Woman shoved into train, man slashed during violent weekend on NYC subways

...Two suspects are on the loose after separate New York City subway attacks, with one man slashed in the face with a sharp object and a woman shoved into the side of a subway car. Police say a 33-year-old victim reported that he was riding the southbound D train in Manhattan Friday when he noticed another individual aboard the train acting erratically, according to a report from WABC...The victim said the erratic individual then approached him unprovoked and "slashed" him on the chin with an unknown sharp object...

....In another incident Sunday, a 42-year-old woman was transported to Cornell Hospital after she was shoved into the side of a standing subway car in Manhattan, according to a report from the New York Post....The incidents come as crime on city subways has gained renewed attention amid the controversial death of Jordan Neely, who was acting erratically and threatening passengers on a train earlier this month before he was confronted and placed in a chokehold by Marine veteran Daniel Penny....In his first public comments since the incident, Penny said he was "deeply saddened" by Neely's death but blamed "the system" for failing New Yorkers...."It’s tragic what happened to him," Penny said. "Hopefully, we can change the system that’s so desperately failed us."

New York senior citizen charged in mugger's shooting death had warned local newspaper of rising crime

... A New York man, who is now facing weapons charges after allegedly gunning down a man who tried to rob him, had previously warned a city newspaper that rising crime was destroying his neighborhood. Charles Foehner, 65, was arrested Thursday after police searched his Kew Gardens home and found dozens of weapons, but he has not been charged with murder or manslaughter, court records show....

....Foehner was walking on 82nd Avenue in Queens early Wednesday when a 32-year-old repeat offender, Cody Gonzalez, approached him with an object in his hand and demanded cash and cigarettes, according to police.... he allegedly shot the would-be mugger in an exchange partially captured on surveillance video, which shows the older man backing away....Off-camera, Foehner allegedly shot and killed Gonzalez. However, police told Fox News Digital that Foehner faces 26 counts of criminal possession of a weapon....

...Additionally, he was worried about more than just his own neighborhood, according to the paper – allegedly telling detectives Thursday that he was carrying a handgun due to citywide struggles with violent crime...."Last night I was carrying a firearm because of the way that the city has been in the last three years," he said, according to the Post. "I read the crime stats and I see so much crime."

The enduring lesson for many will be to shoot criminals who try to hurt them or rob them or attack them, then just don't call the police at all.

If you are in a Blue Stronghold like NY, it's obvious someone like Alvin Bragg will throw the entire book at you because it fulfills a specific political narrative.

I am glad this idiot is at least honest.   Most Democrats implement a clearly racist agenda, but lie about what they are doing.  But until we hold government officials personally accountable for flagarent violations of Constitution rights, this kind of crap will continue.

I really don't see how people fail to see these types of clearly racist policies are pushing us towards 1930's Nazism.   You can't demean one race of people and use the law to maliciously attack them.  That is against the basis principles we were founded on and shows our government has gone completely rogue.

It's a great question you are asking jon

Mark Penn was a former strategist for the DNC. Hillary Clinton personally fired him in 2015 from her campaign. He pointed out that Team Blue and Clinton needed to consider working class voters, and how many felt disenfranchised and ignored, and if the Party didn't shift some of it's strategy and policy, they would lose those voters. He was told to shove off because he kept pushing what was called - "right wing talking points". But Penn was right.

Something else Penn discussed is that the majority of staffers in professional politics are young, white, liberal and college educated. And since they are so numerous, they are the ones driving policy, however they aren't representative of all of America.

In effect, someone like AOC and Cori Bush can spout off about these kind of woke agendas because they don't live in the kind of neighborhoods that will be impacted the most from it. Nancy Pelosi lives in a posh "elite" neighborhood with private security and actual government security (paid for with our tax dollars)  It's easy for her to spit on the working class because she's not clipping coupons and cleaning her own toilet.

The best answer is the establishment Democrats don't really care or won't, until it's their neighborhoods burning. It's their cars being smashed open. It's their friends, coworkers and relatives being accosted, robbed and beaten. Big Tech didn't push back against crime in SF until one of their own, a tech executive, was killed.

