I doubt this is a good way to win the UAW vote. 😁

Perhaps this is the reason he is cancelling interviews.

Is anyone concerned that prices are going to go up even more with Trump's tariffs?

Everyone who isn't in the cult.   Companies are not gonna be like  "Gee whiz, Trump added Tariffs, guess we will shut down our plant in Mexico and build one in Wisconsin".  They'll just raise prices.

I don't see how they can't affect prices right away though.  Our country isn't going magically start making everything in the states right away.  We're still going to rely on products from China for a while.

You mean as soon as Trump implements Tariffs, Corporations aren't going to shutter their plants in Mexico and Bangladesh and start building Million dollar factories in Nebraska overnight? (shocked Pikachu face)   They DEF wont just keep making things over seas and just raise the prices to cover the Tariffs right? Right?

I like the idea of what he wants to do but he's all talk.  I don't think it's going to be as simple as a lot of people seem to think it is.  People forget how many farmers Trump hurt with his last tariffs.  There were a lot of farms that shut down while he was President.  I have a feeling this round of tariffs will hurt a lot of people in the early years as well.

Agreed.  I like the sentiment of bringing jobs back to America. I like the sentiment of keeping illegal immigrants out as much as possible.  But his ideas for fixing both are asinine and will never work.

Where is the proof of this?

My uncle is a farmer and he told me Trump's presidency didn't affect his farming (corn and soybeans and cattle in Eastern Nebraska) operation at all.

Since he became president, Trump’s disastrous policies have contributed to the more than 2,000 dairy farms that have had to close their barn doors forever, with a record 818 disappearing for good last year alone. The people who live on these farms are more than a number or a statistic.

I think dairy farmers were affected the most.  I know Wisconsin was hit hard.

Were they receiving money from the government to help them?

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/14/donald-trump-coronavirus-farmer-bailouts-359932

Direct farm aid has climbed each year of Trump’s presidency, from $11.5 billion in 2017 to more than $32 billion this year — an all-time high, with potentially far more funding still to come in 2020, amounting to about two-thirds of the cost of the entire Department of Housing and Urban Development and more than the Agriculture Department’s $24 billion discretionary budget, according to a POLITICO analysis.

He was given some subsidies I believe. Farmers have been subsIdized by the govt for crops on and off for decades.

I want proof, not some commentary on a completely pro-Democrat/pro-Liberal website. What "disastrous Trump policies"? How did the dairy and crop markets "dry" up? Did this really happen and if so can it all be explained by the Covid Pandemic?

Yes, subsidies for farmers have happened for years and are much need many years.  The subsidies during Trump's Presidency were very large and some of it inflicted by Trump.  The weather and covid were not something that could've been prevented.

I don’t know what he’s doing for sure, and either do you, but Trump has said that he’s doing it across the board. Regardless if he does or not, it’s still a concern.
