Ben Shapiro

Recommended Posts

Listen to him and Bill Maher talking about Ukraine a little bit ago. Was solid conversation.

I mean, yeah, it wasn't you guys calling each other vomit face for 500 posts in a row, but it was interesting and informative.

I don't know about the little beanie. Maybe he's got a bald spot or something.

And it sure would be nice if somebody ask him about Israel giving carte blanche access to their country for all these Russian oligarchs.

But all in all, he seems like a reasonable  well-informed guy. Which puts him ahead of most podcasters and whatnot.

This is the most annoying, repetitive thing about this board. I can't believe these guys spend hours here every day to just repeat the same insults they have been repeating for years.

As far as Maher and Shapiro, I will definitely listen. I enjoy both, even if I don't agree with either on everything. Thanks for the recommendation.

I listened to it as well, good stuff.  Shapiro is probably the podcast I listen to the most; it gives me the conservative topics du jour without being over the top.  I figure most lefties who complain about him have never actually listened to him.

I liked when he said to Maher "wait, you actually take everything Trump says seriously?"  And Maher did.

That's the goal of rusty and sean mooney.  They want to destroy this board by ruining the discourse and personally attacking everyone nonstop.

On the topic at hand- Shapiro is someone who I think is playing the part more often than not. He isn't dumb and he does do some research even if I don't agree with the end result he comes to.

This is a pretty dumb defense. Most of Trump’s supporters take him very seriously. And when he was president/running for president, he was supposed to be taken seriously. I mean is it the best defense that the guy’s a focking 🤡 and everyone should know that??

It's the same defense that Rudy and Susan Powell have introduced in court.

It is a dumb defense. He is the President. We should be able to take him seriously. He never understood that.

Of course you don't agree with smart people who do their research. We already know that.

I’ve seen a couple episodes of his Snapchat series. At least I think it’s Snapchat unless it’s from another platform just showing on Snapchat.

he has an extremely punchable face.

and yes I have Snapchat. No idea why. I had downloaded it a while ago when it was still based on sending messages that “disappeared” but now I enjoy some of the channels on there.

You guys are kinda proving my point.  In 2016 the people decided (well, the electoral college decided) that they had had enough of silver-tongued lying career politicians and elected a guy who was rough around the edges (to put it kindly) but resonated with them.  With that comes... some rough edges.  For instance, when he says something about Mexicans being criminals, he doesn't mean all Mexicans, he's talking about the criminal Mexicans, but it doesn't always come out right.

We had a similar discussion here when he was riffing about potential solutions to Covid (sunlight, bleach).  It was like talking to the Spinal Tap guy with the amp that goes to 11.

But hey, you guys did your job and got "anyone but Trump" elected.  Sure, the guy doesn't have two brain cells to rub together, and anyone who didn't see that before the election has the same malady.  But hey, he isn't Trump, so you get smooth meaningless words in between Biden's incoherent mumbling, so you've got that going for you.

I would imagine someone who was a Democrat wanting to defend Biden would say the same thing applies to when Biden stumbles through his phrasing at times. Those are rough edges.

And Trump was always a liar- he just wasn't a politician liar.

All those "lies" you liberal wimps kept pointing out are all becoming true.

Another swing and miss by you.

Funny how countries start attacking each other and/or have become very threatening now that creepy joe the pvssy is in office. As well as how this country is falling apart now that creepy joe and kameltoe are in office. Gee, coincidence? Nope.

To your first point, I would argue that the difference is that Trump hasn't developed the "political filter" to translate between thoughts and speech.  Biden on the other hand has very little going on on the "thought" side.

To your second point, I conditionally agree.  The people who think he became POTUS to make himself and his friends richer IMO aren't thinking very well.  He had plenty of money without going through the PITA that is day to day life as POTUS.  Power, adoration?  Sure, he is egomaniacal and loved that stuff.

Trump is a New Joysey construction guy who is used to calling up the union bosses to grease the skids.  That doesn't mean we should just excuse all of his behavior.  That call after the election to the Georgia SOS asking him to find votes... no bueno, that's the one impeachable thing he did.  But the Dems shot their TDS wad on criminally bogus pee tapes.

Anyway, sorry for sidetracking this thread, let's get back to Shapiro being the best political podcaster in the US.

I'm fine with some of that. I still would say I think Biden is probably sharper than he appears but he- much like any 80 year old- might not always be "on." TBF- I don't think Trump was always "on" either and it led to some of his sillier comments. And also to be fair- I think both of them suffer in following Obama who for all his faults- was an excellent public speaker.

Truthfully though- I'm not a Trump fan, I'm not a Biden fan....I want both parties to find someone younger who can be a little more dynamic and lead logically.
