Brandon Aiyuk (Whats Up With That ?)

Recommended Posts

The problem with assembling a top contending team is paying the various pieces of it within salary cap constraints. That the 49ers, with the biggest bargain in the NFL at QB, doesn't have room to pay him makes no sense. The Purdy discount likely only lasts one more year... but that's 2025's problem.

I guess a lot of money in McCaffery ,Deebo and Bosa is why, not sure Kittle's cost.

I heard over the weekend that the 49ers have the most available cap room in the league right now, so you're right about this. Seems to me they think some of the younger guys will produce well enough that they can trade Aiyuk and get some kind of return.

Aiyuk reportedly already turned down the Niners long-term deal. Best case is he plays out the final year and then Pearsall takes over. Worst case is he pitches a fit and they have to deal him to the Steelers. I don’t see San Fran breaking the bank for him when Purdy is going to get paid soon.

I would want no part of Aiyuk. Maybe if he was cheap but def not for first round pick and then you have to give him a boatload of cash immediately. Hard pass!

He's very good, he's not Jefferson good but, he wants Jefferson $$.

Word is, he was offered 29 per, I think that's fair.

Get what you can for him and move on.

Agreed. He wants to be paid like a CeeDee or Chase but he’s never had to do that in the Niners scheme. I’m kind of surprised the Steelers would even consider it.

Yep. Weird that the Steelers are the ones in here. Reeks of desperation.

Maybe he’ll turn into Diggs but doubt it.

Diggs had Josh Allen. Aiyuk would have Russ and Fields? Dumb.

My major takeaway if he gets traded is to bump Deebo and Kittle up my draft board and push Aiyuk and Pickens down.

Purdy should hold out until he gets paid. I wouldn't even of showed up to training camp without a new deal.  He gets hurt this year and it's over and he never made more than league minimum, fock that.

This is where I'm at. Get a 2nd round pick and a player at this point and hope RIcky pans out

I was expecting him too do just that.

Offense is loaded, more touches for Ricky, Juan, & even would like to see Bell get some looks.

They can't extend him until next year.

Juan is a WR 3, Bell is an undersized special teams guy. Ricky better be worth a first round pick if BA is gone

He has no leverage.  They can just let him sit on the couch and pay him nothing.  Or franchise tag him next year if he plays.  He thinks he is going to win the poker hand because he has pocket 2's off suited.
