Depending on severity this could be 4-8 weeks, and linger all season.

Statistics say that RBs that get your average hamstring tweek only miss a week or two at most. 

I guess we'll see if Gibbs is an outlier and misses a month plus. I would love it if he drops to me at a discount.

Totally depends on severity.  Id want to see thr play and how much pain he was in.  They will pull any player from practice after a tweak.  Especially a high profile starter.  

Hammys can linger.  What is best is shutting him down until he is 100% ready.  Its worth missing the first couple games to return healthy.  

If he was 50 50 on suiting up week 1 I would just wait a couple more weeks.  Its a long season for these guys.

This is the second time Gibbs has had an injury issue.  I don’t think the first was a hammy.

this is 100% correct.   what we want to find out is whether its a grade 1, 2, or 3

that will give us a better idea of what the situation is.   sometimes it takes a while for that info to become public

That's the thing, the injury range varies widely. It's something where a player could  miss one game, or miss the entire season.

When it's the latter, they rarely say it's gonna be a long term thing into you're 2-3 games in. Most of them aren't very long term, but they can be, and the recovery process seems kind of tricky.

Exactly what happened with Justin Jefferson last season on my dynasty team. Luckily though he was back in time for the playoffs

You just never know with hamstring injuries.

it doesnt help that the team stays tight lipped about it either.

if its a season ender, they will say hes week to week but then a few days later they trade for someone to take his place and then the player goes to IR.    so that makes it tough on us to do our job

Exactly right!

They either don't know or they don't say, probably some of both. Then on top of that, hamstring injuries also seem to be very easy to tweak or have a setback during the recovery period that make it linger for weeks.

There's a 2-3 or so other injuries like this that are notorious for unpredictableness. Such as the calf strain, the knee sprain, etc. but I think the hamstring pull is by far the worst of the bunch.

Maybe, but he’s now had two injury issues, and yet it’s still preseason.
