Mandatory University of Wisconsin Law School seminar tells students ‘there are no exceptional White people’

Recommended Posts

😆

A mandatory "re-orientation" seminar for first-year students at the University of Wisconsin Law School allegedly instructed them to share racial slurs and claimed "there are no exceptional White people," according to reports.

Students were asked before the Friday presentation to review pamphlets, one of which claimed"colorblindness" can negate the life experiences, norms and cultural values of people of color.

"By saying we are not different, that you don't see the color, you are also saying you don't see your whiteness. This denies the people of colors' experience of racism and your experience of privilege," the pamphlet read.

The two-hour lecture was held by self-described "social justice educator" Joey Oteng, who used it as a "follow-up to the DEI session" that students attended at the beginning of the fall semester, according to Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Lauren L. Devine.

"Re-orientation is intended to do just that – reorient you now that you have your first semester of law school behind you and a new semester ahead," Devine wrote in an email to students. She also told students to review an article on "28 Common Racist Attitudes and Behaviors" and finish a "Race Timeline Worksheet" prior to the seminar.

Part of "The 28 Common Racist Attitudes and Behaviors" article suggests people of color cannot be racist.

"Let's first define racism with this formula: Racism =racial prejudice + systemic, institutional power. To say people of color can be racist, denies the power imbalance inherent in racism," the handout said.

Another section of the pre-activity materials claimed White people benefit from racial oppression regardless of their actions, noting that "there are no exceptional White people."

Sources who spoke with The Federalist under the condition of anonymity said Oteng used a real-time interactive survey where students were asked to respond to the phrase "I understand institutional and systemic racism" on a scale from "unsure" to "confidently."

The law school's spokesman, John Lucas, told the outlet the seminar "was held in partial fulfillment of ABA (American Bar Association) Standard 303's requirement that law schools provide education to their students on "bias, cross-cultural competency, and racism."

Ignorance.    Ideology posing as education.  Is there any wonder we see the kind of vile behaviors from our younger generations.  We are filling them with lies and hate....😒

It's more of the same. Now that we are as close as ever to the colorblindness, racial parity, and equality as ever that was the goal of the 60s, the "anti-racists" come along to criticize colorblindness and continue the grift by artificially inserting race into everything.

Need liberals to grow a spine call the freaks on their side out, but that's asking too much of them as they are cowards by nature. White liberals, would rather clap on command like Jimmy Kimmel did for Anthony Anderson's racism.

Reading is fundamental. I didn't say that no one in the world had ever said it (you can always one on YouTube). In fact, another poster pointed out that the discussion was about it being said in this forum.

I find it amazing that the younger generation even tolerates this shlt. Who are raising these kids to be so succeptible to the lies? No chance that when I was that age that myself or my peers ever put up with that.

Your point is important.  The kids are just the useful idiots being poisoned by parents and the educational system who are politically motivated to ruin the best thing the world has going for it.

I wonder what would happen to any of those students if they dared to disagree? Fascists would make their life hell.

They'd be labelled as racists and harassed by the Leftist lunatics on campus.  Conservatism has had to go completely underground at American colleges and universities.

Well, at least the liberals are persistent in their pursuits.

First they created and ran the kkk, now they infiltrate the educational system.

Think about this a little differently....

Liberals see the value of people based on their appearance, but even then if the person has the "right" immutable factors....they can still be rendered as excommunicated if they do not fully summit to liberalism.....and it is submit, or else....

Now, if you are saying "but that is wrong", well then you are looking at it properly.  But it is worse.....

They do this, and then assign inabilities to those people with immutable characteristics.  They say dark complected is less capable....so we have to lower standards for them since they cannot compete....

And then of course, if you lack the proper pigmentation, or are successful (and do not submit) then you have to be labelled as undeserving.....by dint of your skin color....

So who you are....what you have done.....does not matter.  In fact, if you are white and done something verifiably "good" you have still proven yourself to be a racist....so then, NOTHING you do if you have the wrong pigmentation is good or ok....

This is modern liberalism

So boyo.  What are you thoughts about folks who've been pushed ahead due to nothing more than their name?  Best schools, best jobs, best contacts, etc all simply because of their family.   Nothing to do with their ability.

Never hear you say a word about that.  But let a non-white person get pushed forward and you're on it like white on rice.

SAD

Ohhh, I can see the hatred oozing out of you simply because someone has better, more responsible, intelligent and successful  parents than you have.

Oh so you're in favor of people being pushed ahead not for their accomplishments or ability but for their last name?

That helps me understand why you're a rentcell.

Just really poor decision making ability.

You're the one who sticks up for hunter biden. And 10% for the big guy. 😆

But yeah, I prefer kids being raised by intelligent parents who can afford to raise kids properly. That usually works out better for the family and all of society.

You can apply color or race to the person or people all you want but I'm not biting on that.

Here is the dilemma that will often crop up for you and I.  Projection.  You think like this, but I do not.  You will allow nuance to dictate, and you assume I will as well.

Wrong is wrong. It is wrong in the scenario you have posted, and it is wrong when it is done anywhere else.  You should stop assuming my morality is as malleable as yours.....

I can only go by what you post.  You post ad nauseum about the evils of liberals and how minorities get an unfair advantage.

You NEVER post about people who were pushed forward via through no skill or advancement of their own, just due to their last name.

No one should be denied a job or an opportunity because of their race. No one should get one either because of their race.  Crazy, right? So racist.

So putting unskilled, low gpa indivuduals who have criminal records in the front of the line, simply because of their skin color and their parents low net worth, to get into universities over proven talented kids is what your dreams are filled with?

No, stop repeating that lie.

Liberals did not create nor run the KKK. It may have been Democrats but none of them could be considered liberal or being on the left at that time.

This is not accurate, though there is plenty of evidence of me noting how these groups you mention are mistreated by liberals.   In fact, a simple search might suggest that your entire premise is not correct.

What I WILL do....is highlight the inappropriate use of race as a measurement, the inappropriate use of immutable characteristics and the apparent resurgence of the historical behaviors of segregationist Democrats from the past.....which i think is backwards and not helping us move forward.

Back when I was at UW-Madison, I definitely would have skipped that lecture...the law school is almost at the top of Bascom Hill, too much effort. Pretty much the entire reason I decided not to pursue a career in law, the hill.

Well it is two thirds of the way up the hill, or was back in the day.  BTW, I did it in Lincoln's lap with Cathy Johnson.
