11 teams in the AFC have winning records, compared to 5 in the NFC.  I think we start to expect greatness from one or two teams, but the reality is there is more parity than ever before.   I still think the AFC is a better overall conference, and even if you say Philadelphia and San Fran are better than all those AFC teams, they aren't that much better. 

I see about 6 teams I feel can make the run in January and win a Super Bowl.  And I still count the z chiefs as one of those teams.

I’m looking at teams that could realistically win a SB. I’ve probably got the same 6 teams as you but 3 of the top 4 or so are in the NFC. Comparing the relative merits of the Jags vs the Lions or whatever doesn’t mean much this time of year. 

SF and Dallas are clearly better than any AFC team and the Eagles have beaten the best that conference has to offer.

Yeah, but it becomes one game when you start talking afc vs nfc.  And at that point, anyone who makes it that far has a chance to beat the other team.   So your best of the best three nfc teams still only get one chance to beat the afc team that makes it through.   And there isn't a real clear favorite at this point.

That’s true - like I said KC has a path because they can get there. But they aren’t the favorite as in years passed.

Joe Barry worst DC in league.  A minute left 3rd atring QB, FG wins and he has CBs lined up not even on the screen.  Routinely does this.  Mind numbing.    Here are 3 or 4 layup passes Cutlet Man.   We dare you to complete a few wide open passes and get into FG range.

It’s the second half of his second season. If he’s nit up to it stop feeding him so much and out the game on the hands of your superstar qB. Maybe get a lead then run?

And we have Rich Basaccia whose units have missed multiple extra points this year, multiple routine field goals, who have fumble punt receptions, and who seem unable to understand blocking rules.  Most importantly we have Matt Lafleur who tossed away the script of their last several victories and returned to the script from their losing streak.  instead of running between the tackles where they were experiencing success we wanted to run wide with a 250 pound back or with 5 too many end arounds.  The jet sweep worked, the end arounds did not and they got Watson injured last week and contributed to injuries again.  The double reverses and flea flickers were a joke, we were running into each other.  The W.R. screens which worked last year with Lazzard blocking have not worked all year and he went with at least 5 of those.  His screen to Dillion was a disaster with dillion on the ground.  God forbid he would call more of what works, runs up the gut and passes over the middle.  As for defense I was calling for a spy on DeVitto after the first series.  The Packers would overwhelm the line but have no lane discipline and he would take off and gut us.  At least four times they could have sacked him if they would have just reached out their arms, but they never did.  We are a team of low football I.Q. from the top down.  For instance, when you muff a punt and dive to the ground to recover it, taking over a second, do not try to regain your feet.  during that second the entire coverage team has converged on your stationary ass and are going to blow you up.  Nothing good can come of trying to make a play at that point.

Total team loss.  Cosches, QB, Oline, D, SPTs.  Played awful, putrid.  Still had a chance to win if you stop a 3rd string qb in windy conditions.   Then Jor Barry went full Joe Barry.  Cant stand his defense.

Um... you can't compare a Mahomes team to a Dilfer team. There is no similarity. You need an elite defense and an elite RB. The Trent Dilfer comparison in 2023 would be something maybe the Browns could say, with former sofa riding 38 y/o Joe Flacco.

You don't need to go back in time that far for a better example. For a team led by an elite QB like Mahomes and his 2023 Chiefs, a better comparison would be just a few years ago. There was another elite HoF QB similar to Mahomes who took over Jameis Winston's 7-9 Tampa Bay team and dragged/willed them to the Super Bowl.

I think you are under rating that TB defense, as well as the current chiefs defense.   The Chiefs have a really good defense.

They don't have the Y2K Ravens D. That's an all-time best, once in a generation D. Them and the '85 Bears. Twice in our lifetime. Add Jamal Lewis or Walter Payton and stir for sixty minutes before serving up an L.  Nobody compares and even Trent Dilfer can QB a team like that to the Super Bowl.

My prediction is he remains unless they just go in the tank down the stretch defensively.   Problem with hiring your pal. 

Worst offensive line in league and they got no sacks.   They let a harmless pass attack run for 200, again.   Back up and let a 3rd stringer complete easy passes unto FG range to set up a game winning FG.  Its a freebie year with a banged up young offense.  The defense yesterday  was hardly the only unit who sucked.   But help a young offense out for once.   Get aggressive for once vs a bottom offense.   

Team has spent too many resources on defense to end up mediocre at best each year.  But things move like molasses in GB.
