Barkley vs fournette vs Jones in full ppr

Recommended Posts

These are the guys I believe I’ll be looking at in rd two pick 18 overall 10 man ppr non keeper with one rb mandatory spot and 5 flex spots of rb/wr/te.  I’m kinda leaning barkley with the most upside, Lenny as the safe pick and Jones whom I initially loved but the lasted news from gb makes me shaky as how much they love dilllon. If I go barkley I’m def aiming for Dillon and will prob reach later in the draft. If I go Jones then I’m looking at hammering wr in the following rds and looking at guys like hunt, Stevenson, edmunds etc later to fill out the depth. How would u have em ranked.

you are on the right track.

Barkley does have the most upside.

Fournette is likely the safer pick.

I prefer Barkley but I can see why some like Fournette.

I agree with this.   if you believe the coachspeak both backs will get more work than typical committee backs due to a lack of WR depth but they both top out at RB2.   not nearly the upside of Fournette or Barkley

it is worth noting, that if either Jones or Dillon should happen to get hurt, the other provides full RB1 potential.   otherwise we are looking at two low to mid range RB2's on the same roster.

I think Barkley has the most upside but also the most risk.

Fournette, kind of the same, but a little less upside, less risk.

Jones is the probably the safest, but the least exciting.

You might be able to come up with more, but I think owning both isn’t a handicap, and the same for Williams/Gordon.

Saquon Barkley is putting everyone on notice as he prepares for his second season removed from a torn ACL.’ I never had a season where I didn’t go and play football,” “Now, it’s a kill mindset. Now it’s like, you know what? F—k everybody. I’m ready to go crazy.”

I think Jones is going to be split out and catching a lot of balls this year.  Thr bug question there is how thr TDs fall betwren Dillon and Jones.

But yeah, the other 2 backs have more upside based on not sharing as much work.

I still think Saquon has a monster season ahead and wouldn’t be surprised if this was it.

I agree about Mr Jones, he’s going to slot out a lot this season, so in half or full ppr both could be starters on the same ff team.

certainly possible.  but his ADP is pretty good for a guy who is a couple years away from his last 1000 yard season.  I suspect a lot of people agree with you on that.

Ceiling?

  1. Barkley
  2. Jones
  3. Fournette

Safe?

  1. Fournette
  2. Jones
  3. Barkley

Ceiling?  Barkley is by far the most talented.  If we're talking round 2 and I got a stud RB1?  I'm definitely taking Barkley if all 3 of these guys are there.  Jones has a shot at a ton of touches and TD's because I don't think Green Bay receivers are all that impressive.  I think a higher target share goes to the backfield in GB.  Tampa isn't going to run the ball a lot.  Fournette will get the bell cow duties, but on a team that's going to run the ball 20 (to RB's), times a game, that's only 14 to 16 carries.  He'll certainly get touches in the passing game, but they'll be about on par with Barkley and Jones.

Safe?  Definitely Fournette.  He has been more healthy than Barkley and on par with Jones, but has no where near the competition for playing time that Jones does with Dillon there.  Even aside from injury, Barkley only had the 1 great year, his rookie year.  In year 2, he had 1400 total yards and 8 TD's (52 receptions), from a fantasy perspective, he had 244 points.  Nothing wrong with that... you know how many Fournette had last year?  255.  Why take the chance with Barkley?  Aaron Jones is rather safe, his numbers are fairly similar to what Fournette did last year, just a little less.  The thing is, with Dillon there, I think Jones' ceiling is what he did last year.  I'd rather take him over Barkley if I'm looking safe, but I'm taking Fournette otherwise.  Fournette is THE GUY in Tampa.  I'll take him.  He has a great shot at 300+ touches.  I don't think the other two sniff within 50 of that.

I'm not concerned.  They'll be fine.
