That’s a bummer. Are there other fields you could explore? Or perhaps a geographical change?

I am tied to where I live by my 6 year old son.  I am open to other jobs and have been looking. Hell I have sent off over 1k resumes. I have had a lot of interviews. They just go nowhere.

Dang man, I feel for you. I’m also tied down by custody arrangements so I know how restrictive that can be. Keep at it, I’m sure you’ll find something

I've taken several large dumps that I'm kinda proud of:dunno:

Pics or they didn't happen.  🤨

For the past few years I have been consulting for food service organizations (restaurants, hotels, movie theaters, schools, etc).

Pre-covid: i was doing more menu analysis, p&l, marketing, operational efficiencies, etc

Covid: much less focus on food this year... managing staffing, sanitation/hygiene, alternative revenue sources, provide other functional resources (qr menus, to go/curbside tools, online ordering pos, etc)

My cousin is a restaurant consultant in San Jose. Haven't talked to him but I know it's not a good time.

I was laid off in May and have not been able to pick up a job in my field since.

Sorry to hear that.  Hope things pick up soon.  That does suck.

Covid finally convinced my wife to abandon a dream of retiring off Savanah (sorry Bill). And we bought a second home closer to home, which really makes 1 million times more sense and she's happy.  That's her event which is big for me also.

My event is the same as last year's.  Getting closer to where I want to be spiritually.

Damn that sucks for me.  Would have loved to have another Geek in Savannah.  Years ago Dolfan lived here and we met for lunch a few times.  Then he became a bigshot Lawyer in Atlanta and abandoned us for the Sanctuary.  Anyone know if he is still there?

Returning to the Geek Club's open arms.

Nope, hasn’t been there for years.

Thanks! I'll try harderer to be nice.

😀

Changing that hideous profile picture would go a long way.  But probably it is more accurate that I am a sorerer loser and hate to see the winners gloat.
