Wow, I know we're supposed to make fun of such athletes here, but that was freaking impressive!  :o

You know what sport has really made me change my mind lately? Cheerleading. No kidding. Now they're throwing these little models I mean cheerleaders in the air and those hardbod little girls are balancing on a guy's Palm and doing all kinds of maneuvers. It's freaking impressive.

Skating is one of the sports that impresses me in the olympics.  Like gymnastics, it's mostly mental.  You know your routine, you just need to go do it.  That's it.  Simple, right?  Obviously not.  Major head games.

Looking forward to the Paris games (yes I know, skating is in them).

Is it just me or was anyone really hoping to see Bob Probert fly in from the boards Terry Tate style?

That would be awesome!

Exactly. Those guys might be fruitcakes but holy hell do you have to be really gifted to do that stuff.
i’m not sure there’s another sport that I don’t really watch where I come away more impressed and amazed by those people.

I've always seen figure skating as a sport.  That said, I don't really watch it much.  I know they're all very skilled and talented, I just won't put too much time into watching.  It's something to turn on between commercials during the Olympics.

that could of only happened if this were held at the old Joe Louis Arena because Probert's family spread his ashes in the penalty box there.

Doing a couple difficult tricks doesn't make it a sport in my.opinion. That being said, 'entertainment' and 'sport' are often interchangable. There are things that people do in movies, dance, music, the circus, that are pretty physically amazing. I'm not sure where to draw the line though.

A couple difficult tricks? What he did, has never been done before, ever.

Yeah. It happens in the circus, dance, and other things as well. If you think you go to the Metropolitan Opera House today and are seeing the same thing people saw in 1975 on stage, you are sorely mistaken.

Creeps me out that so many of the mandatory moves involve girls showing the crowd their panties.
