The mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew was recently detained for nearly a month.   A judge recently stated she was neither a danger nor a flight risk, and DHS did not appeal.  DHS also appears to have lied about claiming she never lived with her son.

Not surprising in the slightest that these holier-than-thou Republicans are having babies out of wedlock and then using their positions to f over the mother of their nephew.

They are absolute trash, and now that they have power they are REALLY showing their true colors. Loathsome human beings…

This is tragic. Leavitt is a young woman but she’s obviously shrugged off even family in her ambition.

Cool. Maybe the US will get known as a concentration camp for illegals and those illegals will stop coming here because this place tortures illegals.

I love it.

The Administration has installed a bias monitor Commissar at CBS as a condition of its parent company’s merger.

>>>The saga came to an ignominious end last week with the federal government’s approval of the $8 billion merger between CBS’ corporate parent Paramount and Skydance — creating a “new Paramount” company. That merger followed Paramount’s capitulation to Trump’s bogus lawsuit with a $16 million settlement. (Trump claims the company promised an additional $20 million in PSAs, but Paramount’s new chairman and CEO David Ellisonhasn’t confirmed or denied that claim.) That’s peanuts for a corporate behemoth, but as we’ve seen from law firms like Paul Weiss, universities like Columbia and other corporate media companies like Disney/ABC, cowardice is contagious. And the imposition of a “bias monitor” is the real win for Trump.<<<

>>>Gomez told me in an email that she’s concerned the CBS News bias monitor’s job will be “to ensure that journalists do not criticize this administration or express views that conflict with its agenda,” calling it a “never-before-seen form of government intrusion into the newsroom” that she says is “in clear violation of the First Amendment and the law.” She added, “To this administration, ‘media bias’ appears to mean anything or anyone it disagrees with.”<<<

The driver crashed into a post and hit some cars and “just slumped over in her vehicle," Heller said. She shared graphic video that shows the woman covered in blood in the driver's seat. A man with raised arms who identified himself as a physician asked ICE agents if he could check the woman's pulse but was denied, according to both Heller's account and the video.

Heller said the agents wouldn't let anyone near the scene and told people that emergency services were on the way. In the video, one agent can be heard saying, "We have our own medics."

It took about 15 minutes for EMS to arrive, Heller estimated, because vehicles were blocking the street.

“They were on foot when they got through, and they carried her body out, just like by her limbs, they didn’t even have a stretcher," Heller said. "She was carried out like a sack of potatoes."

“I’ve never seen anything like this before. This was horrific and will change my life forever,” she said. “It’s just so terrifying. I feel so scared."

She said she felt as if the ICE agents were untrained, inexperienced and didn’t know what they were doing. Heller said the driver was being told to leave but also being instructed to stop at the same time, then the man "just fired" his gun.

"They’re just out of their league, and they didn’t know how to handle the situation," Heller said. "They couldn’t let somebody give life support. It was just total chaos.”

She said at times she was frightened watching the agents, some of whom were touching their guns. Heller thought in that moment, "oh ... I could die," she said.<<

>>>>The Trump gang’s embrace of violence is not subtle. On Monday night, Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff, spelled it outon CNN. Asked by host Jake Tapper if the Trump administration might use military force to seize Greenland, he refused to rule it out, and remarked, “Nobody’s going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland.”

He then shared what might be called the Trump Doctrine: “We live in a world, in the real world, Jake, that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power. These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.”

In short, might makes right. This was a not-too-veiled threat against…well, everyone, including foreign governments and all people within the United States. If the Trump administration has the power to do something, it will. Implied in this stance is the exercise of violence. Either in Greenland or in the homeland. Those who do not bend to Trump’s will—or Miller’s—can expect to feel their violent wrath.

In those two sentences, Miller was saying that there is no rule of law. The world, instead, is governed only by force. That means violence. This ugly and dark stance is an attack on the fundamental concept of rules-based civilization. It is profoundly anti-democratic. It ignores such niggling matters as rights, societal order, and the public good. All that counts is who has the bigger or better club to swing.

An essential element of a police state is the excessive use and threat of violence, and in the past few days the nation has seen such displays. As Trump reaches the end of the first year of his return to power, he and his lieutenants are demonstrating their willingness to deploy force beyond its legitimate use to achieve their aims. The warning is clear and intentional: We are violent. Beware.<<<