When Gavin Newsom locked down all public schools during the pandemic, his own children went to an "elite" private school that had an exemption for "in-house" learning and education. It had a very low teacher to student ratio and it had it's own private armed security, not including the security deployed by the state ( our tax dollars again) to protect them. Newsom doesn't clean his own toilets. He doesn't cook his own food. He doesn't have to fight traffic to get his kids to daycare that most working class people can barely afford. It's easy for him to say "It's not a big deal" because it's not a big deal to him.

If change is going to happen, the liberal "elite" in professional politics will need to see EXACTLY what the every day working class has to suffer through. It was the same thing with MADD and drunk driving. Policy makers didn't care until it was THEIR OWN CHILDREN being the ones being crushed and mangled to death on the road.

House Democrat Pramila Jayapal doesn't talk about "Defund The Police" and "Bail Reform" anymore in Seattle. And she used to be one of it's biggest proponents. A mentally ill guy stalked her house for months and months, until he was arrested near her house with a handgun. He kept getting no bailed and released to do it again and again. Since she's Asian and the DNC shows so much racism or indifference to racism against Asians, this didn't generate the headlines and outrage as if she was black or LGBT instead. It wasn't until her life and her families lives were on the line that her woke BS had to take a back seat to functional reality.

They don't care because it's not their children dying. Which is why what Greg Abbott in Texas is doing is so effective. He's busing the "problems" into Blue strongholds but also in wealthy liberal areas. When a MS13 cartel career criminal shows up and murders and rapes the child of one of the "elite", then they'll care. They'll care then that some psychopath crossed the border unchecked and unvetted and unvaccinated.

It's only a matter of time before some Team Blue high profile "brand name" politician has their own families suffer these kind of tragedies. Then they'll give a damn. But not before then.

Would I compare the current radical left to "Nazis"? I'm not sure I'd go that far quite yet. The Nazis did evil things but they were at least logistically competent. They were effective and methodical about being evil. It doesn't excuse their acts, but it highlights that even evil agendas need a plan and strategy that works for them. Team Blue is run by incompetents. What might save all of us from the radical left is they are often too clearly incompetent to be truly nefarious. Yes, many of them are that dumb. I have no quarrel with traditional liberals, but many of the radical left are unhinged and are clearly imbeciles.

Bragg detective Jeremy Rosenberg involved in Trump case suspended for Michael Cohen ties: officials

....A supervising detective involved in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s Donald Trump prosecution has been suspended for his contact with the former president’s ex-lawyer and bitter adversary Michael Cohen, law enforcement sources told The Post.  Jeremy Rosenberg, who investigates financial crimes for Bragg, had his gun removed recently for his interactions with Cohen, the sources claimed.  “The office is conducting a review of an investigator’s compliance with internal office protocols,” a Bragg spokeswoman said...

Defense lawyer and former Manhattan prosecutor Mark Bederow said.... the defense probably would want to know what led to the review....“...certainly from a defense standpoint they would want to know what’s the nature of their relationship,” Bederow said. “What did they talk about and did this detective investigator have anything that fits the form of a disclosure to the defense.”

Top DHS official warns of 'absolute threat' to public safety, economy from organized retail crime

...The surveillance video, from earlier this year, is startling: Four masked men march in a line through a Home Depot store in New York -- two of them looking like menacing bodyguards -- while the two others confidently push carts stacked with almost a hundred boxes of high-value items that they take but never pay for. When the same crew, allegedly doing the same thing, was approached by a security officer at another Home Depot store nearby, one of the men threatened the guard. "I'll knock you out. This isn't worth dying for," he said, according to prosecutors...

....As Home Depot executives describe it, that New York-area crew is part of a growing threat to Americans across the country: so-called organized retail crime, where groups of criminals steal prized items to sell online or elsewhere. While this kind of theft has been around for years, retailers say it's reached unprecedented levels, sparking deadly violence at some stores. And federal authorities now warn it's become an "absolute threat" to public safety and public health, declaring that violent gangs, dangerous international crime syndicates, and even groups with suspected ties to terrorism are increasingly dabbling in organized retail crime across the United States...

