listen2me 23 1,825 Posted August 2, 2023 What if the Jets offense is better than the Broncos? Then what? Hackett knows nothing and Payton is still a genius?
listen2me 23 1,825 Posted August 9, 2023 Anonymous broncos source spoke put against Payton saying some in organization didn't care for his antics. Some people who were retained felt slighted. A distraction. Now he also has rules. One being no bucket hats on sidelines. Good luck Sean.
WhiteWonder 2,675 Posted August 9, 2023 I was on record as not being happy with the Jets going after Rodgers... and then not happy with what they gave up. BUT, I will admit that Rodgers has done everything right since the trade. Participating in everything, being a teammate, handling the media well, taking a pay cut, saying he would play more than 1 season, etc. And we all know he is a petty guy. I can see him playing with a huge FU Green Bay chip on his shoulder this year. Payton is a d-bag. So is Rodgers but at least he's curbed it since coming to NY

Couple sour guys like Greg Jennings. It is an interesting battle of opinions on the guy.

I'm going more off things like playing word games about his vaccination status, darkness retreats, being absent from offseason workouts in GB, the family issues (though anyone could be to blame for that), etc. He just seems like a very smart but very petty guy. He is definitely quirky. I will say that. He is a dbag for skirting a vax question when the NFL and team knew his status? Seems like some TimHack stuff there. Wtf? Darkness retreats. Weird. Hes a dbag for it tho? He has been petty. All his teammates (98%) love the guy. A guy as nice as Aaron Jones couldn't say enough about him. I bet all his Jets teammates will love him too. But yes he skirted a vax question and the media said he is bad. So obviously the opinions of people he works with and sees everyday are not worth that. I was only anti trading for Rodgers because of the cost for a potential 1 year rental on a very young and talented team. I believe you are a Packers fan, yes? So I understand defending him... but let's not pretend that he hasn't shown some d-baggy, "i'm smarter/better than everyone" type traits. The darkness retreat is more an example of his indecisiveness to the Packers that has been present over the past few offseasons, no? I think it's fair to say that in recent offseasons he has come off as more important than the team. I bet all his Jets teammates will love him as well. He is going to be a great teammate for sure because he wants everything to go well to spite GB (my opinion). Players tend to like winning and these young Jets get to go from terrible QB play to a hall of famer.... If things go south quickly, we will see how Rodgers reacts. listen2me 23 1,825 Posted August 9, 2023 He felt slighted by the FO which I sorta of agree with him on. Gutey came in as GM and acted like Rodgers didn't reallu deserve much of anything. Not committed to winning it all. Draft his replacement way early. Send out rookie WRs as his top guys last year after back to back MVP seasons. Yeah he was petty and started playing games. He never got over them drafting Love so early when he wanted to get another SB. He and Lafleur pretty much got along and were buds. But he didn't like his offense. It is more for a SF type team to hide their QB. Not for a MVP HOF QB. Yet thats thr direction the FO went with Lafleur. Like I said he is petty. He has an ego. Many top athletes do, not all but many. But this narrative by the media that he isn't a leader or is a bad person is just funny when almost every single teammate has said nothing but the opposite. Either way I understand the dislike of Rodgers. But I think the media, guys like Cowherd, really ran that one up fot clicks. He isn't that bad. But anyone can have an opinion of him. Was just pointing out the stark contrast between his teammates and everyone else.
Mike Honcho 5,095 Posted September 24, 2023 Coach Payton, so last year's Broncos were the worst coached team ever?
EternalShinyAndChrome 3,829 Posted September 24, 2023 70-20. Wow. Is that a record? Did the Dolphins play a college team?

This shouldn't be possible against a professional football team. Think of all the quality guys who didn't make your favorite team's 53-man roster out of training camp. Denver's defense (should be) full of players at least that good, if not better.

Fnord 2,051 Posted September 25, 2023 Couldn't happen to a more deserving coach. I've got no ill will toward the Broncos, but I hope they lose 10 more games by 50 points this season, just to see that POS try to explain it. Hopefully when he gets fired he disappears from football forever.
