Creepy joe, your love interest, does like spending a lot of other people's money...

I know you have trouble following along and this is hypothetical…but this would be the oil money people.

We've discussed this before: nuclear fusion investment is great but it's decades away if ever, so it is more "research" than "development" for a while.  We should definitely do it.  But I disagree with Tim's take that we should leverage every possible resource to do it, because frankly, current fission technology is pretty darn good.  We just need to build some modern reactors -- all of the ones in use in the US are at least 2 generations of technology behind, IIRC.

You could talk me into this. I’m not opposed to fission. Of course the problem is what to do with the waste.

Waste is a solvable problem.  Worst case, just launch it out into space.  If you believe it is an existential crisis and all.

What about that giant space catapult they just developed?  Sling it out there 400 pounds at a time.  of course that may end up leaving a bunch of radioactive crap in orbit creating navigation hazards, if they can't get it completely free of earth's gravity.

Perhaps someone with experience hiring illegals could get a few to bury the stuff in dying shopping malls in southern California.  Who would notice, those malls are ghost towns now anyhow, home to nail salons and hair extension places mostly.

The problem is the low IQ lemmings who think we have a climate crisis.
