Torrey.

I'm hoping they haven't cut the grass since the Farmers and it plays like the US Open a few years back.

Nice to see Daniel Berger at the top of a leaderboard again.

1.01 - Scottie Scheffler

Draft 4 - Score 3

I think this is what's making me lose interest. (that and my really bad picks ).   It's just way less interesting to draft only 4 and have no cut monster to worry about.  It's more fun drafting 6 and seeing how many you can get to the weekend to help out your team. Trunk slamming sucks but I'm sure when drafting, people started looking for "cut makers" toward the end and the teams that had 5 or 6 make the cut had those extra bullets.

having 1 or 2 events where we have to do this is okay and a nice change up, but that's 3 straight events and i'm guessing will be 5? total....  i'd have rather drafted the WMPO

Interesting point.  I agree that it changes drafting strategies.  But, I've been a drafting Rain Man the past two tourneys, so I say we stick with it  :D

Also I went to the WMPO on Friday.  Weather was perfect -- high 70s with some hazy clouds that took the edge off the sun.  Way different than last year when I wore a winter rain jacket.  What a great tourney to attend.

yeah, I definitely have to make it a point to go once.

As for the strategy, I don't know that it changes a ton. Maybe in the last rounds you look for a steady Adam Hadwin instead of a boom or bust Jonny Vegas :dunno:.  But drafting 4 counting 3 certainly seems to result in the teams that start out strong finishing strong. Less jockeying up and down the leaderboard when we all have 4 players the whole time.  Theres a place for it. I'm sure we've done this at least once the past 2-3 years. But I just don't remember starting a season out with 3 straight... and it will be 4 straight and 5 of the first 8, I believe.

I’m good with drafting the Valspar and John Deere if everyone else is. I like researching the lesser fields.

I don’t like drafting 4 either but the golf landscape changed and focked us. I think we have 3 options and I’d like to keep it at 10 events.

1. go back to just 8 events

2. Status quo and accept some draft 4 events

3. adopt some non-designated events that might not have a superstar field.

my vote is option 3. I like events with cuts and having to do a little more research.

I say we have 2 drafts for the events with short fields.

top 5 in the edex draft 6 and the bottom 4 in edex draft 6

I like option 3 because I think you can find 2 non elevated events that still have good fields. WMPO would have been more than fine to draft… and then we have 3 events where we draft 4 including the Sentry

6 are automatic non-worry. The 4 majors, Players, and Memorial all have full fields with cuts. I like having The Open as the season finale, but if the first round of the playoffs is still a full field we could extend.

We could modify our own EdEx cut, like if your guy isn't in the top 50 or whatever after 2 rounds, tough sh1t he's done for you for the tourney lol
