I see snippets of tiktok videos where people whine and moan about life being so hard. Everything being so expensive. It's all total absolute bunk

It has never been easier to grow wealth than right now. The opportunities are endless.

My friend was just telling me today he's going to 100x his money by next year. Whether he succeeds or not, it does happen to people now a days. 30 years ago it was unheard of for an opportunity to exist for everyone to 100x their money.

The safest and most abundant times of history are right now.

I am bathing in money making opportunities, and they are only accelerating.

The harder you believe it is to make money, the harder it will be. The easier you think it is to make money, the easier it will be. The more abundant you believe opportunities to be, the more true that will become.

You're right, I was. I realized God exists and that our words and beliefs shapes our reality. Now I am a much different person than I was. I am in a much better situation. I am in much greater control of my emotions, and multiple money making opportunities have presented themselves to me like never before.

Ok 100x wasn't some impossibility, but the knowledge to do so wasn't mainstream like it is now. The point still stands that it's easier than ever to find those opportunities, especially for people without specific or special knowledge.

I was not watching tiktok. I don't watch anything on there accept for the occasional video my wife sends me. I see Twitter posts that have tiktok videos in them. I usually don't watch that low vibrational stuff.

Your best bet 30 years ago (which was right in the middle of the-long-boom by the way) would have been compounding growth of money.   If you had taken advantage of that you probably wouldn't be looking for a get rich quick scheme right now.

I do somewhat agree with the title of the thread though.  You just need to take it back further to 60 or 100 years.

100 years ago most people didn't plan for retirement, if you didn't' have a government pension, they just assumed they'd be working their whole lives.  401K wasn't invented until the early seventies, index funds in 1976 with regular people starting to invest heavily in the 80s and 90s.  And with today's technology real time trading with very low fees.

It's my duty as a good person to get as rich as I can. With my accumulation of energy, money, I can do great things with it.

Agreed compounding is great strategy. I'm only 40 so no go on investing 30 years ago. I also didn't really get into the investing mindset until recently.

This also isn't just about investing. I have other money making opportunities.

nah.  I mean, sure, if the barometer is retirement planning.... but immense opportunities to greatly increase your wealth have always existed. The "roaring twenties" had no shortage of people capitalizing. And yes, it's always relative to the times.

Labor force participation rate for men over 65 was over 60% in 1920.  Today it's closer to 15%.  Changes are better than not in 1920 that you're working past age 65 , or dead because life expectance was sub 55 years.

That's a "shortage of people capitalizing" as compared to today.

then you're getting into technological advancements, which of course are going to open new avenues (old avenues close though... the dot com bubble burst... the gold rush already happened... i'm just pulling these out of the air). People getting rich off new tech advancements are usually just taking over from the people who already got rich with the old tech it's replacing.

We weren't comparing opportunities to other people in the same time period.  It's today's opportunities, period, to opportunities in other time periods.

But if we're talking today versus the 1920s it's easy:

85% says to the 15%, "Hey, why aren't you a part of the 85%, plenty of opportunity?"   - makes some sense.

40% says to the 60%, "Hey why aren't you a part of the 40% club?"  - pretty stupid, obviously not enough opportunity.

2 of my golf buddies wanted to film our rounds and make a youtube channel. This was like 5-10 years ago. 

As much as "influencers" annoy me, I do think most of them probably get a bad rap. Yes, there are people who got famous for just being outlandish trash like the cash me outside girl you mentioned earlier. But there are so many others where their job as an influencer is really just a social media marketing job. Filming and editing their content, growing their following, negotiating brand deals with companies etc.  They could just as easily have the same type of job for most companies.