...They target stores big and small, and they take whatever they know they can sell -- from power tools and spools of wire worth $3,000, to designer clothes and even medical supplies, officials told ABC News. "They do a lot of research about what is profitable," Aguilar said. "They have shopping lists."...A Homeland Security Investigations report issued last year said estimates regarding organized retail crime found "the average American family will pay more than $500 annually in additional costs due to the impact."

...At the stores themselves, according to authorities and retailers, thieves are often armed with guns, knives, bear spray, or even tools taken from store shelves...."We're starting to see a lot more violent acts taking place," said David Johnston of the National Retail Federation. "It greatly impacts the retailer's ability to keep their environment safe."...And late last year, 82-year-old Gary Rasor, a retiree working at The Home Depot in Hillsborough, North Carolina, died after being shoved to the ground by an alleged thief, who was then arrested on a murder charge...

Cold-hearted teens steal 8-year-old NYC boy’s lemonade stand earnings

....A pair of “shady” teenagers sank to a new low when they looted an 8-year-old Upper West Side boy’s sidewalk lemonade stand, police said. The cowardly crooks....to snatch his money jar — containing as much as $150, his mom said — and made off on two scooters, according to police and a local report.

“I feel disappointed in humanity,” the young entrepreneur told the ilovetheupperwestside blog. “I didn’t realize that someone would want to rob an 8-year-old.”

Police said the heartless theft took place around 3:20 p.m. on Columbus Avenue near West 70th Street when the two teens pulled up...The teens are still on the loose, cops said....The youngster, who goes by the “professional” name “Julian Business Man” and favors bowties and neckties when on the job, has been bootstrapping since he was 4 — from folding boxes at a local bakery to mopping classroom floors to helping out at a neighborhood fruit stand.

“But I will keep doing what I’m doing because I love being a businessman and I love dogs,” he added. “And 30% of my profits go to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.”

https://nypost.com/2023/06/08/cold-hearted-teens-steal-8-year-old-nyc-boys-lemon-stand-earnings/

Who knew that running a lemonade stand as a child could be so dangerous?

Alvin Bragg shows his racism very clearly. He talks about "equity" but most of his policy decisions, not surprisingly, only help blacks in New York. Doesn't matter what they actually do or who they harm, just as long as they are black.

He clearly doesn't care about Asian Americans in New York unless it would cost him and the DNC votes. Or gets bad media. Even when it gets him bad media, often he'll still lick the boots of his overlord George Soros. Taking money from a white billionaire with Scrooge McDuck level money to help spit on working class minorities in his district. That sure sounds like "equity" to me.

Looks like Eric Adams made the same mistake Jenny Dirtcan did in Seattle. They both scoured the ranks to find a black female to appoint to lead the police department because she checked the right diversity boxes. Then, a few months later, pressure her into resigning because they accidentally found a real cop committed to her officers and to fighting crime.

As for Adams himself, while he really was less awful than most candidates in that mayor's race, there were AOC-types available after all, he is still pretty bad.

NY lawmakers pass controversial bill to seal most criminal records

....The long-debated controversial Clean Slate Act — which will automatically seal most criminal records — has passed both houses of the state Legislature. During a marathon session late Friday night, lawmakers voted to adopt the bill as they push through the weekend to wrap up their business for the year. The legislation, which still must be signed into law by Gov. Kathy Hochul, wipes a New Yorker’s conviction record clean three years after sentencing for misdemeanors, and eight years for felonies....Drug-related felonies will be wiped clean.....“This bill enhances justice, which is the true source of public safety in our state,” said state Sen. Zellnor Myrie (D-Brooklyn), who sponsored the bill..

...“This is simply an attempt to mislead potential employers, landlords and the general public about a person’s history,” Assemblyman Michael Tannousis (R-Staten Island) said.....“When a defendant is in court and decides to either plea bargain their case or take their case to trial, they do so with the understanding that the charge will appear on the person’s record.”

