Well after watching it again, I’m pretty sure they were mocking Da Vinci’s painting. But that’s what art is supposed to be about. I liked it. Honestly there is so much discrimination against trannies these days that I tend to like anything that promotes them.

I loved the irony coming from people who want inclusion and tolerance. Very odd way to go about it.

As a Christian, you most definitely insulted me.  On a Sunday no less.  Not sure why Liberals need to argue about this one.  When you offend someone, intentionally or not, just apologize and mend the fence.  There’s nothing wrong with that.

As you would with preferred pronouns I'm sure?

Any reports of retaliation and or violence against the lgbtq community by Christians concerning this ? Have any Christian leaders called for it?

I didn’t say it should be retracted. I wrote it wasn’t necessary. Not the same. Also I’m not trying to tell anyone how they should feel. I’m offering my opinion. You’re free to offer a different opinion. The difference between us (aside from our opinion) is that I’m not going to insult you after you offer yours.

The difference between you and most people is that you rarely let facts influence your opinion.  You take stances on feeling a certain way.  It’s like I said the other day, it’s like you have the inability to apply reason to situations.  It’s weird.

Even if it is depicting the last supper, why is it upsetting?  Because Christians think LGBT folks are sinners?

You really need this explained to you?  It’s Jesus’ last supper with his apostles, the night before he was crucified.  For believers, it’s one of the most significant, holy moments in Christianity.  I don’t care who mocks it, either.  But yeah, a guy with his nuts hanging out in front of a child makes it even more of an insult.

You honestly think that after the outrage came in he would admit it was also about The Last Supper?  😆

The two most controversial characters in the skit have both admitted it was about The Last Supper.  But keep gaslighting and do what you Lwftusts do.  Purge the truth, rewrite the history books….

Keep in mind, Tim is the same guy that loses his bacon if you don't use the proper fake pronouns for people.   People that represent .0004% of the populations worldwide.  But insulting 75% of the world - nah.  That's insignificant and not a big deal.

Uh, you literally just said you did.

I agree the guy with his nut(s) hanging out is inappropriate, but that isn’t why everyone was initially upset about the supposed depictiion.

Other than that guy, which again I bet most people didn’t even notice at first, I guess I don’t see how they’re “mocking” it (if we play along and say that’s even what it was depicting, which the artistic director said it wasn’t).  If anything it would appear to be an appeal to inclusivity, I don’t see what’s upsetting other than the fact that the people in it are hated and discriminated against by many of that faith, but you are of course welcome to your opinion.

No I don’t, but @nobody did do a good job exposing @Patented Phil’s likely hypocrisy on that subject.

The facts in this instance seem to support that this had nothing to do with The Last Supper. Therefore I don’t think there was any need to apologize. But many Christians FEEL insulted. So I think in terms of facts vs feelings, you have it quite backwards.

You know it never occurred to me before, but Da Vinci’s painting is quite similar to Greek depictions of Dionysus’ revelries. Which might have been a little subtle mockery on his part. Perhaps the real complaint here should be with Leonardo?

no.  You are wrong about this.  I just posted irrefutable evidence on this.  The two central characters in the skit have admitted on social media that this was about The Last Supper.  Do you even read things that challenge your position?

Also probably worth noting of course that Jesus himself may not have hated LGBT folks.

Yeah, the designer of the event is lying to cover his butt.  The actors in the production literally knew it was based on Jesus.  See Phil's twitter link.

So it’s emotion to believe the designer of the piece and logic to think that he’s lying? What a messed up world you live in. All of the emotion is on your part. You want to be outraged by this so it HAS to be an attack against Christianity. If it wasn’t then all the outrage was a waste of time and once again you just look like a bigot against trans people. Therefore you’ve made it up your mind: it was The Last Supper!

For the third time, the actors involved in the production LITERALLY called it The Ghey New Testament.  See the Twitter link.

Which is why I wrote that the apology was unnecessary. But did you read the actual apology? It was like “hey we’re sorry if you felt offended but…” that’s how my wife says I apologize lol.

Oct 7 didn’t bother people like the two Tims.  Why does anyone think basic, obvious bigotry would?

I don’t read Twitter.
And anyhow maybe the actors got that wrong or created that comparison themselves. It certainly doesn’t appear to be what the designer intended.

And I know you think Jolly, the designer, is a liar. But if so it’s a very believable lie, because it really did look like the classical depictions of Bacchus (Dionysus) celebrations, even more than it looks like the Last Supper. And that would also fit with the gay and trans themes. So to me that explanation is extremely plausible- but hey what do I know? I’m just a “feelings” guy right? Not a logical bone in my body.

He literally cannot think.  He requires ABC or CNN to explain things to him like he's 8 and never realizes when they are manipulating him.  Rinse and repeat.

Amazing how you project. What you wrote doesn’t apply to me at all, but substitute ABC and CNN for right wing media and it fits you to a tee.

The designer specifically said it was not the Last Supper, liar.

One of the actors called it “the gay new  testament,” but it looks like she was likely just mocking the outcry, not saying that’s actually what inspired it.

Here is a quote from the article translated which quotes the other actor mentioned.  He implies it was the Last Supper, but specifically said it was NOT “mocking” it:

No one was dressed as Jesus, no one parodied him, neither in outfits nor in behaviors. The idea is to bring a new look. In the past, there have been a lot of representations of the table of the apostles and this has never shocked anyone. As if by chance, when it's LGBT and drags, it bothers. But we are used to it. People are obsessed with gender issues that bother conservatives. »

Guys.

The segment was titled “La Cène sur la scene sur la seine” (The Last Supper on the stage on the Seine) so, pretty obvious what they intended there.

Stop. Gaslighting.

The American left is unreal in their idiocy and lunacy. Literally NOBODY else in the world believes all these fake narratives.

And even if it is, where is the “mockery”?
