Hope for the Border?

Why Senate Dems are prepared to swallow a border policy compromise

Quote

Democrats probably wouldn’t even be considering this had Republicans not drawn a red line earlier this fall on linking the border with Ukraine. And so far, talks among Democrats and Republicans have centered around stricter asylum standards, with several Democrats saying they could support raising the bar for migrants to successfully claim asylum in the United States.

Even though they seemingly had to be compelled to honor their oath to our Nation, I give Democrats some credit for being willing to at least consider protecting us and honoring their oath

I suggest we can now consider Adam to be <ahem> "awake" to the consequences of allowing unfettered immigration.   I would like to see him continue to learn and grow, and eventually stand up for his city and citizens to oppose the Democrat-driven open border

It's not only the open border though, it's the fact that several other key areas have to be cut in order to pay for the people, housing, resources. I know that the "crisis" can be summed up in that one word, but the fact that they are cutting police force and other things like that just make it all the more worse, IMO.

Cut police, crime goes up. Not to mention, NY probably has similar laws to CA in what they prosecute and actually spend time on to put offenders away. In CA, many are just let back out hours later.

I am glad to see that leaders are a bit more open minded to some extent. It really is ruining cities.

You want to stop paying for housing and resources for refugees who come to our borders. Isn’t that correct? If not I apologize.

Yeah, that's wrong.

Has anyone thought to ship them to North Korea? I am sure little rocket man can use some more free labor.

Border is not wide open.  Wide open means anyone can come in at any time, not true.

The over 1 million gotaways under the Biden administration tend to disagree with you.

I am fine with that.   Let them know, let them all know....we will not service you when you arrive....and fewer will come.

You really need to better understand human nature, otherwise your ideas will harm the most challenged among us.  Who do you think this siphoning of funds and services hurts? It is not the middle or upper classes.....its the lower economic strata.....and guess who is in that strata?  The other groups the Democrats exploit for votes and pretend to care about.....

This is my main problem with Liberalism....it is knowledge without wisdom.

Is it really knowledge though, because a lot of the liberals I know and of course see on social media just seem to parrot what they hear and what they are told. Especially younger generations. Older generations of liberals might be able to hold discussions with you and bring up good points, but for the most part they are just repeating what the read on Twitter.

I think it is.....sure there is some element of indoctrination, and we can see it on display here and there.

But these people clearly are bright, and often are able to adeptly verbalize their position. So they appear, to me, to have some knowledge.....but their thoughts are flawed, now I attribute that in part to the low quality of teaching they have been subjected to.

Our universities have failed many of our kids for a few decades now, filling their minds not with critical thinking skills....but with social agenda and indoctrination, as well as intolerance.

When you listen to some of them, take AOC for example, she is clearly able to learn and use what she has learned, no doubt.  Her problem is that of maturity. She is convinced that she has it all figured out, and if we just did everything her way the world would be fine.  She is wrong of course, but she cannot know that until her ideas fail.

The problem we have is the desire of Democrats to harvest the vote of the youth, and the elevation of their ideas without critical rebuttal to the level of policy.  We know what they propose will not work, because every where it is tried it fails.  We know because we have lived long enough to understand people.  These people who are so forceful with their ideology have no idea as to the harm they can cause.

And so what do they do?  Time and again, employ policy.....and when it goes to sh!t the look around and start pointing fingers at others....usually the ones who opposed them, and insist it must be THEIR fault....because mommy and daddy along with Dr knownothing at University of Intolerance told them what to think, and that they are always right as long as they think as they are told....
