whenever I look at this I am shocked.........your top WR in New York are Slayton, Hodgins, Campbell, and Hyatt.

it is looking like Waller will be the #1 option in the pass game unless I am missing something.

any New York Homers want to chime in on this?   

I'm sure some WR has a decent year.   at this point I"m almost tempted to go with Hyatt (who happens to be a rookie)

 Realistically, what is the deal here?

Hyatt is the WR to own in that room. He didn't win the Baryshnikov trophy for nothing.

Not missing a thing. You fully understand the situation. I'm not an early/mid Te guy, but Waller in the 4th-5th rd will return value for someone.

IMO the only Giants Wr worth drafting is Hodgins... extremely late in the draft.

This actually feels exactly like the Raiders Pass game in those years where Waller put up those huge numbers.

Wandale Robinson being activated complicates the situation a bit.

 

I'd rank them for Fantasy: 1. Hodgins 2. Parris Campbell 3. Slayton. But as has been said many times Waller will lead this team in every receiving category if healthy...

Waller has reportedly looking amazing in training camp. "Expert" I respect thinks he has Te 2 potential. I mocked last night and when Waller was still there early rd 6, I drafted him even though I rarely take a Te that early.  Felt good. Doubt he'll be there in my real draft, but if he is... I'll be tempted.

at that point in the draft I dont think you can really lose.  and if he does what I think he can do...... he could put you over the top.

I took him in the 6th of my 10 team league. I could’ve waited another round for Engram or Freiermuth but I think Waller has a much higher ceiling.

Waller will finish #2 TEs behind someone named Kelce, if Waller stays healthy.

Having second thoughts on Waller...  coming off back-to-back injury riddled seasons and being 30 yo worries me. 'Kelce is 3 years older and he's still great.' But Kelce hasn't missed hardly any games, let alone 14 games in a two year span with hamstring and knee injuries. Plus Kelce has a long history of success. Waller has been in the league for 7 years... he's had 1 truly great season (2020), and 1 good season (2019).

Then there's opportunity cost... Round 6 is very important for me (assuming he falls that far). Basically the final round to get a reliable Rb or Wr and I depend on drafting one of those positions at this point depending how the draft goes.

I fully believe "experts" that Waller should get insane targets as the Giants main receiving option, but that's assuming he's on the field to take advantage. Can't blame anyone for drafting him and going for that potential upside which is clearly there, but I can't stomach the risk and opportunity cost.  Guess I'm back to being a late round Te guy.

This is correct.  This topic needs no more discussion.  If you draft a pass catcher for NYG other than Waller, you haven’t been watching the Giants the past few years, and you deserve what you get…and your crying is just going to annoy everyone that pays attention.

Darius Slayton is the Giants best WR in my opinion. Hyatt looks really good and could surpass him. I would think Slayton will get the most targets at least early in the season.

Slot Wr = lots of receptions, some yardage, very few Tds. Often results in 5 rec, 50 yds... most of the season.  Not true of all slot guys, but generally.

Hodgins is the deep threat.  Which when successful can equal fantasy gold.

Hodgins increased utilization last year intrigues me the most.  Clearly some chemistry with DJ.

He lined up slot 151 times in '21.  I don't have premium access to slot starts in '22, but according to an article I found, you're right.

Apparently he's moved to outside receiver.  My mistake.

he is actually a guy I'd consider with a late round pick.    he showed some signs of being a player last year.   so there is the chance he could do something this year.

I fully agree it could be a hail mary but in the last or second to last round of your draft I could think of worse picks to make.

10-12 team leagues I wouldn’t see the need to draft any of those WRs.  14 and larger leagues I can see them on rosters.  But not on mind.
