Who's asking the teacher to do this?  The law gives the teacher discretion without requiring them to relay information that could put the student in harm.

Teachers should tell any student who wants to change their pronoun that it's something they should discuss with their parents and/or counselor.  The teacher's job is to educate.  It's really that simple.
