I like this basic idea.  Say two hours, with the clock turning off in the evening?  We might need a second source for a tiebreaker, or maybe just do alphabetical.

Make it 4 hours and they get skipped.  Hell, having the next best odds as your pick is a solid strategy and will be abused just as badly.

I certainly thought when I checked in this afternoon we might be mid round 2... and this is a draft 6 event. But I feel like every event so far this season we are done drafting with plenty of time. often a full day before the start.  So while this is a bad habit of cloaca, i'd hate to press it to a point where he leaves and we are down one genuinely good dude. 

i also dont like skipping and auto picking based on odds or a sites ranking list. i guess theres not really a better alternative and it's a lot of luck but the people on either side could get needlessly sniped

if someone doesn't show up for their first pick and is not paid up, maybe they just get skipped completely and take a 9th place finish and no edex points.   of course that then means they get #1 overall next event.... 

or maybe the best course of action is NFL rules (is it still the rule?) ... once an agreed upon timer is up, they get skipped with no pick and can make a pick whenever they show back up, but the draft will continue on until then.

I would say maybe Cloaca didn't get to have lunch today and his phone is still in his lunch box     but we don't know because Ed is MIA as well.

He may be a good guy but he is a terrible league mate.  Heck, I'm retired but I have stuff going on.  I'm busy tomorrow from 12-3 my time, and if it looks like my pick might come up (unlikely, because Cloaca picks before me) I'll leave options with somebody, because I respect the time of others.

I just don't get why we put up with this every single tourney.

It's 9pm Eastern, this is whack. I say we do WhiteWonder's plan and move on. Cloaca can pick from who is left if  he ever graces us with his presence, or quit and give him his money back.

I think we need to move on at this point and Cloaca can just make up whatever picks he's missed when he shows up. I also think drafting 5 instead of 6 might be a good idea given that only about 15-20 players are likely to be cut.

With all due, I'm suggesting any pick missed gets made when alts are taken.  Having perhaps 3 picks in a row is absurd.

That's fine, too. I do think it's time to get going, though. And, I think drafting 6 at this point is going to be a stretch. 5 is plenty for a 72-man tournament.
