Caddyshack SUPER BOWL commercial

The ad starts with Serena Williams, wearing a purple and plaid golfing set, walking to the hole ready to show off her drive.

The commercial then takes a chaotic turn and features several other celebrity and professional athlete appearances including former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, soccer player Alex Morgan and boxer Canelo Alvarez.

As well as, Golfer Rickie Fowler, Jimmy Butler of the NBA’s Miami Heat, Nneka Ogumike of the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, and finally Academy Award nominated actor Michael O’Keefe.

The ad features various uses of Michelob ULTRA throughout and ends with Serena Williams just getting her last putt in and getting the ball successfully into the hole thanks to a large flock of birds taking off and shaking the ground.

Similar to how Caddyshack ends, except in the movie it’s a large explosive that ends the game and gets the ball successfully into the hole.

So no Rodney? He was the whole movie. Fail.

Well, in fairness, he did pass away, so it's not like they had a choice.  Same with the John Travolta commercial.

Ted Knight has been dead for a long time and they managed to fill his role.

Was that a grown up (older) Danny Noonan telling Sebrina to be the ball.

Didn't see the commercial.  Who played Lacy Underalls nipples?

I'm pretty sure Alex Morgan was playing her.  Looked like a similar shirt.

She did the "$1,000 says you slice", that was Rodney's character...

She said his line but it looked obvious to me she was the Lacy Underalls character.  I'm pretty sure she's wearing the same shirt.

I agree they were going for that basic shirt with Alex Morgan.  I Like Alex but something was missing from the portrayal.

Whereby I do agree there should have been a Rodney bit, more than the beer golf bag and funny horn sound.  Maybe a 'did somebody sit on a duck'.  Maybe something to do with a legal hassle or something.  I do disagree that he was the whole movie.  He was great, though.

It started out being about young Caddys .. and when that didn't carry it, stars were added.  Very surprised Bill Murray allowed Romo to do his bits because he is so hard to work with in his old years.  There was no Chevy either.  I guess Lindsey was happy to have his music involved.

In the end, it was the Gofer who was THE star.

She doesn't really have a ton of parts in the movie.  Maybe they should've had her go off the high dive.  I prefer to see her go down the slide into the pool.

I think to capture the essence of her performance they could have done so with a bit thinner material and an ice cube or two.

I would have agreed to be her personal assistant during the project, and at quite a reasonable wage, meaning paid by me to her, not the other way around.

Bill Murray made me laugh the most.  He had the best lines.  'I don't think the hard stuff is coming down for a while'.

Oh Mrs Crane, you're a little monkeywoman.  You're lean and you're mean and you're not too far between.

So I've got that going for me, which is nice!

Trying to  remember if any of the ads really struck me.

Didn't see Ben Affleck at the donut shop

Steve Martin was good but brief in his Pepsi spot.

Gronk missed the kick although it looked like it squeezed in.

It's not even funny or entertaining anymore.  It really isn't.  Know what would have made it funny?  If Peter Dinklage played the part Serena did. Now THAT would have been funny.

But that aint woke soooo

Not to mention..Rodney Dangerfield SUCKED at golf..He didn't outdrive anyone  "OW..MY ARM, ITS BROKEN!!!" and he ended up dropping out so Danny Noonan could play.

But MY GOD don't show Serena sucking at golf to stay true to the story. Nooooo...can't do that.

Both love golf, both probably have a strong relationship with Jim Nantz. I’d bet they are pals

Yes, it was .. unless you're a couple of tight ass, racist (yes racist) mofos who don't understand humor and think Whitey HAS to win everything !

I mean, I am one who thinks a lot of society has gone woke to the extreme or just for the sake of…. but generally I can just enjoy something if it’s good.
