I think we have most everything perfected. We will wait until next years schedule comes out and see what events we want to play. If anyone has any ideas feel free to post. 

 

We have 9 and could add a 10th as well.

We've done Ryder, I don't believe we've ever done President's. Since it's being held in an eastern time zone, I would be down to do one.

I think we had 6 people draft 4 players. You get points based on the  points your players get.

There is some strategy in trying to figure out who is going to play how many sessions. The Wisconsin Ryder Cup for example, DJ play all 5 sessions. Some one like a Harris English only played 3 which limits your possible points.

1000 for edex champ
500 for 2nd
250 for 3rd

I like that we will be paying 3rd for the edex cup.  My only question is, how much did 1st place get for each individual event this year?  Is raising that to $300 enough of a boost based on the entry fee increase?   Only questioning that because sometimes it feels like winning 2 tournaments should cover your entry fee for the year (in this case $750) but you'd only be getting $600 for 2 wins.  Maybe that is good, maybe you should need more than 2 wins....    im just spitballing.

in our 10 events this past season I had  a 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  did not sniff the top 3 of the edex.  Which is probably correct. Consistency should count for something.   I think that was $225, $150, $50

I had 2 1sts and way too many without any points and only tied for 2nd

I'd love to see the WM Phoenix Open added back in, since I go every year.  But I understand if it is not an elevated tourney 

Which reminds me, I got lottery tickets for the 2025 Open, in Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland.  Only W-Th, they didn't give me Friday like I requested, but there is an aftermarket at which I can probably get them.  My son said he wants to go again so I paid for them, and we might try to play a few rounds this time.  But, my ladies (wife, two daughters) have made it clear that continued boondoggles to Europe without them are... choosing poorly.

hmm. a friend that I travel with had hinted that he and his brother were considering a trip to either ireland or scotland in 2025. meaning I am invited to join. I'll have to feel them out on which place they are leaning toward and what time of year, maybe i'll suggest going to the Open for a day to sway them toward Ireland in July

I would do it, Troon was super fun.  I looked into flights earlier this week.  You can fly into Belfast (Northern Ireland, about an hour drive from the tourney) or Dublin (Ireland, 2 hour drive to Belfast, 3 from the tourney).  From where you live though, you can probably fly nonstop to Dublin, whereas it looks like (for me anyway) the Belfast flights require a connection in Heathrow.  You can possibly also ferry between Scotland and Northern Ireland, but I haven't looked into it.

New proposal for 2025.   The Golden Golfer Rule.   During any round, you can choose to have one of your golfers scores count twice!

unless i'm missing something, this doesn't seem fundamentally different than raising the entry fee each week.  you'll just have 4+ guys playing a side pot
