WTH is going on with Kurt Busch? He didn't hit the wall that hard. Is it prior brain trauma that's exacerbating the issue or is there something else at play here? He's out for the remainder of the regular season. Are they paving the way for Gibbs to get a ride next year?

Seems long to me too.  My worse concussion, symptoms lasted 3 weeks and my smashed skull wasn't wearing a helmet when it happened.

Yeah, he can't still be in protocol. There has to be something else going on.

That was a fun first stage, so cool when you have to add rain/slicks strategy into the mix.

Yep.  Kinda similar to yours...hmm

Also, I'm done with Larson and Elliot for next week.
I'm guessing team Toyota and Track House for Daytona

Kurt Busch withdraws from playoffs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Kurt Busch will miss the start of NASCAR's playoffs with concussion-like symptoms that have sidelined him for six weeks, meaning two spots in the 16-driver field will be open Saturday night in the regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway.

23XI Racing on Thursday withdrew the medical waiver that was holding Busch's spot in the playoffs.

"As much as I wanted and hoped to be able to get back in the No. 45 car to make a playoff run with our team, it's still not the right time for me," Busch said on social media. "In addition to not being cleared to return to racing, I know that I am not ready to be back in the car."

Busch has been out since he crashed in qualifying July 23 at Pocono. Ty Gibbs, the 19-year-old grandson of Joe Gibbs, has replaced Busch since he was injured.

Busch earned his spot in the playoffs with a win at Kansas Speedway in May. Had he not been injured, NASCAR's 2004 champion would have participated in the playoffs for a 10th consecutive season. By pulling its medical waiver, 23XI gave some breathing room to fellow Toyota driver Martin Truex Jr., who was battling Ryan Blaney for the final spot in the field.

Smells like retirement.

Reddick to 23XI one year early.

KB goes to RCR bringing them back into championship contention. Intimidator part 2. If he does, they should get Dillons bum a$$ out of the 3 and put KB in it.

Yep. I think that's pretty much guaranteed at this point.

Yeah, it's his Grandson, but I can't believe Gibbs is going to let the most winning active drive and two time champ get away.  Might be the most insane contract situation I've ever seen play out in Nascar.

Well if he does let KB go, we know why.

Also, Saturday night race at Daytoner! Get your lineups in.

Almirola confirmed for next year.

KBs only options are RCR, Kaulig and possibly SHR starts a 4th team if they can secure sponsorship. Something about him going to RCR just feels right.

As long as Chase Elliot spins Larson out and Denny spins out Chastain I'll be happy.
