Tough to say anymore. For a long time McClatchy was very reliable, don’t know if they’re even around anymore and I can’t recall their more familiar previous name. @Pimpadeaux a little help?

Reuters is OK but of course they have a more European focus. There’s really no single non-primary source I’d trust just by itself on a given story. It sure isn’t local or network news and it’s definitely not tabloids like NYPost. NYT is hopelessly corrupt in a different way but they’re mostly just a mouthpiece for the center right elite. WaPo was a beacon during Katie Graham’s era (her memoir is still maybe my all time favorite) despite her somewhat indignant anti unionism but now it’s mostly DC New York Times. You get some better news out of them because of the governmental focus but by and large they’re colonist/gentrifying grifters of the District of Columbia and act like it.

Is the standard tactic when you are cornered.  You trot out stats that are essentially a lie.   You see, what this coward DA did was try to suggest that current and incomplete stats, prior to the peak crime months of summer, can be compared to past years in entirety.  So he takes a narrow line of stats to pretend its  some kind of "proof".   

Not surprising coming from a despicable POS such as this DA....thank god he was ousted.

And worse.....actual criminal justice reform is a need.....we need it..... and what this coward has done with his antics is set that process back...

What did he do specifically? It’s true that he was handed thousands of unprosecutable cases from cops, and it’s also true that our cops are awful at pursuing and closing cases properly. They’re literally under a federal settlement decree because they’re fuckups.
