Baker Boy 1,698 Posted October 21, 2023 AI earbud, translation devices can translate 27 languages. This is the future.
BeenHereBefore 1,514 Posted October 21, 2023 On a serious note learn Spanish and you can make good money as a translater with all the illegals coming over. Had a friend that made good money years back doing that, He could also sing the Fock out of Feliz Navdad (Spanish Version).

IGotWorms 4,057 Posted October 21, 2023 I’m not sure this is for you. Generally it’s more cultured and open-minded people that want to learn other languages. Part of the idea is to step into other peoples’ shoes and experience the world as they do, which is basically the last thing righties ever want. I suppose you could learn Russian for your lover Putin, or Mandarin for when Xi takes over. Perhaps Korean since you guys love your dictators.
jerryskids 6,757 Posted October 21, 2023 Wife and I spend a few weeks using the Babbel app before our trip to Italy. I'd say it was fairly useless. I learned to conjugate "to be", yippee, Io sono molto bene$#@! Much more useful was: the first few numbers, acqua = water, frizzante = bubbly water, asporto = to go, for drinks particularly coffee (no Italians trusted me though; they all repeated "take away?"). I'm not sure you can really learn a language without immersing yourself somewhat.

Stryker Ryker 188 Posted October 21, 2023 I know Spanish but have been wanting to learn Japanese & Italian for when we travel over there. When my son is older, I’m going to learn mandarin with him together as a way to bond. But it will also help him later in life, especially business.

BunnysBastatrds 2,421 Posted October 21, 2023 There’s a government program online that teaches over forty languages, for free. It was written to help government employees to learn languages they may need. It’s the fastest way to learn them. Better than any you can buy. Can’t remember the .gov website. The hardest one I tried was Arabic. On a 1-5 rating, it’s a five if you are learning from a program. English is a three and a half. I’ll look for it later. I had two friends from Malaysia who taught me their native language. Very easy. A one on the scale. It’s been over thirty years and rusty. Bahee and Hi.
