No, it didn't, and doesn't.

For reference, here is the article: https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/new-jersey/2025/07/24/why-is-my-electric-bill-so-high-what-to-know-about-rising-nj-rates/85330762007/

Here is the quote from the article about the spike

"The spike in electric bills started on June 1.  The average customer had estimated rates increased by about $20 a month, and the average monthly bill was projected to increase between 17.23% and 20.20%"

What you might be referring to is they only listed the 2024 increase.

In 2024, rates surged, with an average of 8.7% and 12% increase in electric bills depending on the electric company.

This years increase was double what last years was.  I personally didn't see an increase last year because I was buying my supply elsewhere, but last years increase was manageable for most.  This year different story, with NJ residents up in arms about the increase.

But is is further proof that I did not blame the prior increases on Trump as suggested.

Thanks for showing us all what a moron you are, once again

It’s astonishing to me that so many people here continue to deny the terrible effects that the tariffs are having already. Is it willful ignorance? The need to win the partisan war even if it means rejecting reality right in front of you?

Oh Tim,

Like many here, we await your analysis on when we need to stock up our bomb shelters and garter bartering materials.   I mean it is TERRIBLE....so when do we start that?  Or should we have done that already?

They think Trump is smart and knows what he's doing, or they are too proud to admit they were wrong.

For months now you have attacked my warnings about tariffs by claiming that I predict the end of all existence if they continue. I don’t. I predicted bad times ahead, which have already begun because prices are higher. And they’re going to continue to rise, it’s going to get a lot worse. But it’s not going to destroy America. So your response to me is both lazy and insipid. If you disagree with my specific premise that these tariffs are bad for our economy both short and long term, then make your case. But stop trying to exaggerate my response so as to paint me as a Chicken Little. Just makes you look silly.

What bad times have begun? I'm making good money in the market, enjoying some part time work. Keeping active. Can easily afford everything I need and want. Living a stress free existence.

All my friends and family are fully employed and living good lives. None of them are hurting financially in the least.

So what the hell are you talking about?

Whirlpool is also a Chicken Little:

And let’s not forget the biggest Chicken Little of all, John Deere:

30% increase on furniture

I have a tenant, a Vietnamese man who has been here for over 40 years with a furtniture store. He was in my office this morning absolutely freaking out. What’s he going to do? He can’t pass this on to the customers. He can’t absorb it. He told me if it lasts a year he will be forced out of business.

Forget for a moment whether you love Trump or hate him or whatever. Why are we doing this? It’s crazy. Real people are going to be hurt. Just as insane a policy as I’ve ever seen. Tell me how this is good for America.

BTW my tenant? He voted for Trump.

I was at Fidelity yesterday.  The guy shows me on a graph where they think we are at right now, which is on the edge of a recession.  Then he told me that we have been there for over a year.

Good for you. I’m very happy with Fidelity. You should fire yourself and head over there.

There is a less than 10% chance this story is true.  And that doesnt matter because no one outside of squish believes you anyway.
