Chris sale had tommy John surgery..yesterday.

Recommended Posts

Los Angeles County (where Sale had his surgery) recently issued a memo recommending all elective surgeries be "limited" until further notice. But the memo didn't explicitly ban such operations, and ElAttrache is of the belief that they're borderline essential for top pitchers like Sale.

Hubris.

Good that the guy gave him the surgery...  It is his lively hood (though he has made millions of dollars)...  If he had to delay to get the surgery because of COVID-19, he could be out two years instead on one...  But some Sox fan might like that...

Yep.  Miguel Cabrera might be at the top.

I heard all the health care professionals in the country were bogged down by the virus patients. Patients are spilling into the streets out of the hospital doors. Over-burdened to the max. How ever did he get the approval for non life threatening surgery? How will this country ever be socialist if this is allowed? Let's go ask Canada how they handle things like this. As well as anyone who needs a procedure in regular times having to wait months for attention. :o

There's a guy on our baseball board who's an orthopedic surgeon.  He mentioned yesterday that he still has not been given a date for when he can perform surgeries.  Of course, he doesn't work on pro athletes.

It's all good, the doctor performed the surgery using two of these in order not to violate the social distancing protocol.

In December, "Sale received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his left elbow back in August. He was cleared to begin throwing just before Thanksgiving by Dr. James Andrews"...  He didn't need surgery at the time...

He re-aggravated it near the beginning of March...

No matter when he had the surgery, the 2020 and some of the 2021 season was already done, why not "try" to get something out of him?  That is how teams think.

If you ask me, he should have had it mid season last year, he was a shell of himself anyway. he had elbow problems all year and sucked.
