. So there goes that idea.

 

Guy ends up being an hour late. Border shakedown ($40 US for a visa on arrival to this hole) took a couple hours. We ended up leaving shore at 11:30. Boat is 2/3 tourists, 1/3 local monkey people barbarians. Guess who my neighbors are? One lady is about to go swimming if she shoves me one more fotcking time.

 

So 7 hour cruise today. We stay tonight in some bumfock village whose only purpose is to serve as a stop for the boats. So the accommodation vendors know they have you by the shorthairs, and charge accordingly.

 

So far, not digging Laos. The scenery along the river is gorgeous. Other than that, we will see when I get where were going. Thankfully my SIM card I bought in Bangkok is still working. Im sure it will die any time though.
