Seeing as there as 17 tournaments they players "must" play in. We should just pick a 10 person team for the year.

I don’t like messing with a good thing (I know it’s in addition to edex) but my guess is people will get burnt out as we already saw with trying to do a bunch of un sanctioned events.

I thought about that too. The thing with the alternate is it will be like fantasy football. One draft and then no more obligations other than setting your lineup and making add/drops. Very little required engagement outside of the draft.

I mean it sounds interesting to me but I do think the fresh drafts of the edex make it fun, keep people feeling in it.

We didn’t get much interest so we will scrap it. I think we could have enough for some FanDuel side action. Me, you, and I know WW is on there. 6-8 of us would work. Listen2me might be down for that as well

I’d probably do a FanDuel. I have never done a private group contest on there and it had been a long time since I’d done one on DraftKings either. What is their rake?

I would suggest doing a group for the minimum entry allowed and handling the rest though venmo or PP

edit: looks like you can do a group with free entry. So I’d suggest just doing that and handling the payouts on our own.

Figured I'd put this in here... my golf buddy Jim passed away this morning. I met him 1.5 years ago when he joined our group as a single.  We hit it off because he had had throat cancer too, although not a laryngectomy.  The guy I was golfing with was about to move out of town and Jim asked if I'd be up for golfing together some.  We became very good pals, probably played about 25 rounds last year.

He was sick, dealing with at least two other cancers as well, most recently surgery for bowel cancer in December (which luckily left his bowels in tact).  He never really recovered from that, including infections that Mayo just couldn't figure out.  About a month ago they gave up and concluded his body was just failing, and he moved home for hospice.

I've visited him a few times since (he lives almost an hour away), most recently two days ago.  His wife said he was getting more confused but that he still knew me and was excited for my visit.  He was pretty coherent for that visit, although obviously in decline.  His wife said he died quickly and peacefully.

I mentioned to him that I'm going to Bandon Dunes, OR next week for 5 days (I'll brag on that separately).  It's possible I could miss his funeral for it, but he would be pissed if I missed out on a great golf opportunity for a funeral.

RIP Jim.  Hit em straight and far in your next life.
