Pretty much this. He takes a lot of plays off, always has.

When was the "very good" game?  Week 7 was decent but not to the level of "very good".  Cooper has always been a bit streaky with one or two monster games, a half-dozen duds and the rest are in that decent category (4-50-1 or 8-100-0)

Week 7 would be a very good game, he was tenth in ff points non ppr, very good game for me,  He was 13th in ppr with 16 ff points, very good for me.   Thanks.

Cooper played 50% of the snaps yesterday, up from 34.5% last week. The Bills are using 4 receivers on a consistent basis and are comfortable spreading the ball around. He'll have WR2 games every once in awhile but his stat lines will be volatile.

I was pretty displeased with Cooper's output.  I guess he's there to unlock Shakir.

he is in a new offense has not had time to work with his starting QB.   I didnt expect hed blow the doors off in week 1 in Buffalo.

I'd say he likely needs at least another week (maybe 2) to get up to speed.    it is physically impossible to learn the playbook in only a week or two.

Don't these receivers always say that learning the playbook is easy because they're all the same routes?

the playbook isnt all they need to learn.

while the plays may be the same and the routes the same, but its the adjustments based on read that are different by team.

maybe with a certain look the bills will run a WR up the seam while the Cards might have him hook back to the QB.

That requires being on the same page as your QB and that part does not come easy.

Playbook issues or not,  Cooper has a history of very good games to vanishing, he’s a ff nightmare imo

I know.   I'm just saying given the situation it was likely not reasonable to expect a big game this week.   Next week is likely also dicey.  but after that, I'd say no excuses.

Seems like it might be pretty tough to catch a football with a cast on one of his hands.

A couple of weeks ago, I tried to trade Cooper straight up for:

Jakobi Meyers

Travis Etienne

Diontae Johnson

Michael Pittman

Josh Downs

I was rejected every time. No one wants the headache.

well, Downs is better than him straight up.    Though some of the other names on here I'd consider.

problem with Cooper.... hes a WR2 but a very inconsistent one.   hes boom or bust almost every week.  you can project him for 65 yards almost every week and could be 30-50 yards high or 30-50 yards low quite easily.   Thats what makes him frustrating to have.   you will start him and he will stink the joint out.  then next week you bench him and he will get 25 fantasy points while sitting on your bench.

Exactly. He's done this to me previously, and against every fiber of my being, I drafted him this year. I honestly just don't want the guy on my team any more.

I can respect that.   There is something to be said about drafting a 'set it and forget it' type player who is fairly consistent in their scoring from week to week and who has a good floor value from week to week.