New York DA Alvin Bragg sued after refusing to release Trump prosecution records

.....Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is facing two lawsuits for his failure to comply with state Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests for information about his office's possible communication with the Justice Department, White House and Democrat lawmakers with regard to Bragg’s prosecution of former President Donald Trump.....In March, Bragg indicted Trump on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree after a months-long investigation into the former president related to hush-money payments made during his 2016 presidential campaign.....Bragg is alleging that Trump falsified New York business records to "conceal damaging information and unlawful activity from American voters before and after the 2016 election."

.....The Heritage Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based conservative think tank, has sued Bragg under suspicions that he and his office coordinated or communicated with the Justice Department, the White House and Rep. Daniel Goldman, D-N.Y., about the prosecution. In its lawsuit, Heritage claims that such actions eventually led to investigations by several U.S. House committees into Bragg's conduct.....

....A separate lawsuit filed by Heritage alleges that Bragg and his team retained pro bono assistance from major law firms that specialize in white-collar litigation. They are now asking the court to declare requested documents as "subject to release under the New York Freedom of Information Law," declare that Bragg and his team provide said documents, and bar his team from "seeking costs and fees for the request at issue in this case.".... said they believe Bragg was "coordinating, or otherwise communicating" with Trump’s political opposition and that "there's reason to believe Bragg was a "prolific communicator" via cellphone.....

Shoplifting in NYC is so bad supermarkets are locking up, installing anti-theft devices on $6 ice cream: ‘This is the age we live in now’

....Shoplifters are running so wild in the Big Apple that pints of high-end ice cream now have special locked lids to thwart cold-hearted crooks.....The Fairway supermarket on the Upper West Side is guarding $6 cartons of Häagen-Dazs with bolted plastic tops — which can only be removed with a device at the register — as other shops padlocked freezers of the treats. A sign at Fairway gives shoppers the scoop on why there’s now a barrier on the popular summertime sweets....“To help maintain the lowest possible cost, a protective lock has been placed on some units of ice cream....This lock will be removed at checkout by a store associate. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

....Customers at the store, at Broadway and 74th Street, called the goodie-guarding gadget a sign of the times. “This is the age we live in now, unfortunately. This is the New York that we know....This has nothing to do with anything other than people coming in and ripping off places that are trying to make money.”....A cashier told The Post the ice cream is delivered with the clear locked lids already in place, and that they can be popped off with a round plastic device.....The locked lids have to be removed with a device at the register....

.....Other Manhattan stores also had ice cream under lock and key, including the Duane Reade at Broadway and 71st Street, which fastened a chain across a freezer door with a padlock.....The convenience store fastened a chain across a freezer door with a padlock to protect tubs of Breyers along with Oreo Cookie ice cream sandwiches and other frozen desserts.....“People used to come with garbage bags and fill up the garbage bags with ice cream. Clear out our freezers....”

....The Duane Reade on  East 53rd Street and Third Avenue also began padlocking a freezer to keep thieves from snatching ice cream such as Haagen-Daz and Magnum bars, a worker there told The Post....“We had to put the locks on because people kept stealing our Red Bull and Ice cream out the fridge.....” ......The CVS on Second Avenue and 51st Street in Midtown also had built-in locks placed on freezer doors last month, which customers called inconvenient.....Shopkeepers are screaming over ice cream bandits as overall shoplifting rates soar citywide — with 13,738 retail thefts reported in the first quarter of 2023, the most recent available NYPD data.....The shoplifting crisis was fueled in part by the state’s controversial 2019 bail reform law, which requires judges to cut loose criminals who commit misdemeanors and some nonviolent felonies....The soft-on-crime approach encourages repeat theft, according to police — who reported that nearly a third of all shoplifting busts last year involved the same 327 people, who were rearrested thousands of times....

In NYC, companies will have to prove their AI hiring software isn't sexist or racist

.....New York City businesses that use artificial intelligence to help find hires now have to show the process was free from sexism and racism.....A new law, which takes effect Wednesday, is believed to be the first of its kind in the world. Under New York’s new rule, hiring software that relies on machine learning or artificial intelligence to help employers choose preferred candidates or weed out bad ones — called an automatic employment decision tool, or AEDT — must pass an audit by a third-party company to show it’s free of racist or sexist bias....Companies that run AI hiring software must also publish those results. Businesses that use third-party AEDT software can no longer legally use such programs if they haven’t been audited.....Companies are increasingly using automated tools in their hiring processes.....

....Jake Metcalf, a researcher specializing in AI for Data & Society, a nonprofit group that studies the effects of technology on society, said the wording of the law — it defines AEDT as technology that will “substantially assist or replace discretionary decision making” — has led lawyers that advise large companies not to take it seriously.....“There are quite a few employment law firms in New York that are advising their clients that they don’t have to comply, given the letter of the law, even though the spirit of the law would seem to apply to them,” Metcalf said. ....“It’s very hard to figure out what ‘substantially’ means,” he said....

DA Alvin Bragg needs to take a look in the mirror after Daniel Penny indictment

.....Penny chose to defend himself and other F-train passengers in lower Manhattan May 1. When it was over, a career criminal with a long history of violent behavior was dead — and the former Marine Corps sergeant was under arrest.....On Wednesday, Penny was formally indicted on a charge of manslaughter in the second degree; he’s looking at 15 years in prison....Still, when Bragg early on announced that he wasn’t interested in vigorous prosecution of anything short of bloody murder, New York noticed......I hope Daniel Penny indictment won’t stop good Samaritans — like the ones who helped me — from acting....

.....Today the threat is episodic and largely confined to public spaces — the subways in particular — and it is driven by a refusal to enforce even minimal behavior standards. ...Encounters with the aggressively mentally ill and threatening, drug-addicted panhandlers happen everyday; they are terrifying precisely because they are random, potentially lethal —and, of course, because when they happen there is almost never a cop in sight.....But if Mr. District Attorney — and, indeed, New York’s crew of progressive co-conspirators — set out to write a recipe for vigilante violence, they couldn’t do better than what they’ve already done....When a city’s public spaces are ceded to the addled and addicted, what happens next — unpredictable violence — is inevitable.....

I have to wonder just who he will blame when people finally have enough of the crime.

New York to pay $13.7m to George Floyd protesters arrested or beaten by police

....New York City has agreed to pay more than $13m to thousands of people who say they were arrested or beaten by NYPD officers during racial justice protests in 2020....On Wednesday, the city accepted a sum of $13.7m to settle a class-action lawsuit. The settlement, which must be approved by a judge, would be among the most expensive payouts ever awarded in a suit over mass arrests....Adama Sow, one of the named plaintiffs in the lawsuit, said their group of marchers were trapped by police without warning. Sow and the other arrestees were placed in zip ties until their hands turned purple, they said, then held in a sweltering city government bus for several hours....“It was so disorganized, but so intentional,” Sow said. “They seemed set on traumatizing everyone.....”

....With certain exceptions, people arrested or subjected to force by NYPD officers at those protests will each be eligible for $9,950 in compensation, according to attorneys for the plaintiffs.....Each individual in that case will receive about $21,000 from the settlement. An additional $2,500 will be paid out to protesters who were served a desk appearance ticket, NBC News reported.....Separately, more than 600 people have brought individual claims against New York City related to police action during the 2020 protests, according to the city’s comptroller, Brad Lander. Roughly half of them have resulted in settlements and resolutions, costing the city nearly $12m to date.....

I would like to point out the resilience of the legal system to fend off the racist perversions of this Bragg retard.   We should look at this with a little respect for the system.

Sadly Mr. Penny had to devote well over a year of his life and a substantial amount of money to the defense of these politically motivated charges no responsible D.A. would have brought.  Bragg's abuse of his charging authority to score some political points asssociated with designs on higher office would have him disbarred if the system truely worked.

There needs to be some accountability for DAs.

Blue Horseshoe hasn't posted since March of 2023, so he must have gone to that great stable in the sky. RIP.
